00:19The S24 series is here and it includes three devices, the S24, S24 Plus, and the S24 Ultra.
00:26We already have a video on the S24 Ultra and all the AI things it can do.
00:30And if you haven't seen it already, I'll link it up here and down below.
00:33In this video, we're taking a look at the S24 and the S24 Plus to see just what's new,
00:38what it can do, what my favorite AI features on this phone are,
00:41and we're even doing a quick camera tour.
00:43Without further ado, the new phones.
00:56So what's actually new?
01:01First off, they're all powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip,
01:05which is the flagship-est of them all when it comes to chipsets right now.
01:09And it doesn't matter what phone you get from this series,
01:11you can get the S24, the S24 Plus, or the S24 Ultra, and you're gonna get the same processor.
01:16Another upgrade, and specifically on the S21 Plus though, is that it now has double the RAM.
01:22Screen-wise, you're getting a slightly better screen on both phones.
01:25And the thing is, these screens are now brighter.
01:27On the S24 Plus, that's also a Quad HD Plus display now.
01:31You're also getting more battery on both phones.
01:344,000 mAh on the new S24 when the previous S23 had 3,900,
01:39and 4,900 mAh on the S24 Plus when the previous S23 Plus had 4,700.
01:47According to Samsung, that's 5% more efficient power consumption
01:51because of the new chipset and the better cooling system.
01:53These phones are also social media-optimized,
01:55and Samsung also partnered with Instagram
01:57to make sure that we're getting good social media posts.
02:01Good for us.
02:02According to Samsung, they're opening up and allowing social media companies
02:05to utilize camera hardware on their apps now,
02:08which is great because you know how when you're on Android,
02:11you don't really get great quality photos and videos
02:14when you shoot, for example, via Instagram.
02:16This is because for a lot of Android phones,
02:18social media apps just basically take a screenshot of what they see on their screen.
02:23So that being the case, if you go on Instagram, for example,
02:26and shoot an Instagram story using the Instagram camera app,
02:30you are opening the camera,
02:31but you're not necessarily taking video from the camera app.
02:36You've opened the camera and Instagram is just screen recording
02:40what's already on your screen
02:41and posting that screen recording to your social media.
02:44But Samsung says on these devices that shouldn't be the case
02:48because the fact that they're now allowing social media apps
02:51to utilize the camera hardware means that you'd be able to use
02:54all the different features that the cameras have
02:57in the camera app on social media.
02:59So that means better social media posts overall
03:02and the social media optimization will be available
03:04on top social media platforms.
03:06And finally, and that's pretty cool,
03:08you get seven years of updates on these new phones.

03:14Okay, so obviously the big thing at this year's phone launch would be AI.
03:18And Samsung is calling this Galaxy AI.
03:20I'm happy to know that these AI features are also coming to the base S24
03:24and the S24 Plus.
03:26And even better, Galaxy AI is coming to even more devices
03:29that are coming to the S24 Plus.
03:31So if you're looking for a phone that has a lot of features,
03:34and you're looking for a phone that has a lot of features,
03:36and you're looking for a phone that has a lot of features,
03:38and you're looking for a phone that has a lot of features,
03:40and even better, Galaxy AI is coming to even more devices,
03:43including older devices.
03:45Expect that to roll out later on.
03:47Now, what exactly can Galaxy AI do?
03:49Thank you for asking.
03:50My favorite features include One Circle to Search.
03:53Now, this is pretty cool because this means that you can search up
03:56any keyword, for example, on your browser,
03:59find a photo, encircle anything on that photo,
04:02and AI will be able to search for whatever it is you've encircled.
04:06This also works for in real life things.
04:08All you need to do is open your camera.
04:10You don't even need to take a photo.
04:12You can just tap the AI button and then encircle,
04:15and voila, you get the info.
04:17I tried this myself with my Osmo Pocket,
04:19and it did pull up the same exact camera.
04:22This feature is really impressive,
04:24and I can think of so many use cases for this.
04:28Like, I could find an impeccably well-dressed person walking outside,
04:31and I don't even need to take a photo.
04:32I just scan their shoes, and I know what shoes those are.
04:36You also get photo editing features like Photo Assist,
04:39which, if you think about it, isn't really new.
04:41We've seen AI photo editing on other smartphones.
04:44It's still always pretty cool to see,
04:46like you can remove glare or shadows on your face.
04:49What really impressed me, though,
04:50is the generative AI features for photos on this phone.
04:54Okay, so for example, you can select subjects,
04:57move them around in the photo.
04:59You can select subjects, delete them from the photo,
05:02and this is something I'm gonna be using a lot
05:04because for some reason, I can't take level photos.
05:07You can rotate photos and have the AI fill in those blanks
05:12that happen on the sides because you rotated the photo.
05:15With the tap of a button, AI fixes everything.
05:19Aside from all of that,
05:20this phone can also auto-transcribe voice recordings,
05:25which actually would have been useful today
05:27because I did ask someone from the briefing about features,
05:30and I just ended up recording a very sad video
05:33of this conversation just so I had a copy of it.
05:37And then I had to come back to my room, actually,
05:39to transcribe everything and then summarize it for my script.
05:42But with Galaxy AI, you won't even have to do
05:44all of those things.
05:45You can record audio and it will transcribe it.
05:47It'll be able to summarize it.
05:49And when AI is done making this audio interview,
05:51a whole text note,
05:52you can again use AI to auto-format it
05:55or even translate it.
05:57The translating also works when you're chatting with someone
06:00or when you're on a call.
06:02These are just some of the AI features,
06:04my personal favorites,
06:05but if you want to know more about these features,

06:25Okay, so S23 Plus, S23.
06:27Obviously, it's smaller.
06:28As you guys know, I prefer this size.
06:31And this is the same color, different sizes.
06:36Again, I like this size better.
06:37It fits my hands better.
06:39But with the Plus, you get a bigger screen
06:41and a bigger battery.
06:42So the quick hands-on, let's do it with the base model
06:45because again, it just fits my hands better.
06:49Top that's clean with the sides on here.
06:52The bottom gives you the SIM tray and the USB-C port.
06:56This right side gives you a volume rocker
06:58and an unlock button.
06:59That is a clean matte back.
07:01And you see the flat sides of this phone as well.
07:05Punch hole camera and the same three rear cameras on the back.
07:10Camera time.
07:11So the cameras on these phones learn as you take photos.
07:15You already know it.
07:16Samsung uses cognitive AI to make everything better.
07:19And this means, according to Samsung,
07:21you're getting better photo output
07:23even without that hardware upgrade.
07:25Both the S24 and the S24 Plus features a 50MP main shooter
07:30with OIS, a 12MP wide, and a 10MP telephoto camera
07:34with 3x optical zoom on the back and up front.
07:37That's a 12MP selfie camera.
07:39Let's do a quick camera tour.
07:41Right, I have the S24 Plus and it's time for that camera tour.
07:45We have a wide 1x, 3x, up until 30x on photos.
07:51Back to wide.
07:52Up here you have settings, timer, size.
07:54You can also shoot in 50MP or 12MP.
07:58On this camera, you have your motion photo.
08:01And then you get different filters and even a face filter
08:05on the rear camera.
08:06Now on the right, you get your video.
08:09You can do wide 1x, 3x, up until 12x on video.
08:15Back to wide.
08:16And you also have your steady mode.
08:19You can shoot up until 8K with the rear cameras.
08:22And you can do 30fps, 4K 30 or 60, and full HD 30 or 60.
08:29Under more, you have all the other fun features.
08:31Expert RAW, Pro Mode, Pro Video Mode, Food Mode,
08:34Portrait Video, of course.
08:36And then let's get back to video and see what's up.

08:41No, you cannot.
08:42But you can shoot up until 4K 60fps with the selfie cameras.
08:48Now you have photo and you have wide and, well, 1x.
08:53Wide 1x.
08:54You also have portrait on here which does the same zooms.
08:58And you can also change the blurs in the back.
09:02And that was our first look at the S24 and the S24+.
09:07Emphasis on first look because I still would have wanted more time with these phones.
09:11But the time we had shooting was pretty limited.

09:36we're getting them on the S24 and the S24+.
09:38And even better that we're getting them on older devices.
