00:00Hello, one of our powerful women of the evening.
00:04I mean, truly, that's what you've been celebrating all week, in fact, with your powerful women
00:09of Amelia Perez, your powerful women of Lioness.
00:11What does it mean to have so many powerful women in your life right now?
00:16It just means that I'm surrounded by women and power are just some of the traits that
00:23many, many, many women possess and give to each other.
00:28We give each other power to be our free agents, to be calm, to be kind, to be successful,
00:38to be in pain, to heal.
00:41We give each other so much power and I love when we come together and we're able to celebrate
00:47each other.
00:48I know Amy's one of your girls, too, so to be able to have this moment together must
00:52feel pretty nice.
00:53Yes, it does.
00:54It really does.
00:55I have to ask you about a man who does also make us feel powerful because I spoke with
00:59James Cameron, as you know, and we talked about you directing.
01:03He was gleeful, giddy about it, and what he said was, she's got way too much stray intellectual
01:09voltage.
01:10She might as well use it.
01:12What does it mean to have him ... He said, too, that you're going to be fantastic as
01:17a director.
01:18What does it mean for a director that I know you admire to see that in you as well?
01:24It means a lot.
01:25I feel like I've grown up before his eyes.
01:30He's witnessed me in so many phases of my life since I met him.
01:36It'll be almost 20 years.
01:38I'm grateful.
01:39I'm grateful that he's been a really good friend, a great guide, a phenomenal mentor,
01:45and a kick-ass boss.
01:48Well, he was telling me about the ... What is it that ... What's the workout that you
01:54guys were joking about when you're riding your ... I was trying to think of what it's
01:59called.
02:00You said something buns of steel.
02:01Yeah, yeah, buns of steel.
02:02Remember?
02:03I don't know.
02:04You're too young for this, but in the 80s and the early 90s, there was this amazing
02:07trainer that created this sort of workout routine for your bums, and it was called butts
02:13of steel.
02:15It was right around the time when I was becoming a teenager.
02:17My mom got me the videotape, and we used to play it, but I never ... I barely ever did
02:21it.
02:22I was busy doing ballet.
02:23Well, I will say, I have one last question for you because you've done about 15,000 interviews
02:27in the past few days.
02:28Okay, never gets old.
02:29Well, what is the one question that somebody hasn't asked you?
02:34Something that you've been itching to talk about that just hasn't come up in these interviews
02:38yet?
02:39Oh, my God.
02:42I wish I had five minutes to think about that.
02:44There's so many things that I haven't been asked because as a person, there's so many
02:49things about you that you never really get to fully, fully share.
02:53I'm happy that I'm getting to share a lot of impactful parts of me with everyone.
02:59Emilia really represents so much of what I do as an artist.
03:05Questions that I haven't been asked, I'm a very simple person.
03:08I talk about food every day.
03:12I plan my life around the meals and the kind of cravings that I have.
03:19If you ask me, what are you looking forward to having after tonight?
03:23There's always an end prize if you do all the work.
03:26Smash burger.
03:27I'm going to have a smash burger.
03:28That is what powerful women-
03:29Usually, I'm gluten free, but I'm going to have it with buns today.
03:33You deserve the bun today.
03:37Congratulations.
