00:00It was a big day for basketball fans all over the world as the NBA returned for the 2024 to 2025 regular season.

00:08For all the highlights and insights, here's Rafael Bandaire.

00:14Jason Tatum and the rest of the Boston Celtics flexed against Atlantic Division rival the New York Knicks

00:21in their opening game Wednesday morning, Manila time.

00:25Tatum scored 37 points to carry his team to a commanding 132-109 win.

00:32This came after a triumphant pregame ceremony that saw Boston celebrate their record-breaking 18th championship.

00:40It was apparent that Joe Mazula's team picked up where they had left off last season.

00:45Four of the Celtics' five starters posted double-digit scores, highlighting the squad's patented team play.

00:52Also victorious on opening night are the Los Angeles Lakers,

00:56the purple and blue protected home court against the title-contending Minnesota Timberwolves.

01:01The Lakers snapped a seven-game season opener losing streak, defeating the Wolves 110-103.

01:08All-star center Anthony Davis carried the load on both ends of the floor,

01:13finishing the night with 36 points on 11-4, 23 shooting from the field, 16 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 blocks.

01:21But the biggest story of the night, no doubt, is LeBron James sharing the court with his son,

01:26Bronny James, in their first ever official NBA game together.

01:30It's the first time in league history that a father and son duo had played together.

01:35It's family. It's always been family over everything.

01:39For me, I lost a lot of time because of this league and committing to this league,

01:45being on the road at times, missing a lot of his things, Bryce's things, Zuri's things.

01:50So to be able to have this moment where I'm working still and I can work alongside my son,

01:54it's one of the greatest gifts I've ever got from the man above and I'm going to take full advantage of it.

01:59NBA action resumes tomorrow with a 10-game slate which will feature the opening games of powerhouse teams

02:06including the Philadelphia 76ers, the Golden State Warriors, and the Phoenix Suns.
