00:00All right, so we finally shift off of the World Series and start talking about Pain
00:08Day because we've got football tonight, believe it or not, in the NFL.
00:14Yeah, absolutely.
00:15Week eight in the NFL gets started tonight.
00:17Minnesota and the Rams.
00:19Big time for the Rams.
00:20Both Pukenukuwa and Cooper Cup are expected back for the Rams.
00:24Still, Minnesota a two and a half point favorite, 48 and a half is the total here.
00:29We have Vikings quarterback who's really been one of the surprises of the season, Sam
00:32Darnold.
00:33Talk about returning to his home area for Thursday night football.
00:36Challenging week for us.
00:37Obviously a great LA team.
00:38Sam just told me too, I'm excited to go home for the first time with fans in attendance.
00:45I went back in 2020, but yeah, just excited to play these guys.
00:50Another really great opportunity for us to go and play a really good defense, a really
00:54good team.
00:56And yeah, just very, very excited for this opportunity on a short week.
01:03Look, I thought they met their maker on Sunday in Minneapolis and the Lions, I think, are
01:09better than the Vikings and the Vikings could have easily won that game, but they didn't.
01:14The Lions found a way and I think that's why they're favored to win the NFC.
01:20And I know a lot of people think it's automatic.
01:22It's the Niners.
01:23Let's face facts.
01:24I'll give you the Niners beat them.
01:27I'll give it to you.
01:28Fair enough.
01:29But they had no business beating the Lions in that game last year.
01:31The Lions blew that as bad as the Falcons blew the Super Bowl to Brady, up 25 points
01:37at the half.
01:38You cannot lose a game like that.
01:39That is the most embarrassing game in the history of the NFL.
01:42And I got to tell you, I think the second worst game I've ever seen was the Lions blowing
01:45that game against the Niners.
01:47The Niners are not as good, and you've already seen it, as the Lions this year.
01:51The Lions are the cream and they went to Minnesota and they beat them.
01:56They were undefeated.
01:57Now we'll see tonight, Dane, if they're, you know, for real, like, are they going to like
02:01remember the Saints?
02:02The Saints won two big games, scored almost 50 points, and then they lost five in a row.
02:07Will Minnesota reel off of that loss and lose again on the road to a Rams team, in my opinion,
02:14that stinks.
02:15I think this Rams team is, is awful when they played terrible.
02:19They blew that cover against the Raiders.
02:21I had the Raiders in seven and I think the Raiders are one of the three worst teams in
02:25the league, frankly, and the Rams could barely beat them.
02:29But I'll give you this.
02:30If they have Puka shells and cutback, they're going to be effective because those guys can
02:35really run roots and Stafford's amazing with those two receivers.
02:38They'll look like a different team tonight against the Vikings with those two actives.
02:42Yeah, I agree with you, Nakua Matata.
02:45It means no worries, right?
02:47But I'm also with you that the Detroit Lions are the best team in the NFC.
02:52I think they have one of the best offenses in the NFL and don't look now, Jared Goff
02:56is completing 83% of his passes over the last four games.
03:00He's a, he's an MVP candidate if you want to know the truth at seven to one.
03:05And there's an interesting stat, Scotty, teams the week after they play the Detroit Lions,
03:11they defecate the mattress against the spread.
03:14So keep that in mind as well.
03:16Matthew Stafford talking about the challenge of facing those Minnesota Vikings and especially
03:21that top type defense.
03:22Um, you know, I think they're really physical unit, um, physical and fast, um, try to, uh,
03:30you know, force their hand on the offense and, and, uh, play with a lot of confidence
03:33when they do that.
03:34You know, they've got a bunch of smart, savvy players in the backend and some guys up front
03:38that rush the passer and stop the run at a high level.
03:41So, uh, that combination is, is what makes them good.
03:43Look, I think Flores has a good defense.
03:47I like O'Connell.
03:48I like their receivers.
03:50I think the Vikings are flat out better than the Rams, but I think it's a very dangerous
03:55game to bet.
03:56I've already said this week on C2C, I like the Vikings to get it done, but I won't do
04:02it without reservation.
04:03All right.
04:04Fair enough.
04:05Yeah.
04:06I'm, I'm a little bit nervous about this one as well.
04:08I agree with you.
04:09The Vikings are a better team, but all of a sudden with Cup and Nakua back, it could
04:13look a lot different and I don't make it a habit to bet on the road team on Thursday
04:17night football, Scotty.
04:18So what are we doing here?
04:21You see the board.
04:22It's a three point favorite.
04:2345 and a half is what it says here.
04:24No, 48 and a half is what I'm seeing now.
04:28Is there anything you like in this game that you haven't already given the people?
04:31Yeah, no.
04:32Uh, you know, I think it's, um, you know, Vikings, I'm laying it and what, what's the
04:39total?
04:40I don't know.
04:4148 and a half.
04:4248 and a half.
04:43Yeah.
04:44Listen, uh, I think they can go over that number.
04:48These both of these, there's a lot of these, they let it fly these teams.
04:53Let's face facts.
04:54Both of these teams throw the ball nonstop.
04:56The Vikings have great receivers.
04:58So do the Rams and both quarterbacks have great arms and they know how to get it on.
05:03So let's see if, you know, let's face it.
05:06No one saw this coming from Darnold.
05:08He's never been good.
05:10Now all of a sudden the guy's throwing it all over the place, slinging it.
05:12And I think that's because of the, the, the routes that he's got from these receivers
05:17that they're running for him are giving him time and wide open space to hit.
05:23So that's why they've been so effective.
05:24And then defensively, Flores has all kinds of great schemes and he certainly knows what
05:29he's doing, whether people like him or not, what he's done with his career.
05:32The guy can flat out coach defense.
05:34There's no doubt about it.
05:35So I'll look, I'm going to go high risk here with an over and the Vikings, it's just a
05:40high risk bet.
05:41That's all there is to it.
05:42All right.
05:43Fair enough.
05:44I might take the other side.
05:45I told you about teams after they played Detroit.
05:48I don't like the road team usually on Thursday night football.
05:51Let's get into some of the props.
05:52I'm in for Carver high, but we still have some of Carver's highs props for this game.
05:58We're going to put them up in a second.
05:59I'll tell you one that I like personally, Jordan Addison, not Justin Jefferson, Jordan
06:03Addison, who is the number two receiver for Minnesota.
06:07His receiving prop is only 40 and a half yards in this one.
06:10I think they go over Sam Darnold.
06:13You were talking about it.
06:14I think it's the play calling Scotty.
06:16I think it's O'Connell calling plays.
06:17That is really what's unlocked Sam Darnold here.
06:20If you want to know the truth, he has something like the most deep throws in the NFL, completing
06:2560% of his deep throws.
06:27I think some of them are going to go to Addison who plays the over the top role.
06:30I like Addison over 40 and a half receiving yards.
06:33We have some of Carver's as well.
06:34I think we have his touchdown props that we'll get up here.
06:37Look, Cooper cup, first touchdown at eight to one JJ getting in there and then two to
06:42at well getting in.
06:43Although I will say Carver probably put this one in before knowing that cup and the cool
06:47would be back.
06:48Yeah, I think you're right about that because two to was getting the burn before that he'll
06:53get way less this time, but this guy has been hitting it Evans on Monday night at nine to
06:58one for the first study.
07:00So I like his other two plays there without a doubt.
07:03I love your call on Addison.
07:05I think he'll have a big game.
07:06Not only that, I like him with an anytime Teddy as well.
07:09And I want to see Puka shells get back in the end zone.
07:13I want to see Stafford hit him for a tidy.
