00:00Hi, we are Sophie Davey and Pete Davey from the Rogate Pumpkin Patch.

00:06We've been running the Pumpkin Patch for 10 years, this is our 10th year we're celebrating.

00:11And to celebrate we grew sunflowers in our sunflower patch.

00:15And along with that obviously we have all the normal things that you expect when you

00:20come to the Pumpkin Patch. We've got loads of activities, lots of Instagram,

00:23all sorts of installations, wondrous for little kids and of course pumpkin picking.

00:30Which you can see behind us, the patch.

00:34So tell me what the reaction's been like since you opened?

00:36We opened last Friday, beautiful day, we were blessed with the weather,

00:40Friday and Saturday and it's been ongoing, wonderful, wonderful, amazing reaction and

00:46support from all our community locally and from Portsmouth and Southampton and we've

00:53had people down from London. I mean a really, really great reaction.

00:59Tell me, is there anything new this year?

01:02Yeah, new things this year. We tried to grow some sunflowers last year but

01:06we kind of got the timing wrong. But this year, by probably more than judgement,

01:12they have come out and bloomed. So we have sunflowers at the end of October,

01:15which is a bit of a niche. We've got an area called Dig It, where the kids can get in and

01:21just dig. We've got all sorts of stuff there, tables around the outside, mum and dad can watch.

01:28We've got a lot of the normal stuff that you might have seen before but if you haven't been before,

01:32we have all sorts of installations, magical houses to explore, a maze maze.

01:39A very beautiful pumpkin garden.

01:41Yeah, the pumpkin garden is an amazing thing for tiny little kids.

01:45Babies, we've had sort of six-week-old babies and there's extraordinary installations that

01:51you can put your baby into to take a photo. Yes, very beautiful, very special moments

01:57to create those memories. Another thing to celebrate our 10th year is that this year,

02:03as Halloween is on the Thursday, we are open Friday and Saturday where everything will be the

02:09same. All the same installations, all the rides, everything will be the same. However, as an extra,

02:14free of charge, we are going to set something up so that you can come and smash pumpkins. We're

02:20going to set things up so you can either smash them, you can chuck them, you can sling them or

02:25you can throw them at spikes. And it's just a way of smashing them up so that when you've all left

02:31and when we've packed up the site, the cows can come and eat. Or winter, or grazing them.
