00:54But first this – a footballer who received racist abuse at Gillingham's Priestfield
01:00Stadium is spearheading the EFL's relaunched Together Against Racism campaign.
01:05Omar Bogle was playing for Newport County in League Two last season when a 28-year-old
01:10spectator was charged with racially aggravated intentional harassment after making monkey
01:16gestures from the stands.
01:17The striker says empowering people to use their voice around experiences of racial discrimination
01:22is the vehicle to drive change.
01:52The Gillingham spectator was ordered to pay £200 in compensation and was issued with
02:13a lifetime ban.
02:15Now at the time Gillingham said in a statement that there is no place for any manner of discriminatory,
02:20offensive or abusive behaviour of language of any time inside their ground.
02:25The relaunched EFL campaign continues this week when Newport will be returning to Priestfield
02:29tomorrow night.
02:30We'll of course have the usual football highlights shortly from Gillingham's weekend
02:34action.
02:36Next Oldfield motorsport driver Josh Smith managed to rise from the ashes to secure a
02:41tight victory at the Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch this weekend.
02:45The former British GT racer has won the event once before but was fourth on the grid right
02:51until the very end.
02:52In an unexpected twist, his victory was confirmed hours after the chequered flag was waved.
02:58After several drivers collided, a safety car was forced to come onto the track and another
03:02driver was forced to retire, meant that by driving cleanly without major collision, Smith
03:07was able to claim victory despite the wet conditions.
03:11And it's a special day for the country's rugby fans after a Kent derby between Tonbridge
03:16Juddians and Canterbury in the National League 2 East.
03:20The Juddians continued their domination of the league after recording their seventh win
03:24in a row, despite Canterbury getting the first point on the board.
03:28The visiting team also managed to get within nine points with 17 minutes left on the clock
03:33but the hosts just didn't want to give up their win streak.
03:35They powered through to a ridiculous final score of 40 points to 24 in favour of the Juddians.
03:42Well, I don't play rugby but I would be really impressed if that was me on that pitch.
03:47Well, now it's time for a trip to Gilliam's own ice hockey team, the Invicta Dynamos.
03:52It was a tough weekend for the Dynamos after taking the time to travel down as far as Wales,
03:57where they did manage a comfortable victory over Cardiff Fire but suffered a narrow defeat
04:02against the Swindon Wildcats.
04:04Head coach Carl Lennon was frustrated that the team returned with only the one win under
04:09their belt and said we have to fight the fights first and we didn't win those fights on Sunday.
04:13The Dynamos play bottom side Milton Keynes Thunder this Sunday, a team they recently
04:18beat 2-1 so expectations will be high.
04:24Now let's take a look back at this weekend's football results, where Mark Bonner's Gillingham
04:29were hoping to bounce back after three home losses on the bounce with a Priestfield match
04:34against Accrington Stanley.
04:36Meanwhile, Jake LeBerle's Dover Athletic were at home with Hashtag United, where a
04:41win could put them on the top of the Isthmian Premier standings.
04:44Well here's this week's highlights.
04:47Well we're kicking off this week's football round up down in Dover who are visited by
04:51Hashtag United FC.
04:53Now they're quite a young club at only 8 years old and you might have seen them on YouTube.
04:58Well the Whites didn't hang about, careful to keep possession they traded passes across
05:03the box with Ruben Soares Jr. laying it to Alfie Matthews who leathers it from outside
05:07of the box to find the bottom corner, putting Dover 1-0 up in only the second minute.
05:13Well the Tags didn't give up, a line-breaking pass from the midfield found the boots of
05:17Sakaria Hassan who worked his way into the box and scored in that bottom right corner
05:21almost like he was saying we can do it too, to the absolute joy of the away crowd.
05:28Well only six minutes on and what would have been a beautiful goal by Luke Baptiste was
05:32denied by the post.
05:34Well they didn't have to wait long for another, an absolutely extraordinary strike from what
05:39must have been about 25 yards out by Harrison Pont puts the Whites a goal ahead.
05:44Dover simply could not stop their engine, a long ball finds a runner who lays it off
05:49to Luke Baptiste who just stretches to catch a piece of it and manages to just dink it
05:54into the net.
05:55The half starts a little bit slower but in the 83rd minute, Hashtag are having to stay
05:59back to fend off Dover who are hungry for another but they just aren't tight enough
06:04and it's another screamer of a strike from outside of the box from George Nekaj that
06:08just goes out of the keeper's reach in the top right corner to make four goals, a ridiculous
06:14curving shot.
06:15In extra time a swooping cross from the right side is just too high for Joe Tennant but
06:20is headed in by Max Cornhill as a late consolation for them to take home and with that the
06:25intense shootout between Dover Athletic and Hashtag United ends, four goals to two.
06:31Now elsewhere in the Itmian Premier, Chatham drew 2-2 against Potters Bar at home, Folkestone
06:36snatched an away win thanks to an own goal by Canvey Island, lucky Folkestone there.
06:41Well in the Itmian Premier table this puts Dover in first place on equal points with
06:46Billericay Town who still have a game in hand.
06:49Well back up to League 2 and the Gilles recorded their fourth loss in a row after such a good
06:54start to the season.
06:55It's such a shame and I'm sure their fans will be disappointed.
06:58Well here's what Gilles' boss Mark Bonner had to say after the crushing defeat.
07:02We were really pleased with the intent in that game.
07:05In the early part of the game obviously we picked a team that was a big team and a physical
07:10team to try and make ourselves as robust as possible against a really physical team.
07:15So for a game that was like a lot of big aggressive players and a good football match really,
07:22a good aggressive English football match, there weren't many bad tackles but there seemed
07:26to be shed loads of yellow cards which was a bit crazy and I felt like that just lost
07:31the rhythm of the game and the game became more emotional in the first half than it needed
07:35to be just from some erratic decisions really.
07:38And in the table this means the Gilles drop down to sixth place below Bradford.
07:43Well in the National League it's another sad day for all you Ebbsfleet fans out there.
07:48Four scored against them with no goals to show for their efforts.
07:51This lands them dead last at 24th.
07:54They will need to start making some kind of change to get out of relegation.
07:58And in the National League South it was a bit more even with Maidstone drawing at home
08:02to Slough and Tonbridge suffering a loss away at Worthing.
08:06Maidstone remained hovering just around that lower level of the mid-table while Tonbridge
08:10sit just slightly higher and safer at 11.

09:09As the crowds pile in and the tension builds, the stage is set here at the jewel of Kent
09:19Motorsport, Brands Hatch circuit.
09:21Five drivers are still in with a possibility of taking the British Touring Car Championship
09:26title for this year but there's only one local man looking to grab his first.
09:31Can Platte Heath's Jake Hill finally get his hand on a championship trophy after a wait
09:36of more than 10 years?
09:39After qualifying sixth for the first of the day's three races, Kent's Jake Hill was instantly
09:43on the back foot to stay in front in the title battle but thankfully for him the drama of
09:48the championship fight came as early as the starting lights.
09:51As three of the five drivers in with a chance of taking it came together on the opening
09:56lap leaving Hill's closest rival Tom Ingram down in seventh while Hill himself was able
10:01to pass into first after a hectic start to the day.
10:05On to race two then and starting where they'd finished in race one, Hill was overtaken early
10:09into the second lap and just didn't have enough in the tank to fight back against the charging
10:14Ingram, leaving a tense podium celebration as the pair knew exactly what it meant.
10:19One point apart and still all to win going into the very final race of the season.
10:32So as the cars took their position on the grid for the final race, it was the team's
10:36spirit that came to the forefront.
10:37Months of hard work, tough battles and consistent belief all came down to this.
10:43Starting in sixth, one place ahead of Tom Ingram, the damp conditions meant it was a
10:47tricky start for Jake's rear wheel driven BMW which was immediately overtaken.
10:52That was until the fourth lap when an all or nothing outside overtake seemed to be the
10:56difference for Hill who continued his crusade to the end climbing up to fourth and suddenly
11:02the championship had fallen into his hands.
11:09Emotional, proud, emotional, fantastic job by the team and just extremely happy, happy
11:23The first driver from Kent to take the championship crown in Kent since 1960.
11:36From his first race in 2013 to a victory back where it all started, Jake Hill becomes champion.

11:48Well it looks like we've reached half time which means it is time for a break.
11:52But coming up we'll be hearing from Kent Police's new sporting initiative to help
11:56youngsters on the Isle of Sheppey.

14:52Hello and welcome back to Invicta Sport live on KMTV.
15:18Now the Isle of Sheppey has a problem.
15:21Young people loitering around its town centre with many residents complaining to the local
15:25police that there's just nothing for young people to do.
15:28Well the local police decided to sort the problem out themselves getting £5,000 from
15:33a police budget to set up a community football programme.
15:35I went down to find out more.
15:38Wake up, go to school and then, well in Sheppey young people don't really know.
15:43Teenagers often don't have anything to do after school with many hanging around the
15:47local McDonalds for cheap food and free Wi-Fi.
15:50Well when residents complained about local teenagers not having anything to do, I think
15:54the last thing they expected was for the local constable to set up a fiver side arena in
15:58the park.
15:59With standard activities like cadets and sports clubs costing money, PC Hughes wanted to give
16:04the community something they could do for free.
16:06It's quite an impoverished area so people said it costs money to do those things and
16:11not everyone can afford that so we got in contact with Sports Connect who just basically
16:17organise free sports sessions in the community, asked them how much it would be to fund them
16:24to come in and do a programme in Sheerness and then through the Home Office budget we've
16:29got to tackle kind of hot spots for antisocial behaviour.
16:32We've managed to secure some funding for a 12 week programme in Sheerness which is what's
16:37running at the moment.
16:38The intention was also to target young people they knew were engaging in antisocial behaviour
16:43and low-level criminal offences, delivering letters to parents and inviting the teenagers
16:47to the sessions.
16:49The activity was originally going to run until the end of October, but Sports Connect extended
16:53them until at least Christmas and have begun plans to set up a similar scheme in Minster
16:58after reports of antisocial behaviour in the area.
17:01Over 100 young people so far have taken part across the time the sessions have run, with
17:06no pre-booking required and any age allowed to turn up and play.
17:10The constables received £5,000 from the Hotspot Policing Problem Solving Budget to address
17:14the issue, teaming up with Sports Connect, an organisation that provides sports as a
17:19way to bring communities together and create opportunities for those in Kent.
17:23So we've had various age groups come down, we've had as young as six, we've had some
17:28of the older children come down as well.
17:31It's been a real mixed age and ability and they've all really gelled together as they've
17:37taken part in the project.
17:38Over each week we've seen a group that's consistently come down, they've engaged really well with
17:43us at Sports Connect.
17:46We've really got to know a bit more about them as well and opportunities that we can
17:49provide further beyond these sessions, so it's really exciting to grow that rapport
17:53with the young people over here.
17:56The organisers have seen some young people see the event, take part and become regulars,
18:00who attend after school on a Wednesday and will talk to the officers, which they say
18:04helps the community feel of the scheme.
18:06With the event being free and on every week, they say it can provide consistency to young
18:10people who lack structure in their day to day and has changed the behaviour of some
18:15for the better.

18:20Next the latest of Kent's Halloween events, wrestling show Invasion of the Body Slammers
18:25is coming up this weekend in Margate.
18:27Earlier I spoke to TK Cooper and Jordan Brakes, two wrestlers who will be tag teaming into
18:32the ring about the event itself, the state of Kent's wrestling and who exactly thought
18:36up that Body Slammers pun.
18:39Well thank you both for joining me.
18:41So I'll start with you TK, can you tell us a bit about the event, what we might be able
18:45to expect?
18:46Sure, so this Saturday the 26th of October we, myself and Jordan and a bunch of other
18:54people are hosting a professional wrestling event by the promotion Pro Wrestling Colossus.
19:00We've titled the show Invasion of the Body Slammers, it's a five match card, there's
19:05a battle royal, a tag team match, a women's match and a couple other singles matches.
19:11And what else can I tell you, it starts at half past five, doors open at five o'clock,
19:15we have had problems in the past where people have come early and been like what's going
19:18on?
19:19But the doors are at five o'clock and the actual show itself begins at half past five.
19:23And you're both instructors and if I'm not mistaken this event has some new faces, are
19:29we going to be seeing some new rising stars in the scene perhaps?
19:32Yeah, absolutely.
19:33Yeah, for sure.
19:34I was going to say.
19:37You go.
19:38No, you go, you go.
19:39No, go on TK, you say it better than I do.
19:40Come on, one of you needs to tag in and out, it's wrestling, come on.
19:43We're both too keen, that's the problem.
19:45You both want to get in the ring, yeah.
19:46So Jordan and I are both lucky enough to be both coaching at the Fanatec Pro Wrestling
19:50Academy and so we're part of, what is it, crafting and molding all the new crop of potential
19:58professional wrestlers out here in the scene.
20:01Like Jordan said, he's been wrestling for 10 years, I've been wrestling a similar amount
20:03of time.
20:05I started in New Zealand, so my time doesn't really count until I move over here, but that's
20:10not important right now.
20:11What is important, yeah, we're talking about the new crop that we have.
20:14So we've got the likes of SJ Randall, we've got the likes of Alex Aces, Zenithin and Chris
20:19Oak will all be on the bill this Saturday and I'm looking forward to seeing how they
20:22go.
20:23We actually had our first event back in August.
20:27Similar atmosphere, similar opportunity for them to really spread their wings in terms
20:32of wrestling in front of a real crowd as opposed to, you know, we do every six to eight weeks
20:37we do a little in-house show, you know, free, at the school, friends and family come along.
20:41It's a very safe, very supportive environment, but this was, the show in August and the show
20:47this weekend is very much a sink or swim opportunity for them to really, you know,
20:51show off their personality, show off their character, show how much they've improved
20:54as professional wrestlers, regardless of the fact that they're trainees.
20:57But it should be a really fun atmosphere beyond that, because just like we have the trainees,
21:03just like we have all the young new people, we also have a couple of, or quite a few seasoned
21:06vets that are very similar skill level, if not beyond, then just Jordan and myself.
21:11We have Connor Mills there, we have David Francisco, we have Jordan Saeed.
21:18And then a lot of the women are actually quite, what would you say, seasoned veterans.
21:21We've got Libby Grace, Safireen, and Anita Vaughn also throwing hands this weekend.
21:25Brilliant.
21:26And NK, you're from New Zealand, so I'm wondering if you can give us an international perspective
21:33of what you think of Kent's wrestling scene, because we have quite a lot of different sort
21:36of wrestling groups here in Kent.
21:38What do you think about it?
21:39That is true.
21:40I have been lucky enough to be involved in a couple of different Kent-based promotions.
21:45I've, what have I, I've lived here for like, I've lived in England, sorry, for about eight
21:49years now.
21:50So I'm quite like, trenched in the British wrestling scene.
21:55So I've been fortunate enough to make my way all over the country, all across Europe as
21:59well.
22:00As I said, not that I don't love my New Zealand wrestling roots, it's just, it pales in comparison
22:06to the skill level over here, the performance level, everything.
22:10Even the crowds are incredible over here.
22:13And I would say the Kent-based fans and wrestlers, there's just a really obvious level of passion
22:20out here that maybe, you know, maybe people just really want to represent the area.
22:24So I love that.
22:25I love being a part of that.
22:26And it just really helps spur on the enjoyment for me, being a performer, being a wrestler,
22:31that when, you know, you feed off the energy, I think it's like any kind of performance
22:35that you just feed off of the energy.
22:37And I think Kent fans and Kent wrestlers really give a good amount of emotion and a good amount
22:41of, yeah, just a good buzz and a good energy that makes me, you know, really want to give
22:46it 100%.
22:47Brilliant.
22:48And I'll tag you back in now, Jordan, you, like I said earlier, you guys are both instructors.
22:55Do you have any advice to young wrestlers hoping to break into the big leagues?
23:03Advice to the young wrestlers?
23:05Just train all the time.
23:09Just learn all the time.
23:10Like TK and I, we send matches to our trainees every day because they should be learning
23:18every day.
23:19They should be watching to learn every day.
23:20They should be going to shows every weekend.
23:22If you're around, people know who you are.
23:25People will want to book you.
23:27So just, yeah, just it kind of comes from that passion TK was talking about.
23:31It's just about being around and, yeah, wanting to learn.
23:37OK, well, I'm sure lots of young wrestlers across Kent will take that advice on board
23:43if they're watching now.
23:45And lastly, Jordan, I just do want to ask, invasion of the body slammers.
23:50I'm quite impressed.
23:51Was it one of you guys that came up with that puns and where did the whole theme come from?
23:54Yeah, do you know what?
23:57Yes.
23:58My dad came up with invasion of the body slammers.
24:01Obviously, after invasion of the body snatchers, we thought we were so cool and so original.
24:06Boy, did we.
24:08No, yeah, everybody seems to be using the same name.
24:12Even Scooby-Doo cartoons has the same gimmick.
24:16So, yeah, we can't take credit for it.
24:19Well, it's a good pun nonetheless.

24:54to make headlines this week after she scored this cracking goal just hours after completing
24:59a gruelling half marathon.
25:02Taking part in the Royal Parks Race at London's Hyde Park, Culpitt finished in a brilliant
25:06two hours and one minute before hopping on a train to the Gallagher Stadium where she
25:10helped Maidstone win 5-1 in their local derby against Tunbridge Angels.
25:15The winger said she had every intention of making it to the game and even had no trouble
25:19convincing the gaffer her legs were strong enough to play.
25:22Well, that deserves a very well done from us here at KMTV.
25:26Next up, meet Linda Green, who has managed to reduce her biological age by 25 years after
25:32taking part in a smart e-gym programme at her retirement village Lydian Gardens in Leeds.
25:38The 76-year-old, who suffers from arthritis, has been taking to the gym up to four times
25:43a week, where she's seen her biological age drop to 51.
25:48From lifting weights to taking advantage of their exercise balls, the AI-based programme
25:52ensures that residents get tailored support and promotes active living.
25:56Good job, Linda.
25:58And finally, here's Kent Online reporter Joe Crosley taking to the skies as part of his
26:03latest edition of Have A Go Joe.
26:05Flying over famous Kent landmarks like Blue Water and the River Medway, he said it was
26:09a blast and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to actually be in control of the plane.
