00:00Let's flip it over here to the NFL regular season MVP, Lamar Jackson has two of them.
00:08Lamar Jackson has absolutely skyrocketed over the past, what, 72 hours to a week last week
00:15when it was Patrick Mahomes, he didn't have great statistics, but his team was just winning
00:18football games.
00:19We were waiting to see if somebody would take the bull by the horns and say, you know what?
00:23My football team is going to start winning and I'm going to start putting up big numbers.
00:26Lamar Jackson on Monday Night Football against Tampa Bay, five touchdown passes.
00:31He now sits at a plus 195 on the season to win his third MVP, Dubsy.
00:37Let's start right there.
00:38Lamar, ready to take on that rocket ship.
00:41He's now the leader in the clubhouse.
00:42Do we agree on that?
00:44Yeah, absolutely.
00:45In search of a third MVP in his sixth season, truly special stuff.
00:50He's putting Baltimore on his back right now.
00:51They've got that one-two punch with Derrick Henry and a really scary offense in trying
00:56to go against.
00:57And plus 195, that number is far too short for Patrick Mahomes, a plus 470.
01:01I'm not going near that number.
01:03For Patty Mahomes, the only stat that he is concerned about is that win column.
01:07So I think that's probably going to hurt his chances.
01:09I'd be looking towards the next two in line.
01:11Josh Allen, now that he's got a star number one wide receiver in Amari Cooper, if the
01:16bills stay relevant in their playoff chances, it's going to be thanks in big part to Josh
01:21Allen and everything he's doing out there on the gridiron.
01:25And for Detroit, Jared Goff, he is having a career best season.
01:29The numbers he is putting up, the efficiency that we're seeing with his football, that
01:33maturity in the pocket, I think that's where the value lies on this sport.
01:36You cannot touch Lamar Jackson at plus 195.
01:40This is a market that's going to be in flux going through the next month here.
01:43I think Allen and Goff make sense as the price plies.
01:46I'm telling you, it's a quarterback award.
01:48It really is because you're looking at the first dozen or so players, all quarterbacks
01:53here.
01:54Lamar Jackson absolutely in front and center right here at the quarterback market because
01:58Patrick Mahomes, we understand he might go down as the best quarterback to ever play
02:01football, but the statistics aren't there this year.
02:04Yes, they're winning football games, more defense than offense.
02:06But when you look at Lamar Jackson, the Baltimore Ravens, that team is absolutely on it right
02:10now.
02:11We're going to see a couple of Lamar Jackson, of course, with his legs and his arm, and
02:15then Derrick Henry as well, which I'm going to get to in just a few moments.
02:17Mahomes at plus 470, Allen at plus 650, Jared Goff at 7-1, Jordan Love at 12-1, Joe Burrow
02:2414-1 at this point here, and then you get down the list with other quarterbacks that
02:28are lying in wait.
02:29Now, when you start to get to some positional players, they're having sensational seasons.
02:34Derrick Henry doing the MVP.
02:36He's 50-1 right now.
02:37Saquon Barkley doing the MVP.
02:39He's 80-1 right now.
02:42They are severe long shots.
02:43If Christian McCaffrey can't come up from last year and win the MVP, or if you're looking
02:46at somebody else, do we think that it's possible in any way, shape, or form, Dubsy, that we
02:52see one of these running backs, whether it be Henry or Barkley, creep higher in the standings,
02:56and by the time we reevaluate this in December, 20-1 or less, or no?
03:01It's just the quarterbacks.
03:02They're going to run away from this thing.
03:04It's going to quarterback, Donnie.
03:06It's a done deal.
03:07I was going to entertain any running back flying up this board.
03:11King Henry, if he continues to stuff the numbers that we've been seeing there, once he lead
03:16the league in carries, in rush yards, 180, 873 once it's all said and done.
03:24They're already coming into week eight.
03:25So, Derrick Henry, he's been absolutely monster with eight touchdowns to match, but I just
03:29don't think it's going to be there once it's all said and done.
03:32For the running backs, they're getting beat up week in, week out, and he's trying to split
03:36that workload with Lamar Jackson, who's always going to take that shine.
03:40If the Ravens are in the mix, you're going to look at the quarterback more so than the
03:44running back, despite both of them being fantastic in standouts from what we have seen at this
03:48point in the season.
03:49So, I'd lean towards the quarterbacks getting it done.
03:52Derrick Henry maybe as a bit of a market mover, if you will, but I just don't think he's got
03:57that in his reach.
03:59And by the way, you look at Jared Goff, only a 7-1 price, and rightfully so.
04:02I still think he's a little bit disrespected because of, oh, well, he's got great wide
04:06receivers and a great offensive line and a great tight end and two great running backs
04:09here.
04:10He's been nothing short of absolutely spectacular.
04:12And I talk about so many times, Dubs, in these type of markets, the extracurriculars that
04:16you get.
04:17If Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions end up winning the NFC's best record, get that number
04:22one seed here, he's definitely going to be the factor.
04:25Same thing with Patrick Mahomes.
04:26If Mahomes ends the season at, I don't know, 16-1, but doesn't have the statistics of Lamar
04:31Jackson, could he overtake him at this point?
04:33So, so many things to talk about, but I'm going to talk about one more as we head into
04:37break.
04:38Come on, Steelers backers, where are you at?
04:41400-1 for Russell Wilson to be the MVP this season, Dubs.
