Johor police have busted a house break-in gang, composed of Rohingya individuals, following the arrest of six suspects, including a 34-year-old woman, identified as the mastermind behind the operation.

00:00A 34-year-old Rohingya woman has been leading a group of young Rohingyas to carry out house
00:07break-ins at several districts in Johor and Malacca for the past six months.
00:12Johor Police Chief Commissioner Datuk M. Kumar said the group's criminal activity came to
00:17an end following the arrest of six members, including four females aged between 15 and
00:2534, in Kota Tinggi on September 25.
00:29Checks on the suspects found that two of them, including the mastermind, possessed
00:34UNHCR cards, while four have no documents.
01:29He said that the group would rent a car to move from one location to another to carry
01:33out the break-ins.
01:34The group used screwdrivers and small chisels to break into their victims' houses where
01:39they target cash, jewellery, branded bags, wristwatches and other valuables.
01:45Police have seized nearly R676,000 in stolen goods, including cash, and solved 21 break-in
01:51cases around Johor.
01:54Commissioner Kumar said the suspects have been handed over to the Malacca Police as
01:58they are also involved in break-in cases over there.
02:02He added that one syndicate member identified as Mohamed Shukur Mohamed Salim remains at
02:09large.
