00:00You know what happened here of course, Stanton hit the two run homer to get this game 2-2.
00:12Game goes to extras, both teams seemingly running out of decent arms and then Juan Soto
00:19getting involved against Gattis and by the way every reliever on Cleveland is just the
00:24best guy in the world if you were listening to all these broadcasts the last few days
00:27but it didn't matter because Soto took care of Gattis on Saturday night.
00:32Here it is WFAN in New York.
00:34The one-two, swung on a high fly to center.
00:38Back goes Thomas on the track, he's at the wall and she's gone!
00:43A three run home run, the Yankee bench comes on the field.
00:48Wow!
00:49What a Soto photo!
00:51A long high, high fly to deep right center and out!
00:58He's wonderful, marvelous, a three run blast by Soto with two outs here in the 10th and
01:08the Yankees now take a 5-2 lead and they're three outs away from going to the World Series.
01:15I'll tell you what, that was entertaining and everything but it wasn't nearly that week
01:21of a call with Bryan Anderson.
01:24I mean he knew right when he hit it, he was like, this ball is deep, this ball is gone
01:31and the guy that did the best call, I don't think I sent it to you, it was the Spanish
01:35guy that they use.
01:36Oh, Ricky Ricardo.
01:38Ricky Ricardo was the greatest call ever.
01:40I didn't understand a word of it but it was, and I took five years of Spanish, I slept
01:45with my Spanish teacher at Indiana University to get a C-.
01:48I just wanted to say, are we on the air?
01:50Don't talk about bang, wait, what?
01:52No.
01:53All right, so Ricky Ricardo's call of it was sensational but I thought Sterling, as usual,
01:58loses it in the lights.
01:59Is there a high, pop, foul?
02:00He really didn't have a lot of gas behind him.
02:04Yeah, no gas.
02:05They got to send him packing.
02:07Are they really going to send him to Los Angeles?
02:10He's marvelous.
02:12He's giving you like the show tunes.
02:15John, come on.
02:16He's so wonderful.
02:17Now look, that is by far, and John's done a lot of homerun calls for a lot of guys in
02:22the last 50 years, that's, the Soto one is not good.
02:26Now you can't get, it's hard, you can't recreate the magic of burn, baby, burn or you know
02:32any of that, like that stuff, he just doesn't have it with Soto.
02:35Soto he doesn't have.
02:36Whatever.
02:37That's it.
02:38The same with that.
02:39That was weak.
02:40The Soto three run homer sends the Yankees to the World Series on Saturday night.
02:45They go back for the first time since 2009, when they of course won that year.
02:51Aaron Boone has had, he's knocked on the door, this was his third crack at trying to get
02:56to the World Series in the ALCS, finally does it.
03:00So proud of this team.
03:01So proud.
03:02What does it feel like?
03:03It's amazing.
03:05It really is.
03:08You know, you pour so much into it, right?
03:13All year.
03:14Not just, not just the baseball season.
03:16It doesn't stop in the winter and the spring and you know, you pour so much into it.
03:22And I couldn't be more proud to do it with this organization.
03:25You know, the Steinbrenner family has been amazing to me.
03:30Getting to work with Brian Cashman, who's been amazing to me and all his front office.
03:34And then the guys I get to go to work with every day.
03:37My coaches and these players.
03:40That's why you do it.
03:42And this is a, we've had some great groups, some great camaraderies, some great clubhouses.
03:47This group is as close as I've ever seen.
03:51And they trust each other, they lean on each other, they love each other.
03:55They play for each other.
03:57And those are special things to have in a team sport.
04:04There's nothing like having our team in the World Series.
04:06There really isn't.
04:07And you know, the Evil Empire, it's so awesome that they're back.
04:13And you know, I've loved them my whole life.
04:17Even when I was a little kid, I just thought, you know, Reggie Jackson and I mean, it went
04:22on and on.
04:23Dave Winfield, Gossage, you know, Guidry.
04:29So many of them.
04:30I could just sit here and go on.
04:32We've talked about Mickey Rivers.
04:34There's been so many Chambliss.
04:36There's been so many guys, Munson.
04:38It just goes on and on and on and on.
04:41And you can love a team like that.
04:43Like I like George Brett.
04:45I always loved the Yankees and I love the Pirates.
04:47It's that simple.
04:49And it's fair to do that.
04:50I have no problem doing that.
04:52I have a National League team.
04:53I have an American League team.
04:54I've lived in New York for almost 30 years.
04:57And I've gone to Yankee Stadium 5 million times.
05:00And I've been a part of a lot of their championship seasons.
05:04And it's just great having them in it.
05:06It's just great that our team's in it and Mavia's isn't.
