00:23Thousands of residents in the province of Albay were evacuated due to the rain

00:29caused by Hurricane Christine.

00:31According to Acting Governor Glenda Bungao,

00:33the Department of Education and the local government

00:37have already assisted in using the schools as evacuation centers for the affected residents.

00:43Bungao explained,

00:44the flood became a challenge for the responders to protect the residents.

00:50The local government also implemented a pre-emptive evacuation

00:55to all the families living near the Mayon Volcano

00:59even before the lahar flow occurred.

01:02In the province of Kamali Albay,

01:03where there are already seven river channels connected to the Mayon Volcano,

01:08almost 3,000 residents were evacuated

01:11while living in evacuation centers.

01:14In the province of Dinubatan Albay,

01:16where there are already two main river channels,

01:19more than 7,000 families,

01:21or more than 2,800 people,

01:24were evacuated due to the flood and lahar flow.

01:27The power supply of the province of Albay is no longer available.

01:31Also, only a few locations have strong signal and internet connection.

01:37In total, more than 134,000 individuals were evacuated.
