00:00The International Conference on Women, Peace, and Security, or ICWPS,
00:06is a collective commitment where women's participation in peace processes
00:13and strengthening of financing mechanisms for projects for women's rights
00:19and equality of women's rights in the whole world.
00:23This is the story of Vel Custodio.
00:26The PASAY Declaration was established after the International Conference on Women, Peace, and Security, or ICWPS.
00:35This is a collective commitment in the countries that are part of the Women, Peace, and Security Agenda.
00:40Its mission is to strengthen the inclusion of women in the peace process
00:44and strengthen the financing mechanisms for projects for women's rights and gender equality worldwide.
00:50Several members attended the event, including Department of Budget and Management Secretary Amena Pangandaman,
00:56Department of Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo,
00:59and Presidential Advisor on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity Secretary Carlito Galvez, Jr.
01:05We have recognized the importance of international cooperation and there's a commitment to work together.
01:11And another significant point where the Philippines also hopes to work on
01:16is to continue stressing the interconnectedness between security, climate, gender equality,
01:23as well as the instability caused by conflicts.
01:28The DBM also said that women should be considered in preparing the national budget.
01:34When we prepare the budget, maybe we should mainstream everything women into this already.
01:40It's like when you prepare the budget, the primary purpose is to give jobs, is to give employment to the people, is to provide, right?
01:48So I hope that when you propose your budget, whatever program, project, or activity,
01:52make sure that women is already included in your proposal.
01:56Several women leaders of the country, representatives of the United Nations, and ASEAN in the PASAY Declaration,
02:03including the Ukrainian delegate, Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society Director Maria Onze Gomez.
02:09In the exclusive interview of PTV, she shared what women are facing in their country,
02:15which is in a state of war against Russia.
02:18Emotional and psychological situation is hard, you know, because you don't know if your beloved people is going to be alive or not.
02:27They need to work because they need autonomy.
02:31They need to have money to buy their food, to dress their children, to continue their life, to try to advance in their lives.
02:41And now it's difficult to have a job.
02:44Sexual violence is also a problem for Ukrainian women.
02:48Sexual trafficking, sexual abuse, intimate partner violence.
02:53As Ukrainians, we need to collect data. We need to be able to know what is the real situation.
02:58We need that Ukrainian women speaks about what is happening, what are they living in their public and also in their private lives.
03:07According to Gomez, ICWPS is important to share and study the situation of women in Ukraine.
03:14This is also a venue to get a solution to the problem of Ukrainian women.
03:19Ukraine needs your help more than ever because also the country has a fatigue of resources.
