00:00A huge Thursday night football game to kick off week number eight of this 2024 NFL regular
00:10season because of last night's implications. Joe entering the Minnesota Vikings suffering
00:15their first loss of the year a Sunday ago, but in a great divisional duel against the
00:20Detroit Lions trying to show, hey, we're not just a flash in the pan. We are one of the
00:25top teams in the NFC, the Rams trying to shove away trade rumors and speculation about Matthew
00:33Stafford and Cooper Cup. And could the Rams be rebuilding by the time we reach the midway
00:38point of this NFL season? Well, the Rams resurrect their season last night with a huge home victory
00:45inside SoFi Stadium, 30 to 20. LA wins outright as a two and a half point underdog, a total
00:53that dropped throughout the day, going down to 46 and a half does go over a huge, huge
01:00victory for the Rams. And Joe, it really was a huge victory for the Rams with the return
01:07of their key contributors, both Puka, Nakua and Cooper Cup playing for the first time
01:12since early this season. Nakua barely played in the opener. Cup was injured week number
01:17two and a blowout loss in Arizona to have both back last night was monumental for LA.
01:25And regardless of what happened at the end, the Rams were going to win the football game.
01:29But what stinks, Joe, is that the Rams winning the football game is not going to be one of
01:33the main topics of conversation that you hear on this Friday morning, recapping a Thursday
01:39evening in Los Angeles. The Vikings had the football back down by eight in the final minute
01:45and a half. And Sam Darnold was sacked in his own end zone for a safety game over, except
01:52it was a blatant and I mean, blatant face mask by Byron Young on the tackle there of
01:58Sam Darnold that was missed right in front of the eyes of the head official last night
02:03in that football game. Minnesota was mad. They had every right to be again. Did it change
02:08the outcome? No. Did the official dictate the outcome in the ending? Yes. And that's
02:13a sad reality. But it is unfortunate. And, you know, I'll say this. I know the ref came
02:19out afterwards and that, you know, took the I missed it, he said. So he admitted that,
02:27you know, didn't try to make any excuse. He owned it, which is great. I mean, take personal
02:31responsibility for it. That's your job. We move on. Because let me those of you that
02:36did not watch the game. Let me explain to you why. In essence, that really had nothing
02:41to do with who won or lost this game. The reason the Rams won this game. It was great
02:46to have cup and the cooler back, but they won this game because the Rams defense is
02:51finally healthy. This was a Rams defense allowing a hundred and fifty two rushing yards a game.
02:57That's 30th in the league. They were allowing nearly five yards per carry during the start
03:03of the season. They come in last night and they take on a Aaron Jones who's been torching
03:09teams. He gets 58 yards on three yards per carry. And oh yeah, by the way, for a team
03:15that had 11 total sacks so far this season, they sacked Sam Donald three times, hit him
03:20six other times, caused them nothing but aggravation all night long. Yes. The Rams defense that
03:26showed up and that is why they were able to win that game regardless of what the rest
03:30did or did not do.
