00:00Let's visit a museum that is like a time capsule
00:04because inside it, it's like you're going back in time.
00:07It contains the stories of our heroes and important events in our country.
00:11Here, you will also see various artifacts, documents, and memorabilia
00:17that give life to the origins of our history
00:20from ancient times to modern times.
00:24And now, let's visit the San Juan Museum
00:27right here in Tipit Drims.
00:30Do you want a new trip idea that you will surely learn but there is a little mystery?
00:38There are some walking visitors who say that someone is giving them a random.
00:43Let's go back in time together to learn about the origin of the old water supply in San Juan.
00:50What? Are we vlogging already?
00:53From Monumento, let's just ride Line 1 and go down to Doroteo.
00:58It's only 20 pesos.
01:00After going down to Doroteo, let's cross to LRT Line 2 and go down to Recto.
01:06Just walk to the bus station and get your 15 pesos ready.
01:11And get on the bus that we are waiting for to go to Pinaglabanan Street in San Juan.
01:16Once you're down, walk again and get ready to visit NHCP Museo El Deposito.
01:25We are here at Museo El Deposito,
01:30one of the museums under the management of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines.
01:34This museum shows the history of the water supply of Manila in the 19th century.
01:39This is the first pipeline water system of Manila during the Spanish period.
01:44Here in the museum, we can see different artifacts, collections, displays
01:49related to the start of the water supply of Manila during the Spanish period.
01:53They were built from the 1860s to 1882.
01:57Half of the three galleries of the museum where you can see in Gallery 1
02:01is the history of the Carriedo Water System.
02:04But of course, we are not experts in history, so let's leave it to Sir.
02:09So this is the inside of Carriedo.
02:11Its full name is Francisco Carriedo Iperido,
02:15where he arrived in Manila in 1722.
02:20His name is Carriedo Fountain
02:23because he donated P10,000 to the City of Manila
02:26so that Manila can have a water system.
02:29Aside from the water fountain,
02:31you can also see different filtration systems used in the early period
02:36such as water hydrants from Scotland,
02:39wooden water filter with wool and cotton,
02:43and the old filter that uses flowers and tapioca.
02:47So the flowers are just filled here.
02:50When the water is filtered, there is a hole at the bottom.
02:53It pops out when the tapioca is filled.
02:55The tapioca is filtered by the water in the container of the day.
02:58This is called tapaya.
03:00You can also see in another gallery
03:02the model of the fought Memorial Sign
03:05and the approved plan of the water system in Manila,
03:09which leads us to our next destination, the El Depósito.
03:14But before we go, safety first, Amigo!
03:18Now, we will go down to the underground water reservoir.
03:22In the 18th century, the El Depósito was full of water.
03:27There was no water in the flooring and on the top.
03:29So we just put water in it
03:31so that we can go inside until the end.
03:34The El Depósito is 5 hectares wide
03:37and can be found right under the fought shrine
03:41where you can see the 25 canals or tunnels
03:45that can embank 56,000 cubic meters
03:49or more than 50 million gallons of water in the first period.
03:53So just keep walking.
03:56But don't look around.
03:59Maybe you'll see something you shouldn't see.
04:02But they say...
04:05There's nothing to show.
04:07There are some visitors who say
04:10that someone is praying for them.
04:12But we don't feel anything here in the morning.
04:16It's better to be clear, right?
04:19The El Depósito Museum is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
04:24Tuesdays to Sundays.
04:26And don't worry because the entrance is free here.
04:29So it's really tight on your budget and it fits your schedule.
04:33For those who want to visit the museum,
04:37if you're alone or less than 10,
04:40you can walk in here.
04:42But for large groups, more than 10 packs,
04:45we suggest that you email us at med.nhcp.gov.th
04:50so that we can cater the tour and we can assist you in the tour of the museum.
04:54We invite everyone to visit the NHCP Museum El Depósito
04:58here in the fought memorial shrine in Nuan City.
05:01We're open Tuesday to Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
05:04The entrance to our museum is free.
05:06So, are you game here?
05:09Because we'll be back next time on Tip and Trips.
