00:00What's up guys, today we're going to be unboxing the new Xiaomi 12T.
00:06So shout out to Xiaomi for sending this out early for us to check out here, guys.
00:11Let's go ahead and dive into it.
00:12We don't get to look at a ton of Xiaomi phones on the channel, so I'm really excited for
00:17this one.
00:18You guys said you wanted to see more of them as well.
00:20All right, so this is the black 8GB, 256 model, and yeah, so let's go ahead and check this
00:27out.
00:28I think it's going to start off retailing for somewhere around $600.
00:32All right, designed by Xiaomi, we got our SIM tool, and what I like about Xiaomi is that
00:39for their flagship devices, there's a 12T and a 12T Pro.
00:45They do give you a case, and you also get the 120-watt charger in the box too, which
00:50is very rare for flagship devices, so I always appreciate that.
00:55You guys can see that 120-watt charger in here as well.

01:15All right, so man, it kind of hits the light.
01:30It turned blue a little bit.
01:32You would almost mistake it as blue, but when it's not hitting the light, it looks black
01:36though.
01:37All right, guys, we are all in on the phone here, and as you guys can see, really nice,
01:42big, vibrant display.
01:44This is a 6.67-inch panel here.
01:47It's a 1.5K resolution, or if you want to know just the numbers, it's 1220 by 2712.
01:55It's 446 for the PPI's Gorilla Glass 5.
01:59It's a pretty nice panel.
02:00HDR 10.
02:01It's got 120 hertz on here as well, and it gets pretty bright.
02:05I believe it's 900 nits at its peak brightness, so outdoors, I actually did not have an issue.
02:11I'm actually using the display on here.
02:13We got our punch hole in the middle as well here, and we got pretty slim bezels on this
02:19phone too, so really no issues with the display here.
02:24I do want to talk about the back of this phone because there's one thing that I noticed just
02:29using it.
02:30It gets super, super smudged up, you guys.
02:32You probably can't see it on the camera too well, but just like any type of touches on
02:37this thing, it gets smudged up.
02:40It's really noticeable.
02:41That's one thing that I noticed here.
02:43Also, I'm really digging the camera on here.
02:46It's got 108 megapixels as you guys can see, which we will talk about a little bit later,
02:51but yeah, I really like the camera design.
02:54I've always been a big fan.
02:55This is actually my first Xiaomi phone with the in-display fingerprint sensor.
03:00They usually put it in the power button.
03:02I've always been a big fan of that, but this one actually has it in the display, which
03:07is perfectly fine.
03:09It works really well.
03:10Also, you do have that face unlock option as well.
03:13One of the most interesting things so far about this phone is the chipset that they
03:18decided to put in here.
03:20I rarely use Dimensity chipsets, so this is the Dimensity 8100 Ultra here.
03:27You can see it does pretty good with the benchmark scores here.
03:30You can see how it compares to some other phones.
03:33As you can see in its range, it gives you an idea.
03:37It's pretty much on par with a Galaxy S21 Ultra, Exynos, Snapdragon 870, stuff like
03:42that.
03:43It's actually a pretty powerful chipset for the average person.
03:47Obviously, if you're super heavy in the games, you would go ahead and get the 12T Pro, but
03:54this one here, it's pretty fast.
03:57One thing that I noticed just using this phone, it does not heat up anywhere as near as the
04:02Snapdragon chipsets, which I think is very, very cool.
04:07That is one thing that I'm going to keep an eye out for.
04:10Probably drop a full gaming test on here just to see how this chipset does, but this chipset,
04:15I'm telling you, is way cooler than the Snapdragon chipsets here.
04:19You can see for games like Call of Duty here, we can run at very high max FPS, so it does
04:24pretty good job with performance.
04:26Let's see if I can get something going here.
04:31Yeah, but I really like the screen on here.
04:34It's really high quality.
04:35I'm telling you, this chip, man, it's pretty cool.
04:42Yeah, but if you're trying to game on here, definitely, it's powerful enough to do it.
04:47All right, so let's go ahead and check out these speakers.
04:49These have the Dolby Atmos in their stereo speakers.
04:52Let's go ahead and check those out.
05:00All right, so these are some pretty good sounding speakers.
05:18Very good bass quality on here.
05:20I just want to see what they sound like without the Dolby Atmos.
05:31Yeah, so they're pretty loud.
05:32It really doesn't even make a difference, honestly.
05:35Yeah, so the speakers on here do sound pretty solid on here.
05:40So, this phone also does have the fast charging at 120 watts as well, which is absolutely
05:47nuts.
05:48I'll probably make a video.
05:49This thing charges extremely crazy fast.
05:51All right, so I do want to show you guys the cameras on here.
05:55I was really mostly impressed with the cameras on here.
05:58I really, really like how selfies come out.
06:00I really like how the pictures come out.
06:02Xiaomi's image processing here is pretty good.
06:04So, it's 108 megapixel standard.
06:06There's an 8 megapixel ultrawide, which isn't that really exciting?
06:10And you have a 2 megapixel macro, which actually took a pretty decent shot, you guys will see,
06:14with that macro cam.
06:15But it shoots in 4K, 30, and then a 20 megapixel selfie that only shoots in 1080p60.
06:20So, again, not super impressive with the specs when it comes to the cameras.
06:26But I'm telling you, if you're just like a casual camera person, to pop a steal with
06:30this phone, I was really impressed.
06:32You get some super crispy shots on this phone.
06:35The 108 megapixels, if you go ahead and turn that on, once you zoom in a shot, you get
06:40some really nice shots here.
06:42Indoor shots were really nice.
06:44Very vibrant, very punchy colors.
06:47Just crystal clear.
06:48I really enjoyed the selfie cam on here as well, too.
06:51Excellent skin tone.
06:53It got my skin tone really right on here.
06:56So, I was pretty impressed.
06:57The portrait mode was pretty good on here, too.
06:59So, image quality, definitely my first impressions were pretty good.
07:03The ultrawide was pretty good as well.
07:07It looked pretty similar to the main lens as well in terms of color and had good detail
07:12on it.
07:13But, yeah, I was pretty impressed with overall Xiaomi's image processing on here, which is
07:17really impressive to me.
07:18Now, there are a couple things to note about this phone.
07:21This phone does have the IR Blaster on here.
07:23You guys know I'm a huge fan of the IR Blaster.
07:26So, basically, if you don't know what that is, it's basically you can use this as a universal
07:30remote, control TVs, air conditioner, pretty much smart home appliances and stuff like
07:35that.
07:36It is a very, very cool feature to have.
07:37I think it's very slept on.
07:38Basically, they only put them in Xiaomi phones these days.
07:41I can't remember another brand that has them.
07:43Maybe they do, but it's pretty much in Xiaomi phones these days.
07:47NFC is here, all that good stuff.
07:50This does have a pretty massive size battery at 5,000 milliamps.
07:53So, very big battery.
07:55Definitely going to test out the battery, but just watching it so far, the way it's
07:58been draining and stuff like that, it looks like it'll be a phone that can easily do six
08:02hours of screen on time here.
08:05All right.
08:06So, basically, my first impression is I really do like the phone.
08:10MIUI, a lot of people do not like MIUI.
08:13MIUI has grown on me over the years.
08:16I still think the settings in MIUI is just really messy to me.
08:20I don't like the way they organize some things, but actually, it has grown on me a lot.
08:25I do like the sort of glossy glass look of the MIUI skin here.
08:30A lot of people, you get a lot of, and that's one thing, so a lot of applications on here
08:35I did not install.
08:37So, you do have a few applications on here that I didn't install.
08:40It's not a ton of bloatware, but like a few games and stuff like that, like this and
08:46what else?
08:47Yeah, I didn't install any of this.
08:49TikTok, TileFun, just some random things on here.
08:55But yeah, not a ton of bloatware, but definitely, you do have that on here.
