Johor police chief Comm M. Kumar said 11 suspects, including two women, were arrested in a series of raids from Aug 12 until 26.

00:00Today, I would like to share the success of the Investigation Department of Contingent Jehovah's Witnesses
00:08together with the Investigation Department of the Police Department of North Johor Bahru, Pontian and Kulai
00:21have been involved in an operation that was launched on 12 August 2024 until 26 August 2024
00:33targeting an active group in the demolition of houses in the Johor area.
00:43According to the operation, and based on the investigation by the Investigation Department of Contingent Jehovah's Witnesses,
00:5111 local residents have been arrested, namely 9 men and 2 women.
01:01The results of the investigation show that this group, which claims to be a gang of thugs,
01:12targeted houses that were not in the Gaddat area and also in the Mewah housing area.
01:24This group of thugs will break into the houses and if there is a house owner,
01:35they will use weapons and then carry out a summon.
01:43During this operation, the results of the arrest show that this group is active
01:52since about 5 to 6 months ago and has targeted the areas of Johor Bahru, Kulai, Pontian and Mewah.
02:07The results of the investigation also show that this group is believed to be involved in the summon and demolition of houses
02:16and we believe that they have solved more or less than 31 cases in Johor.
02:25The results of the summon show that out of these 11, only 3 do not have a record of robbery.
02:37The rest have a record and the most I have seen is that there are 36 cases of robberies and 20 cases of burglary.
02:55They are aged between 20 and 65 years.
03:00For your information, this 65-year-old man is believed to be a buyer of valuables from this group.
03:19The investigation is carried out under section 395, 397 of the Penal Code, 457 of the Penal Code, 411 of the Penal Code and section 414 of the Penal Code.
03:37We also investigate from the point of action under section 39C of the Penal Code, section 1952.
03:49So far, the valuables that are believed to have been stolen from the victims, half of which we have recovered, are worth more or less Rp95,000 and the investigation process is still ongoing.
04:13We have arrested the chief.
04:14So we believe that we have overcome this group with the arrest of 11 people.
04:21As I said earlier, out of 11, only 3 do not have a record of robbery.
04:26The rest have a record of burglary and crime.
04:30During the arrest, 8 out of 11 who were arrested were positive for burglary.
04:36There were cases involving 5 people, 4 people.
04:40Not 11 people going into the same house.
04:42They were like rosters.
04:45Roster of officers.
04:49They were taken away.
04:50Yes, they were taken away.
04:51If we look at it, from the robbery, from the hard drinks to the toys, everything was taken away.
