The remand for 10 individuals, detained by the police to assist in the investigation of a businessman's kidnapping case in Johor on October 13, has been extended for seven days.

A local male suspect, in his 30s, who was arrested in Senai on Monday, was also remanded.

00:00The Johor Bahru Magistrate's Court extended the remand order on 10 individuals
00:04linked to the kidnapping of a 59-year-old businessman on October 13 for another seven days.
00:11A male suspect, who was arrested in Senai on Monday, was also remanded.
00:16The remand order for all 11 local suspects aged between 30 and 50 was issued on Tuesday morning
00:22to allow further investigations under the Kidnapping Act 1961.
00:27According to a report by China Press, the kidnappers forced the family of the victim,
00:33a property developer, to pay a RM20 million ransom for his safe return.
00:39The developer was preparing for a business trip when he was ambushed at around 5am
00:44outside his home, right before his scheduled flight from Senai Airport.
00:48The victim was released 14 hours later after the ransom was paid.
00:53He then lodged a police report and told the police that he was held by four kidnappers, including a woman.
00:59The suspects were arrested by a special Johor Police Task Force on October 22.
01:05Johor Police Chief Datuk M Kumar said one of those detained was a family member of the victim.
