Are Walsall now serious promotion contenders?

00:00Let's look at the table, because last night put Warsaw in second, as we said, two points

00:08behind Port Vale, 46 games in a season, so he's played just over a quarter of the season

00:15now, and Warsaw have won 8 from 12, drawn 1, lost 3.

00:22Still a lot of time to go, but from what you've seen so far, are Warsaw serious promotion

00:29contenders?

00:30I would say so. I mean, at the start of the season, there were lots of question marks.

00:36They went into the season with just Josh Gordon and Jamil Matas, fit strikers. They've now,

00:41you know, the attacking options look endless, as we've spoken about, and I think that strength

00:46in depth will help protect them. So yeah, I think they are serious contenders, to be

00:52honest, and I think the way they've started the season, and again, I say it's very early

00:59doors, so not too many early shenanigans, but the way they've started the season should

01:04give them the confidence to try and at least push for those automatics, but yeah, I mean,

01:09in terms of this start, they should really at least be targeting those play-off positions,

01:16but yeah, promotion's going to definitely be on the mind, and I think they've established

01:20themselves as serious contenders. I mean, the performances they're putting in at the

01:23moment and the goals they've scored, I mean, that 6-2 defeat against Fleetwood, which was

01:28just feels like a really random result now, especially with the way they responded. I

01:32said after that game, the key is how they respond, and seven points from nine since,

01:40nine goals in those games, and two really good performances in the last two. So it feels

01:46like, you know, rather than that being the beginning of their demise, they've shaken

01:50that off pretty quickly and got back on board. So yeah, I think, you know, still very early,

01:55anything can happen in the season. Walsall fans know that all too well. The Michael Flynn

01:59second half of the season, season before last, is just a recent example of how things can

02:07change in a season, but it feels like this Walsall team is very different to that one.

02:13And yeah, you know, long may it continue.
