00:01:14There's a healing element in salt, in sweat,
00:01:19in tears, in the ocean.
00:01:21In Halifax, being surrounded by salty water
00:01:24and fog is just enough grit to help polish away
00:01:27the pressure of to-do lists.
00:01:29To just make time for things that feel good.
00:01:32To let the salt cure whatever ails you.
00:01:35Halifax could be the break that finally leaves you
00:01:38feeling like you took one.
00:01:40As long as you're willing to rub salt in your wounds.

00:02:51To the world.
00:02:54Hello, this is Laurence Darvaux.
00:02:56Welcome to the beautiful province of New Scotland.
00:03:00It's wonderful to be in Halifax at the Scotiabank Centre
00:03:05for the 2024 International Figure Skating Championships.
00:03:10This year marks the 50th edition of this competition
00:03:14and the fourth time it has taken place in Halifax.
00:03:18Since 1973, the International Figure Skating Championships
00:03:22have taken place in different parts of the country
00:03:24and welcomed athletes from all over the world.
00:03:28This is the second out of six events
00:03:31of the Senior Grand Prix of the International Figure Skating Union.
00:03:34Halifax is about to experience an incredible week
00:03:37because the elite will face each other
00:03:40in search of a place in the Grand Prix final
00:03:43which will take place in Grenoble, France,
00:03:45from December 5 to 8 next year.
00:04:04To be continued...
00:04:34To be continued...
00:04:52Yesterday was our first day of competition
00:04:55for the 2024 International Figure Skating Championships.
00:05:00Our Canadiens, Diana Stiletto-Dudek and Maxime Deschamps,
00:05:04currently hold the first place in the Provisional Rankings
00:05:07after the Short Program
00:05:09and thus the world champion in title, Kaori Sakamoto.
00:05:13Same thing for the women in first place.
00:05:17This afternoon, on my side,
00:05:19Elisabeth Paradis, bronze medalist
00:05:21at the Senior Canadian Championships
00:05:23with her partner François-Xavier Ouellet
00:05:25and also a member of the world team in 2016.
00:05:28Welcome, Elis!
00:05:30Hello, Laurence! How are you?
00:05:32Absolutely, I'm really good.
00:05:34We are happy to see you again today
00:05:37for a day full of performances,
00:05:39high in color and energy.
00:05:42We will cover the rhythmic dance with you
00:05:45in the early afternoon.
00:05:47It will be followed by the Men's Short Program
00:05:50and a little later in the evening,
00:05:52we will see you for the Free Programs
00:05:54at the Couples and Women's Skating.
00:05:57So, Elis, tell me a little about what we can expect
00:06:00for the rhythmic dances this afternoon.
00:06:03It will be a very rhythmic event.
00:06:07We call them rhythmic dances, it's not for nothing.
00:06:10So there will be music that will make us move.
00:06:13If you followed the season last year,
00:06:15we danced on the themes of the 80s.
00:06:18But this year, for the rhythmic dance,
00:06:20it's songs from the 50s, 60s and 70s.
00:06:23So it's going to be a lot of rhythm,
00:06:26disco, dance and, of course,
00:06:29great skating, great technique.
00:06:31We have very, very new skaters
00:06:34who will do their rhythmic dance this afternoon.
00:06:39We had the chance to see
00:06:42the colorful costumes,
00:06:45the music, as you said,
00:06:47extremely rhythmic this morning.
00:06:49We can't wait to see these performances.
00:06:54Absolutely.
00:06:56There are some skaters that we had the chance to see
00:07:00in other events earlier in the season,
00:07:03in some international competitions,
00:07:06even at the Grand Prix last week of Skate America.
00:07:09But there are some skaters,
00:07:11like our last two Canadian couples,
00:07:13that we will see their program for the first time.
00:07:15It's their first competition of the season.
00:07:17We will discover.
00:07:18We saw them in practice,
00:07:20but the rest of the planet
00:07:22will discover live
00:07:24these two new programs,
00:07:26Marjorie Lajoie-Zacasillaga and Piper Gillis.
00:07:31So we see on the screen
00:07:33the athletes taking their place on the ice
00:07:36for their six-minute warm-up.
00:07:52From the United States of America,
00:07:56Emily Brackey and Ian Somerville.
00:08:02From the United States of America,
00:08:04Oona Brown and Gage Brown.
00:08:08From the United States of America,
00:08:10Amelia Zingas and Vadim Kolesnik.
00:08:13Skaters, you have five minutes for your warm-up.
00:08:17So tell me a little bit about the technical elements
00:08:21that we will find in the free dance today.
00:08:26If I'm not mistaken,
00:08:28it will be the steps of the Paso Doble that we may see.
00:08:32Yes, exactly.
00:08:33But we will not hear music from the Paso Doble.
00:08:35So only a few steps.
00:08:37Indeed, in rhythmic dance,
00:08:39there are five technical elements.
00:08:41And the technical element that we call in English
00:08:45the PST.
00:08:46You will see in abbreviation in the technical sheets.
00:08:50Excuse me.
00:08:51This is the sequence of steps of the free dance.
00:08:53Last year, it was the steps of the Silver Samba.
00:08:56But this year, the steps of the Paso.
00:08:58You will recognize this element.
00:08:59It will go all the way around the partner.
00:09:02So we're going to do a complete circle.
00:09:04It starts with the steps number 8 of the Paso
00:09:06that you will recognize very well.
00:09:08The little slips of foot on the ice
00:09:10by the two partners.
00:09:11Then, the partners continue their ice rink
00:09:13with some technical steps.
00:09:15And it ends with the last steps of the Paso Doble
00:09:18which are the crossed rolls
00:09:20with the swing roll at the end.
00:09:22So you're really going to see that element.
00:09:24No need to be dancing on the Paso Doble.
00:09:26However, on any rhythm.
00:09:28Then we will also have another sequence of steps
00:09:31which is without contact.
00:09:32So side by side.
00:09:33We see, by the way,
00:09:34at the moment, Harley and Jason
00:09:35who do this sequence of steps
00:09:37with technical turns.
00:09:39And we're going to look for a technical level
00:09:41as high as possible.
00:09:42Stay as close as possible
00:09:44and in musicality as always
00:09:46while dancing on the ice.
00:09:47This little slip of foot crosses the long or diagonal axis
00:09:50all along the ice.
00:09:52So we have two little slips of foot.
00:09:53But in fact, it's not true.
00:09:54We have a third one.
00:09:55So a sequence of steps,
00:09:56but choreographed.
00:09:57This one.
00:09:58You will recognize it very well.
00:09:59But it crosses the ice in the other direction.
00:10:01So on the short axis.
00:10:02Either going to the judges
00:10:04or walking from the judges.
00:10:06But there is no technical note
00:10:07for this element.
00:10:08Finally, we have our two signature elements
00:10:10of ice dancing.
00:10:11The flips.
00:10:12A short flip sequence
00:10:13and the lift.
00:10:15So a short lift.
00:10:17We will see.
00:10:18So five elements to watch out for.
00:10:20We can't make mistakes
00:10:21in technical dance
00:10:22because there aren't many elements.
00:10:28We were particularly impressed
00:10:31with the speed and musicality
00:10:33of the flips this morning.
00:10:35The majority, if not the entirety,
00:10:38of the teams were extremely solid.
00:10:42It's going to be a very tight competition.
00:10:45Yes.
00:10:46It's an element, the flips,
00:10:47on which the couples are often
00:10:49a little more nervous.
00:10:51We see more often mistakes
00:10:52in this element.
00:10:53You have to be perfectly in sync.
00:10:54You have to do at least four turns on one side
00:10:56and four turns on the other side.
00:10:57But yes, you're right to say that
00:10:59because we don't just want to succeed in the flips.
00:11:01Now, it's not enough to succeed
00:11:03and do them together.
00:11:04It also has to be musical.
00:11:05It has to be punchy.
00:11:07It really has to create
00:11:08a little extra effect
00:11:09so that the judges
00:11:10can give a higher score.
00:11:13And that's what we saw this morning.
00:11:15So I can't wait to see
00:11:17these series of flips again.
00:11:21Well, we have Piper and Paul
00:11:23who will perform
00:11:25in the second warm-up group.
00:11:28We expect Piper and Paul
00:11:32to have a great skating,
00:11:34always very creative and innovative.
00:11:37They may stand out,
00:11:39but the rest of the skaters today,
00:11:42anything can happen.
00:11:44The ranking is not predetermined.
00:11:46No.
00:11:47Far from it.
00:11:48You're right to say that
00:11:49we expect Piper and Paul
00:11:50to win the competition.
00:11:52It's true that it's not given either.
00:11:53They still have to skate it.
00:11:54But they still have
00:11:56a slightly higher level.
00:11:58They are still
00:11:59in the second-to-last world championship.
00:12:01But for all the other positions,
00:12:03it's going to be really...
00:12:04It may be very, very preferred.
00:12:06We saw the same thing last week
00:12:07at Skate America.
00:12:09A lot of skaters around 70.
00:12:1169, 70, 71.
00:12:13I think there were six couples
00:12:14in this little bracket
00:12:16of 2-3 points.
00:12:18After that, it's played
00:12:19in the free dance.
00:12:20So we can't make a mistake
00:12:22because as soon as we make a mistake,
00:12:23we fall from that 60, 70, 69 points.
00:12:27Obviously, the winners a little more.
00:12:29We can expect 80 and more
00:12:31for Piper and Paul.
00:12:32But after that,
00:12:33the other couples,
00:12:34it's going to be very, very tight.
00:12:36There are couples
00:12:37in this warm-up
00:12:38right now
00:12:39whose objective for tomorrow
00:12:40is to move on
00:12:41to the next warm-up.
00:12:42Because tomorrow,
00:12:43it's in the reverse order
00:12:44of the results
00:12:45of the free dance.
00:12:46So we know that the five best couples
00:12:47will skate in the second warm-up.
00:12:49And it's their objective
00:12:51to move on
00:12:52to that second warm-up
00:12:53definitively.
00:12:57There are young couples
00:12:59who made their entrance
00:13:01on the senior stage
00:13:02last season.
00:13:04Several who really amazed us.
00:13:07We had a few heartbeats.
00:13:09I want to say
00:13:10that this year,
00:13:11it may still be the same thing.
00:13:14They're here to come
00:13:16and shuffle the cards
00:13:18and change things
00:13:19in the world of dance.
00:13:20It's super interesting.
00:13:22Yes, we have several American couples.
00:13:24We have three in this warm-up.
00:13:27Some couples who are new.
00:13:29Some couples who stood out
00:13:30last year,
00:13:31like Émilie Braté
00:13:32and Ian Somerville,
00:13:34who surprised their nationals
00:13:36last year
00:13:37by going to the World Championships.
00:13:39We have the Browns
00:13:40who we liked a lot
00:13:41last year,
00:13:42who we discovered.
00:13:43And the same thing
00:13:44for Emilia and Vadim.
00:13:45So we closely monitor
00:13:46these couples
00:13:47who are trying
00:13:48to find a place
00:13:49on the international scene.
00:13:53So, without further ado,
00:13:55the first couple
00:13:56to step up
00:13:57for rhythmic dance
00:13:59are our Canadians,
00:14:01Alicia Fabry
00:14:02and Paul Heyer.
00:14:08They train
00:14:09at the IAM school in Montreal
00:14:12and they present
00:14:13their rhythmic dance
00:14:15on a medley
00:14:16by Elvis Presley.
00:14:26Walkin' through a party
00:14:27in the county jail
00:14:29The prison band was there
00:14:30and they began to wail
00:14:32The band was jumpin'
00:14:33and the joint began to swing
00:14:34You shoulda heard
00:14:35just knocked out
00:14:36Jailbird sing that rock
00:14:39Everybody let it rock
00:14:43Everybody in the whole cell block
00:14:46Was dancin' to the jailhouse rock
00:14:49Spider Murphy
00:14:50playin' in the saxophone
00:14:52Little Joe was blowin'
00:14:53on the slide trombone
00:14:55The drummer broke the melanoma
00:14:56Crash boom bang
00:14:57The whole rhythm section
00:14:58was a purple gang
00:15:00Let's rock
00:15:02Everybody let's rock
00:15:05Everybody in the whole cell block
00:15:08Was dancin' to the jailhouse
00:15:10rock, rock, rock
00:15:24We're caught in a trap
00:15:29I can't walk out
00:15:33Because I love you
00:15:35too much baby
00:15:42Why can't you see
00:15:46What you're doing to me
00:15:49Why can't you see
00:15:53What you're doing to me
00:15:57When you don't believe
00:15:59a word I say
00:16:06We can go on together
00:16:10With suspicious minds
00:16:14And we can build our dreams
00:16:17On suspicious minds
00:16:21We're caught in a trap
00:16:25I can't walk out
00:16:29Because I love you
00:16:31too much baby
00:16:41It's a one for the money
00:16:42It's a one for the show
00:16:44You better get ready now
00:16:45Go, go, go, go, go, go, go
00:16:47Don't you step on my
00:16:48blue suede shoes
00:16:52Well you can do anything
00:16:53but lift me off
00:16:54of my blue suede shoes
00:16:57You can do anything
00:16:58but lift off of
00:16:59my blue suede shoes
00:17:09You can do anything
00:17:10but hold me but me
00:17:15We said he was going to have energy. What a beautiful way to start this breathtaking competition.
00:17:27Alicia Fabry, Paul Elliott.
00:17:29A very, very beautiful program for Alicia and Paul. They are going to be very happy.
00:17:35They did the same thing last year at Skate America, but a little problem with the free dance
00:17:41that left them with a bitter taste, but they come back a few days later.
00:17:45Not a lot of time to rethink, not a lot of time to make corrections,
00:17:50then they attack the rhythmic dance that way. Bravo, really.
00:17:54A beautiful way to give yourself confidence for this program.
00:17:58Twice in a row in competition, executed with brilliance.
00:18:02They really stood out last week and once again they arrive today in the same way.
00:18:10Exactly, and it's tiring to do two Grand Prix right away.
00:18:13They are not the only ones to do it, there are others to stop.
00:18:16But for them, Skate America was not planned on time.
00:18:20They had the news a few days before.
00:18:23When we hear this news, we don't say no, we go to the competition, we go to the Grand Prix.
00:18:28But it makes that we have two competitions right away.
00:18:31They came back from another competition the previous week, so they must be very happy,
00:18:35but it's not the same in their performance.
00:18:37Look at this, the Volk series.
00:18:39When you say musicality, he had all the arms on the music in the first Volk.
00:18:44It was exceptional.
00:18:49I think it was in the Volk series that there was a big mistake in the dance of last week.
00:18:55Very well done Alcia.
00:18:57The porté here in rotation.
00:19:01And at the end, the beginning of the choreographic sequence.
00:19:07Very beautiful program.
00:19:10It's a cut that has a beautiful connection together, which is always well placed,
00:19:15everything is well finished, everything in smoothness.
00:19:18Even if it's not a very rhythmic program, it's not done in a chaotic way.
00:19:23On the contrary, we see that everything is in its place.
00:19:26In an authentic character, I want to say.
00:19:29Yes, absolutely.
00:19:31We see them here with their coach, Maxence Dubreuil.
00:19:34They train like several other ice dance couples at the Ice Academy of Montreal.
00:19:43We satisfy them.
00:19:48Absolutely, knowing where they came from,
00:19:53knowing where they found themselves last week in the rankings.
00:19:58They are probably part of those who want to change the warm-up group
00:20:03and be part of the second group for tomorrow's free dance.
00:20:07So certainly their score will be important today.
00:20:11Yes, they finished fourth in the rhythmic dance last week.
00:20:15So it's an excellent result for them.
00:20:18Really, they beat excellent groups.
00:20:21So they will want to do the same.
00:20:29The score for Alicia and Paul, 70.10.
00:20:35It's a little bit below the score they did a little earlier this season, 73.66.
00:20:42They're going to scratch the little points they left on the table
00:20:47and certainly come back strong for the next event of the season.
00:20:54So the next couple, Holly Harris and Jason Chen.
00:20:59They also train at the IAM school of Montreal.
00:21:02And they present us their rhythmic dance on a medley of ABBA music.

00:24:18What a beautiful performance to the sound of ABBA music.
00:24:23Performance by Holly Harris and Jason Chen.
00:24:29It won't be the last time today or at least this season that we'll hear ABBA music.
00:24:34Very, very popular music.
00:24:36But a very good choice for them.
00:24:38It suits them very well.
00:24:40A very expressive couple who are used to leaving everything on the ice.
00:24:44And I feel that's what they did today.
00:24:49Elizabeth, I think we weren't born in the right musical era.
00:24:53Absolutely.
00:24:55The last two years of rhythmic dance have proven it to us.
00:24:59These are excellent songs.
00:25:02We have a lot of fun.
00:25:05Yes, that's it.
00:25:07Jason said that Holly wanted to skate on ABBA last year.
00:25:12But to a certain extent, Romain told her that it wasn't the music of the 80s.
00:25:16So she was very happy this year to be able to skate on ABBA, finally.
00:25:24We'll see them at the beginning of their program.
00:25:29We'll start with the Volts series.
00:25:31Look here, we see Jason who had a small stop in the rotation in the second Volt.
00:25:38He's going to lower his level of these Volts and he's going to cut them quite a bit.
00:25:44In the step sequence series, you can see it at the top left of the screen during the performances.
00:25:49In the technical levels of the skaters, we see that the levels of their step sequence are a little lower.
00:25:55So we have level 1 in the step sequence, the type of dance to be practiced.
00:25:59Level 2 in the side by side.
00:26:01Of course, we're going to try to get used to level 3, in terms of dance.
00:26:09He closes the rotation, he speeds up.
00:26:15He's probably going to level 4.
00:26:19Their best score this season, 65.68.
00:26:25Let's see what it looks like today.
00:26:28Holly Harris and Jason Chan from Australia have earned 64.1 points.
00:26:35They are currently in 7th place.
00:26:37That means that Jason and Holly are currently in 2nd place.
00:26:41So the technical note, unfortunately, which is going to cost them dearly,
00:26:46a small stop in the rotation.
00:26:48The technical turns are a little less clean.
00:26:51They're going to work on that.
00:26:53The next couple, they represent the United States of America.
00:26:57Emily Bratty and Ian Somerville.
00:27:02They train under the direction of Greg Zerlin, Charlie White and Tanith White.
00:27:07And they present us their rhythmic dance on the music Brick House and Daddy Cool.
00:27:23BRICK HOUSE
00:27:53BRICK HOUSE
00:28:24BRICK HOUSE
00:28:37BRICK HOUSE

00:29:42BRICK HOUSE
00:29:54BRICK HOUSE
00:30:05BRICK HOUSE
00:30:08BRICK HOUSE
00:30:24What a magnificent intensity of Emily and Ian.
00:30:28And what to say about how easy it is for Ian to move and express the music so well.
00:30:34I'm amazed.
00:30:37Really, it's pretty rare.
00:30:39Maybe it's because I'm a girl.
00:30:42I tend to look at the girl who skates a lot.
00:30:45But it's not the case for this couple, which is a great quality.
00:30:48Because we should look at the couple.
00:30:50Yes, often we say to put the woman in value.
00:30:52But no, it's a couple skating together.
00:30:55So the two must be just as strong in terms of their expressiveness.
00:31:00But you're right to say it, it's still strong for Ian.
00:31:03I think Emily will have to work a little on that aspect.
00:31:07To be a little more authentic in her expressiveness.
00:31:10To work a little on their maturity and their connection together.
00:31:13But it's still a young couple.
00:31:15So obviously, that's what they're going to work on in the next few years.
00:31:21We see them here in the beginning of their seismic dance.
00:31:27The sequence of steps side by side, without contact.
00:31:33The technical note, unless it changes in the meantime.
00:31:36But it's really a level 1 for Emily.
00:31:38The sequence of steps, Laurence.
00:31:40The step at the end with the leg at 90 degrees.
00:31:45I didn't even know it was possible.
00:31:48I noticed the same thing.
00:31:51I don't understand.
00:31:54I looked at the results.
00:31:56I was super unhappy.
00:31:58There was a mistake in the dance.
00:32:01There was a problem in the dance.
00:32:04But I changed it.
00:32:06I would never have dared to do that.
00:32:09Really.
00:32:11I thought it was going to be better.
00:32:13I put a little nod to Volks.
00:32:16Wow, the leg.
00:32:18Coming from skaters that we know how difficult it is.
00:32:21How many hours we spend on the Volks.
00:32:24To add this level of additional difficulty.
00:32:28A couple who had finally lost a podium at the Nationals.
00:32:32We are the bronze in the last year.
00:32:34Unfortunately, at the World Contra Performance.
00:32:36We wish them a good season.
00:32:41The score for Emily and Ian today.
00:32:49They let us wait.
00:32:51Little drum roll.
00:32:5871.48.
00:33:01They are currently in the first row of the provisional ranking.
00:33:06It's a little below what they did at the Budapest Trophy.
00:33:09A little earlier this season.
00:33:11They did 74.92.
00:33:14In general, all the couples so far.
00:33:16They make a score a little below what they did.
00:33:20To date this season.
00:33:22So is the jury just a little more severe?
00:33:25The score below is perhaps at a level of base.
00:33:29A little lower.
00:33:31So we don't come close.
00:33:33Or maybe some technical levels that are missing.
00:33:36The next couple on the ice.
00:33:38A couple of brothers and sisters.
00:33:40Oona Brown and Gage Brown.
00:33:42They present us their music.
00:33:44On Get Up Off Of That Thing.
00:33:56I'm back.
00:33:58I'm back.
00:34:00I'm back.
00:34:02I'm back.
00:34:04I'm back.
00:34:06Get up off of that thing.
00:34:08And dance till you feel better.
00:34:10Get up off of that thing.
00:34:12And dance till you.
00:34:14Sing it now.
00:34:15Get up off of that thing.
00:34:17And dance till you feel better.
00:34:19Get up off of that thing.
00:34:21And try to release that pressure.
00:34:23Get up off.
00:34:26Good God.
00:34:28So good.
00:34:32Everybody ready.
00:34:36Follow me.
00:34:40That's a wild move brother.
00:34:42That's a wild move.
00:34:44That's not good.
00:34:46Good God.
00:34:49Watch out.
00:34:51Good God.
00:34:53You're doing good.
00:34:55You're doing good.
00:34:59Give it to me.
00:35:01Oh.
00:35:03Whoo.
00:35:16Raise up, get yourself together.
00:35:18Grab that funky soul.
00:35:20New York, get yourself together.
00:35:22Grab your funky soul.
00:35:24They're doing it down in that zone.
00:35:27Grab that funky soul.
00:35:29They're doing it by the beach.
00:35:31Grabbing that funky soul.
00:35:33Raise up, get yourself together.
00:35:35Grab that funky soul.
00:35:37When I say Sagittarius.
00:35:40Grab that funky soul.
00:35:42Hit it.
00:35:44Hit it.
00:35:46Hit it.
00:35:48Whoo.
00:35:59Whoo.
00:36:01Oh.
00:36:03Get up off of that thing.
00:36:05And shake the youth you better.
00:36:07Get up off of that thing.
00:36:09And try to release that pressure.
00:36:11Get up off of that thing.
00:36:13And dance with youth you better.
00:36:15Get up off of that thing.
00:36:17And dance with youth you better.
00:36:19Get up off of that thing.
00:36:21And shake the youth you better.
00:36:23Get up off of that thing.
00:36:25And try to release that pressure.
00:36:27Get up off.
00:36:29Ha.
00:36:31Good God.
00:36:33So good.
00:36:35Ha.
00:36:37Everybody ready?
00:36:39Whoo.
00:36:41Follow me.
00:36:44Whoo.
00:36:49Wow.
00:36:51Incroyable.
00:36:53Quelle performance.
00:36:57Un très beau programme de Oona et Gates.
00:36:59Vraiment.
00:37:53donc Long Island et Montréal.
00:37:55C'est une particularité commune du coup,
00:37:57mais ils ont vraiment
00:37:59deux équipes d'entraîneurs
00:38:01qui leur apportent des choses différentes
00:38:03et complémentaires.
00:38:05C'est très intéressant.
00:38:07On va la revoir ici, la séquence.
00:38:09Et le petit pas petit,
00:38:11grand écart,
00:38:13en plein milieu de la glace.
00:38:15Pour vous donner une idée
00:38:17à quel point le bassin est profond aux États-Unis,
00:38:19en termes de danse,
00:38:21ils ont terminé en huitième position
00:38:23l'année dernière aux championnats nationaux des États-Unis.
00:38:25Donc, vraiment,
00:38:27il y a d'excellents coups pour les États-Unis
00:38:29quand on dit qu'on termine huitième dans toute nation
00:38:31et qu'on participe à des remplis
00:38:33à un nouveau niveau.
00:38:35Le niveau qui est si relevé
00:38:37au sein du même pays
00:38:39fait en sorte que
00:38:41les équipes se poussent
00:38:43à être meilleures d'année en année
00:38:45et on le voit encore une fois
00:38:47ici aujourd'hui avec les Browns.
00:38:49Exactement.
00:39:15des Grands Prix.
00:39:17Ils ont fait leur meilleur pointage
00:39:19cette saison.
00:39:21Il y a quelques semaines,
00:39:23au Dennis 10 Memorial Challenge,
00:39:25un pointage de 73,01.
00:39:27Donc,
00:39:29on va voir à quoi
00:39:31comparent leurs performances d'aujourd'hui.
00:39:41Alors 72,18,
00:39:43c'était les classes provisoirement
00:39:45au premier rang.
00:39:51Et il va nous rester un dernier couple
00:39:53à s'élancer avant
00:39:55le deuxième groupe d'échauffement.
00:40:02Representing the United States of America,
00:40:04Emilia Zingas
00:40:06and Vadim Kolesnik.
00:40:08Notre troisième couple des États-Unis,

00:42:19Yeah
00:42:25Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
00:42:55yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
00:43:25And he's right to raise the point. Vadim, what a great performance.
00:43:39Magnificent performance from Emilia and Vadim. A couple who are only in their second season together.
00:43:49A relatively new couple that we discovered together in Patinage Canada last year.
00:43:57I think they have a very promising future. We'll keep an eye on them in the next few years.
00:44:07We saw on the screen, top left, the technical elements come out.
00:44:12They really maximized the judges' appreciation of the technique.
00:44:20There are a few small elements that are under review, but for the moment, they seem to have taken the lead.
00:44:30Yes, the quality of the elements was very high.
00:44:35I was surprised at one point to forget to look at the technical elements.
00:44:41I was overwhelmed by their dance, their rhythm.
00:44:45But when we looked, they seemed to have missed a lot of technical elements, a lot of technical levels.
00:44:51Maybe the turns were not as clean, the squares were not deep enough.
00:44:57In terms of technical points, we go down a level.
00:45:00I saw their step sequence, the type of dance on the track that was reduced to level 1.
00:45:05The step sequence side by side, the same thing.
00:45:08This will cost a lot of money.
00:45:10I think you said the points are a little lower this weekend.
00:45:14In my opinion, it's because the technical panel doesn't let it pass.
00:45:17It's not a bad thing at the beginning of the season.
00:45:19We don't give them the new techniques.
00:45:21You have to train them, you have to do them.
00:45:23We really have to make a technical panel that is very pointy.
00:45:27We look here at the vault sequence.
00:45:32I think the leg was a little too low.
00:45:35It should give them both a new technical level.
00:45:39We really wanted to have the foot higher throughout the vault sequence.
00:45:44It didn't seem to me.
00:45:46But look at them dance.
00:45:48It made me dance on my chair.
00:45:51They're going to use it.
00:45:53We saw small elements that were under review.
00:45:56Maybe the review will show us that they finally managed to get the points.
00:46:03I think that knowing that they lost a little technical level,
00:46:06it means that they have a huge potential to advance to the next Grand Prix.
00:46:11Right here at the end of the season.
00:46:13That's what it shows us.
00:46:16Wow!
00:46:17Emilia and Vadim's score is 75.63.
00:46:21So despite these technical levels that they didn't look for,
00:46:26the level of appreciation of the judges, the speed, the unison was there.
00:46:30And that's why they're in the first provisional round.
00:46:34Incredible!
00:46:36We see the importance of the quality of the elements,
00:46:39but also the second grade, the grade of the program components,
00:46:43is extremely important.
00:46:45Because it penalized them,
00:46:47but they managed to catch up with these other points.
00:46:51What a huge potential!
00:46:53Emilia, who hasn't danced ice skating in a very, very long time,
00:46:57so when she's going to master her technical turns at a higher level,
00:47:01and I tell her, but it's the same for Vadim,
00:47:04when they're going to look for their technical level in the vault sequences,
00:47:07it's going to be very difficult.
00:47:10So the second group of warm-ups
00:47:14who just took place on the ice for their six-minute warm-up.
00:47:40You unfortunately didn't have the chance, like Elisabeth and I,
00:47:44to attend all the practices,
00:47:46but Piper and Paul made a costume change
00:47:50every time they put their foot on the ice.
00:47:54It's really like a Barbie,
00:47:56you can put on all the possible costumes.
00:48:00I love the concept!
00:48:02Yes, you know, Elisabeth said in an interview that it was
00:48:06Yes, you know, Elisabeth said in an interview that it was
00:48:09they wanted to capture the American dream of the time,
00:48:12so they're going to skate on a music by the Beach Boys,
00:48:15so a little bit of the American dream,
00:48:17the Californian life on the beach,
00:48:20so they wanted to capture the essence of that.
00:48:23When we think of that, we think of a Barbie, indeed.
00:48:26And one of the costumes she wore this week for the practices,
00:48:30it was literally inspired by a Barbie costume.
00:48:34And now, it will be with a new costume.
00:48:36So really, they thought of a concept,
00:48:39it's not just the moment of the competition,
00:48:41the concept is the whole season,
00:48:44it brings us into a story,
00:48:46really, two very creative individuals.
00:48:51And you said it so well, very creative,
00:48:54but they keep being creative,
00:48:56not just this season.
00:48:58Every year, they go out of the ordinary,
00:49:00they change the doors,
00:49:02they make difficult entrances,
00:49:04new entrances,
00:49:06so it takes a lot of training time
00:49:09to master these things.
00:49:11That's why Piper and Paul
00:49:13have been part of the world elite
00:49:15for several years.
00:49:17Yes, because they managed to reinvent themselves
00:49:19after so many years.
00:49:21Paul, we remember, was in the Olympics in 2010,
00:49:24so it's been several years
00:49:26that he's in the elite,
00:49:28and he's doing great in his sport.
00:49:30And as you said, he keeps reinventing himself,
00:49:32he keeps bringing new elements.
00:49:34They don't just repeat,
00:49:36copy and paste every year,
00:49:38they come back with new concepts.
00:49:40He even said he was already planning
00:49:42Milan 2026,
00:49:44he already has the next season,
00:49:46so they are already thinking
00:49:48about the next concept,
00:49:50even if the season is just starting.
00:49:52So really, great artists,
00:49:54not just great athletes.
00:49:59We're going to have a wonderful competition
00:50:02in this last warm-up group,
00:50:04Evgenia and Jeff Roy,
00:50:06who are in their first competition
00:50:12in America.
00:50:14They competed in Shanghai
00:50:16a little earlier this season,
00:50:18but it's the first time
00:50:20they're competing on this side,
00:50:22even if they train at the IM school.
00:50:24They spent the last few months
00:50:26in Europe.
00:50:30And our third Canadian group,
00:50:32which we haven't talked about yet,
00:50:34but it's not a lack of interest,
00:50:36Marjorie Laja and Zachary Laga,
00:50:38who were acclaimed by the crowd
00:50:40here in Halifax,
00:50:42with reason.
00:50:44We're going to focus on their music,
00:50:46Austin Power, as you can see.
00:50:48And as I said earlier,
00:50:50it's their first competition of the season,
00:50:52so it's risky,
00:50:54but to start the season
00:50:56directly in the Grand Prix,
00:50:58so we didn't have time
00:51:00to test the equipment
00:51:02necessarily in front of the judges,
00:51:04to do it in front of a crowd,
00:51:06so it doesn't matter.
00:51:08They're ready for that,
00:51:10they're ready for the competition,
00:51:12but we're going to decide
00:51:14if it's a good plan with them.
00:51:16And for Marjorie and Zach,
00:51:18who finished 5th
00:51:20in the World Championships,
00:51:22it's absolutely not negligible.
00:51:24So the next step
00:51:26is probably to go
00:51:28and compete for a spot
00:51:30on the podium.
00:51:32We saw Laila and Luis
00:51:34who finished 4th
00:51:36just at the foot of the podium,
00:51:38who skated last week
00:51:40at Skate America,
00:51:42they beat the world champions.
00:51:44Of course, they made a mistake,
00:51:46the world champions,
00:51:48but it's going to move,
00:51:50they don't want to make things move.
00:51:52Yes, we know that Piper and Paul
00:51:54are very strong,
00:51:56but Marjorie and Zach
00:51:58want to be Canadian champions.
00:52:00You can't stop and say,
00:52:02I'm going to wait for my turn,
00:52:04I'm going to wait for them to retire.
00:52:06No, that's not what they're doing.
00:52:08They're always trying to push,
00:52:10to get closer,
00:52:12to get closer,
00:52:14to reach a podium spot
00:52:16at the World Championships.
00:52:18They're still young,
00:52:20but they're an experienced couple
00:52:22because they've been together
00:52:24since they were very young.
00:52:26So there's nothing better
00:52:28for the connection,
00:52:30the complicity on the ice.
00:52:32They always have a great team,
00:52:34an exceptional partnership,
00:52:36so they also reinvent themselves
00:52:38and push the limits of skating
00:52:40in Canada every year.
00:52:42With our surfers
00:52:44right here,
00:52:46one more time, ladies and gentlemen.
00:52:48Please leave the ice. Thank you.
00:52:50The period has now been terminated.
00:52:52Assemble very closely, couples.
00:52:54We saw a lot of free skating
00:52:56in the last minute.
00:52:58It shows
00:53:00that they did
00:53:02what they needed in their warm-up
00:53:04and enjoyed
00:53:06feeling the ice in the last few seconds.
00:53:10Yes.
00:53:16So the first couple
00:53:18to start this second
00:53:20warm-up group
00:53:22will be the Koreans.
00:53:28Hana Lim
00:53:30and Ye Kwon.
00:53:32Another couple
00:53:34who trains at the IAM school
00:53:36under the direction of Marie-France Dubreuil,
00:53:38Patrice Lauzon and the whole team.
00:53:40They present us their
00:53:42rhythmic dance
00:53:44Reach out, I'll be there.
00:53:46I will survive.
00:54:14Reach out, I'll be there.
00:54:16Reach out, I'll be there.
00:54:18Reach out, I'll be there.
00:54:20Reach out, I'll be there.
00:54:22Reach out, I'll be there.
00:54:24Reach out, I'll be there.
00:54:26Reach out, I'll be there.
00:54:28Reach out, I'll be there.
00:54:30Reach out, I'll be there.
00:54:32Reach out, I'll be there.
00:54:34Reach out, I'll be there.
00:54:36Reach out, I'll be there.
00:54:38Reach out, I'll be there.
00:54:40Reach out, I'll be there.
00:54:42Reach out, I'll be there.
00:54:44Reach out, I'll be there.
00:54:46Reach out, I'll be there.
00:54:48Reach out, I'll be there.
00:54:50Reach out, I'll be there.
00:54:52Reach out, I'll be there.
00:54:54Reach out, I'll be there.
00:54:56Reach out, I'll be there.
00:54:58Reach out, I'll be there.
00:55:00Reach out, I'll be there.
00:55:02Reach out, I'll be there.
00:55:04Reach out, I'll be there.
00:55:06Reach out, I'll be there.
00:55:08Reach out, I'll be there.
00:55:11At first I was afraid, I was petrified.
00:55:15Kept thinking that I could never live without you by my side.
00:55:20But then I spent so many nights thinking how you did me wrong.
00:55:25And I grew strong, and I learned how to get along.
00:55:32And so you're back from outer space.
00:55:38I've just looked in, trying to hear what that said, look for your face.
00:55:42Should change this stupid luck, shouldn't make you need me.
00:55:46If I had known just one second you'd be back to bother me, yeah, yeah.
00:55:51Na na na na na na na na, na na na na!
00:55:56Na na na na na na na!
00:55:59Na na na na na na na na na na!
00:56:06Ok, we're not done yet!
00:56:08we're gonna set it on the floor.
00:56:09Open air!
00:56:13Hooray!
00:56:14Hooray!
00:56:17Ho!
00:56:18And!
00:56:19Neeer!
01:03:28Quelle puissance! Quelle performance de Nathalie et Philippe!
01:03:38Wow! They didn't stop a second of this program.
01:03:44The cardiovascular capacity they need to go through a program like this.
01:03:50Really, I'm impressed.
01:03:53I really, really liked this program.
01:03:56It suits them very well.
01:03:58Powerful, you said it.
01:04:00Extremely dynamic.
01:04:01We have a contrast with the couple that passed just before.
01:04:04Anna and Yé, who were more in the finesse, the softness, the speed, the connection.
01:04:09They are on the other side of the spectrum.
01:04:14They are in the power of the big movements.
01:04:16They are physically big, but they skate big.
01:04:21You may not see the movement on the ice very well,
01:04:24but when you see them in practice,
01:04:26when you see them compared to the other skaters on the ice,
01:04:29they move quickly.
01:04:31So it's two types of skating, a little bit the opposite,
01:04:36but they are big bosses.
01:04:39If we look here, the amplitude of the legs,
01:04:42in the crosses, in all the placements, it's impressive.
01:04:47Yes, they are skaters who skate big.
01:04:50Really, they will look for all the space in the ice rink, in the arena.
01:04:57In the middle of their dance, of their pop sequence,
01:05:01they stayed very far from each other throughout this sequence.
01:05:05And it would seem that the technical levels of the pop sequences were good.
01:05:11They are going to approach level 2, level 3.
01:05:14So a little more solid from the point of view of the technical turns
01:05:17than the couples we saw earlier.
01:05:21Really a good performance.
01:05:24So the best score this season for Nathalie and Philippe, 75.10.
01:05:32Let's see if they will get closer to that today.
01:05:41They did their 75.10 at Nebelhorn Trophy,
01:05:46a little earlier in September this year.
01:05:54So 74.97, which puts them in second place for the moment.
01:06:03We said it was going to be tight,
01:06:06so we see 75, 74, 112, 113, 114, 110, twice.
01:06:12So it's going to play out in the free program tomorrow.
01:06:24The next couple, they represent France.
01:06:27Eugenia Lopareva, Jeffrey Brissot.
01:06:30They train under the direction of Marie-France Dubreuil and Patrice Lauzon at IAM School.
01:06:36Here is their medley on the music of IAM.
01:06:533, 2, 1, ignition.
01:06:57Let's go.
01:07:24Way out there and stay
01:07:28Life like torpedo
01:07:32On your favorite way
01:07:36Life like torpedo
01:07:40All systems abort
01:07:49Ladies and gentlemen, we have had a successful takeoff
01:07:52on this first night flight to Venus.
01:08:11There lived a certain man in Russia long ago
01:08:15He was big and strong in his eyes a flaming glow
01:08:19Most people look at him with terror and a fear
01:08:22But to Moscow chiefs he was such a lovely dear
01:08:34He preached the Bible like a preacher
01:08:38Pouring all ecstasy and fire
01:08:42But he also was the kind of teacher
01:08:46He was a man of desire
01:09:08Ra-ra-rasputin lover of the Russian queen
01:09:12There was a cat that really was gone
01:09:15Ra-ra-rasputin Russia's strangest love machine
01:09:19It was a shame how he carried on
01:09:34Oh, those Russians.
01:09:43Evgenia Lopareva, Geoffrey Brissot
01:09:49I loved their show, Lauren. Really.
01:09:53I had a lot of fun.
01:09:56And I think they also had fun.
01:09:58These two people are often serious.
01:10:01You know, sometimes they do shows
01:10:03that are a little more serious.
01:10:07And now it looks like I'm rediscovering them
01:10:09under a different day, under a different personality.
01:10:12And they're doing great.
01:10:14And I really wanted to dance with them.
01:10:16Absolutely.
01:10:18A wonderful choreography by Guillaume Cizeron.
01:10:22Ah, there you go.
01:10:26It's a group that always goes towards a type of music
01:10:29in the rhythmic dance that is different from the others.
01:10:32Last year, if I remember correctly, it was a show from the 80s.
01:10:35But typically French, not very well known.
01:10:38They went to get to know their culture through their rhythmic dance.
01:10:41This is not the same kind of disco
01:10:44that we've seen several times this afternoon.
01:10:47It's another type of dance, another type of music
01:10:50that's a little futuristic, a concept.
01:10:54We're going to try to fly.
01:10:56Unfortunately, the arms like this are very risky
01:10:58because it wasn't in the center.
01:11:00So we had arms on the music,
01:11:02but they weren't at the same time.
01:11:04We're going to be penalized in the judges' rating.
01:11:09The sequence of steps side by side.
01:11:11A group that has a very nice posture.
01:11:14They're all very cold, technically very solid.
01:11:17It's a little less fluid.
01:11:19A little less movement from the outside.
01:11:21On the other hand, it's paying for the technical points
01:11:23to have the points down.
01:11:25Easier, well, easier.
01:11:27Maybe not easier, but in short,
01:11:29we are able to make the best technical turns,
01:11:32with deep and clear jumps,
01:11:34because we are well straight on our blade.
01:11:37So they have this quality of cleanliness,
01:11:40of a well-elongated body.
01:11:44Their average score in terms of rhythmic dance
01:11:47was made at the World Championships last season.
01:11:5080.01.
01:11:52We haven't seen that yet this season on their part,
01:11:55but we're going to get closer to it,
01:11:57quietly, not quickly.
01:12:00So their score, 76.76,
01:12:03which puts them in first place.
01:12:06Romain seems to be having fun
01:12:08with a score of 7.9.
01:12:11So, yes, definitely,
01:12:14we're going to build on that all season
01:12:16to get closer to their 80.
01:12:1880.
01:12:27Our second pair of Canadians,
01:12:30Marjorie Lajoie and Zachary Lagan.
01:12:33They train at the IAM School
01:12:36and they present us their rhythmic dance
01:12:39on Soul Bossa Nova and Boogie Wonderland.
01:13:48RHYTHMIC DANCE MUSIC
01:14:18MUSIC
01:14:48MUSIC
01:15:18MUSIC
01:15:36CHEERING
01:15:42I had just noticed,
01:15:46he's a perfectionist, this Zach.
01:15:49He's demanding of himself.
01:15:52And I wanted to tell the audience,
01:15:54the people who listen to us,
01:15:56that we know him personally in life.
01:15:58He's a clown.
01:15:59And he starts the show
01:16:01with this funny character.
01:16:03And I think it shows
01:16:06a bit of his real personality
01:16:08that we see maybe less in the skating.
01:16:11But now he's going to get involved.
01:16:13The little perfectionist in him
01:16:15is going to tap his fingers.
01:16:17But what a beautiful technical sheet.
01:16:21Really, a great show.
01:16:25I wrote to myself,
01:16:26but also, Zach is funny.
01:16:28He really made me laugh
01:16:30at the beginning of the show.
01:16:32And it's not a personality trait
01:16:33that he usually leaves,
01:16:35that he leaves transparent.
01:16:37As much during his shows
01:16:38as outside,
01:16:39when we see him in interviews,
01:16:41or in the skating room.
01:16:43But it's extremely diversifying
01:16:45as a program.
01:16:47It was so well done
01:16:49in the vox sequence that we hear here.
01:16:51Precision, each voice,
01:16:53each genre on the music.
01:16:55So that, the points have been
01:16:57very, very high
01:16:58from a technical point of view,
01:16:59but also for the note of the components.
01:17:01The vox sequence, well done.
01:17:04We see that Marjorie
01:17:06caught her foot by accident.
01:17:08But she did it.
01:17:09But unfortunately, the fall here.
01:17:11And it was very long
01:17:13before the next choreography.
01:17:15So, I don't know what the cases were.
01:17:17The fact that they weren't able
01:17:19to go faster.
01:17:21Maybe a little bit of strength,
01:17:22something that they didn't do
01:17:23to get back in the middle.
01:17:25But unfortunately,
01:17:26they weren't able to get back
01:17:27before a good time,
01:17:28before everything,
01:17:29to start again
01:17:30at the element of the vox sequence.
01:17:32They didn't affect their technical note.
01:17:34They didn't miss any element.
01:17:36So the technical note
01:17:38will be very strong.
01:17:39On the other hand,
01:17:40the note of the program components
01:17:41will be affected
01:17:42because we have a noise
01:17:43in the choreography.
01:17:44When the program components
01:17:45diminish,
01:17:46the performance diminishes
01:17:47dramatically in the music,
01:17:48obviously.
01:17:49And we see that
01:17:50it affected them a little bit.
01:17:51They are professional.
01:17:52They gave everything,
01:17:53but we could see
01:17:54that they were a little bit
01:17:55less acclimatized
01:17:56after that mistake,
01:17:57unfortunately.
01:17:58Absolutely.
01:17:59On the other hand,
01:18:00did they react intelligently?
01:18:02Did they place themselves
01:18:03directly for the steps?
01:18:05Did they miss them?
01:18:06Let's see how it will affect
01:18:08the note.
01:18:10So, 77.34.
01:18:13They are all the same
01:18:15in first place
01:18:16of the provisional ranking.
01:18:18So clearly,
01:18:19this program is really
01:18:20a good vehicle for them,
01:18:22despite a major mistake,
01:18:25not in the elements.
01:18:27They are still
01:18:28in the first row
01:18:29of the provisional ranking.
01:18:37The next ones,
01:18:38but not the least,
01:18:39our last Canadians
01:18:40to take the stage,
01:18:42Piper Gillis and Paul Poirier.
01:18:45They are training
01:18:46under the direction
01:18:47of Caroline,
01:18:48Yuris Razgoulayev
01:18:49and John Lane.
01:18:51They present us
01:18:52their rhythmic dance
01:18:53on a medley
01:18:54of the Beach Boys.
01:19:06Round, round, get around,
01:19:08I get around, yeah.
01:19:09Get around, round, round,
01:19:11I get around, I get around.
01:19:13Get around, round, round,

01:19:19Get around, round, round,
01:19:20I get around, turn, turn.
01:19:22Get around, round, round,
01:19:23I get around, turn, turn.
01:19:25I'm getting bugged
01:19:26driving up and down
01:19:27the same old strip.
01:19:28I gotta find a new place
01:19:30where the kids are hip.
01:19:33My buddies and me,
01:19:34you're gettin' real well known,
01:19:36yeah, but bad guys know us
01:19:38and they leave us alone.
01:19:41Get around, round, round,
01:19:42I get around, turn, turn.
01:19:44Get around, round, round,
01:19:45I get around, turn, turn.
01:19:47I'm getting bugged
01:19:48driving up and down
01:19:49the same old strip.
01:19:51I gotta find a new place
01:19:52where the kids are hip.
01:19:54I gotta find a new place
01:19:58Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
01:20:28I wish they all could be Californian
01:20:32I wish they all could be Californian
01:20:36I wish they all could be Californian girls
01:20:44Well, the East Coast girls are hip
01:20:47I really dig those styles they wear
01:20:52And the Southern girls with the way they talk
01:20:56They knock me out when I'm down there
01:21:00The Midwest farmer's daughters really make you feel alright
01:21:08And the Northern girls with the way they kiss
01:21:12They keep their boyfriends warm at night
01:21:17I wish they all could be Californian
01:21:21I wish they all could be Californian
01:21:25I wish they all could be Californian girls
01:21:55Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh

01:24:35Foreign
01:24:45Foreign
01:24:5146.44
01:24:55They are clearly ahead
01:24:58They gave themselves a very comfortable cushion
01:25:02And it's also the best rate
01:25:05at the Rhythmic Dance until now
01:25:08this season
01:25:11Wow
01:25:12A whole score for Piper and Paul
01:25:16Absolutely
01:25:17So we see the results after the Rhythmic Dance
01:25:22Our Canadians in 1st and 2nd place
01:25:25Piper Gillis, Paul Poirier
01:25:27As well as Marjorie Lajoie and Zachary Laga
01:25:31And finally in 3rd position
01:25:34The French, Evgenia Lopareva and Jeffrey Brissot
01:25:40We'll take a moment to see
01:25:42some images of their performances
01:25:45in a moment
01:25:49A really beautiful Rhythmic Dance event, Laurence
01:25:53Few mistakes
01:25:54Sometimes there are events where we see
01:25:56several mistakes, some clutches
01:25:58We are at the beginning of the season
01:26:00And the couples are already very prepared
01:26:04The elements are solid
01:26:06We have quality performances
01:26:08So it looks good for the rest of the season
01:26:11Each of these couples
01:26:13already have the rest of their season
01:26:16Maybe the Grand Prix Finals
01:26:18The Nationals
01:26:19The World Championships
01:26:21I can't wait to see them tomorrow
01:26:24There are 7 points
01:26:26that separate the 2nd from the 9th place
01:26:30So 7 points in a free program
01:26:33It's one element
01:26:34So no one will have the right to make a mistake tomorrow
01:26:38Yes, absolutely
01:26:39It's also very serious in the program components
01:26:42We have 5 couples with 33 points
01:26:4533 or 32 points
01:26:46So we see that it's really the technique
01:26:49that made the difference today for the scores
01:26:52So we now see on the screen
01:26:54our 3rd place
01:26:56Evgenia and Jeffrey
01:26:58who really made a solid program
01:27:01Very risky
01:27:03A program, a style that we didn't necessarily recognize
01:27:06They surprised us
01:27:07But they really did a great performance
01:27:10Marjorie and Zachary
01:27:12who unfortunately started
01:27:14with an exceptional lead
01:27:19but who, following a positive from Zachary
01:27:22between the elements
01:27:24started to lose points
01:27:26But still!
01:27:27We did 77.34 points
01:27:30So despite everything, their technique is high
01:27:33Their program components
01:27:35could have been much higher in that mistake
01:27:38So it's good for them
01:27:39their next Grand Prix
01:27:41which will take place in a few weeks
01:27:43And our Canadian champions
01:27:45Piper, Gillis and Paul Poirier
01:27:48Here they are
01:27:50A program without fault
01:27:51for their first competition of the season
01:27:55I can't wait to discover
01:27:56what they have to show us tomorrow
01:27:59for the free dance
01:28:00but with still
01:28:02a 9 points lead
01:28:04We can't wait to see
01:28:05who will be the champions
01:28:06of the International Fashion Week Canada
01:28:10They are missing a medal
01:28:12at the World Championships
01:28:14and they are not shy to say
01:28:15that they are looking for this one
01:28:17So I think they have the right vehicle
01:28:20in the rhythmic dance
01:28:22Let's see what they have to show us
01:28:24tomorrow for the free dance
01:28:27Elisabeth, thank you very much
01:28:29for being with me
01:28:30for the coverage of this event
01:28:33This is what concludes
01:28:34the rhythmic dance coverage
01:28:36On behalf of the production
01:28:37of Patinage Canada
01:28:38Here is Laurence Darvaux
