00:0024 days down, 2 to go, bring on the multi-seed mega blitz of the state's south east.
00:07We could always be tight mate, but we're fighting hard to the end.
00:11Stephen Miles started on the Sunshine Coast, focused on babies.
00:17Just as well there are no votes here, the independent candidate for Caloundra was keen
00:22to meet him.
00:23What's his name?
00:24Stephen.
00:25Stephen isn't it?
00:26Yeah.
00:27Steve.
00:28It's a bit of a contrast.
00:2969-year-old Michael Jessop has been charged with unlawful stalking and possessing a weapon
00:34which he denies.
00:35I've been charged with stalking, apparently I'm a stalker.
00:39At this holiday park in Maroochydore, there were plenty of beach goers, but not many voters.
00:43We're on holiday to the New South Wales.
00:46We're not from Queensland, so you can't call us.
00:49This resident is.
00:50We're probably hoping for a change.
00:53We're from rural Queensland.
00:54I probably don't feel very heard out in that part of the world.
00:58I think what you've all seen of me over the last 10 months is I'm competitive and that
01:04I like to stay busy.
01:06The LNP leader was also keeping busy, confronting hecklers at this pre-polling booth.
01:10They don't believe you anymore mate, it's over.
01:12You're going to hold a conscience vote?
01:13Yes or no?
01:14They don't believe you anymore mate.
01:15Yes or no?
01:16They've seen the scam campaigns.
01:17Yes or no?
01:18They want a fresh start.
01:19He let his treasurer do the talking in Brisbane to reveal how the LNP would pay for its election
01:23promises expected to come in at $7.1 billion.
01:27They include $1 billion to lock in 50 cent fares, $150 million for youth justice early
01:32intervention and $27.5 million for free health checks for kindie kids.
01:38The Liberal National Government will not be borrowing to fund our election promises.
01:42A centrepiece of the LNP's plan is an in-house consultancy group.
01:46At a cost of $87 million over four years, the group is aimed at reining in the growth
01:51of external contractors, saving $7 billion and giving power back to public servants.
01:58The savings that the LNP propose to make don't exist.
02:02Debt is projected to come in at $171.3 billion by 2027-28.
02:08Under Labor it would be $176 billion.
02:11The LNP intends to claw back $925 million by axing the pioneer Burdekin pumped hydro
02:17project but it hasn't put a single dollar towards any smaller scale projects despite
02:22previously promising to explore such options.
02:25Let's get through the election first, have the discussions with Queensland Hydro, that's
02:30the appropriate thing.
02:31Today, David Crisofulli's pumped hydro hoax has been revealed.
02:36As for Labor, we already knew it had more than $9 billion in re-election commitments
02:40to be funded by borrowings.
02:43The headline costs $1.4 billion on free school lunches and more than $1 billion on 50 cent
02:48public transport fares.
02:50These election commitments are genuinely fully costed, they are genuinely fully funded.
02:57In far north Queensland, a snap poll was underway courtesy of Jack the Clairvoyant Croc, sizing
03:03up both leaders before making the call, perhaps biting off more than he could chew.
