00:00Yo what's up guys, today I wanted to talk about the Galaxy S23.
00:04I wanted to go over about 5 things that I think Samsung needs to improve here and then
00:08I want to talk about what we know so far about the leaks and rumors and stuff like that.
00:13So let's go ahead and get started.
00:14So one of the things that I've been keeping up, I really like this site, Tom's Guide,
00:19they do a really good job with keeping you updated with the leaks and stuff like that.
00:24So I want to just go through them with you guys.
00:26So one of the things that I pretty much feel like is solid is the release date.
00:30So this is pretty much always on par.
00:33So we can look for a release date or announcement February 1st and then you can get your pre-order
00:39February 1st and then February 17th it should be available to the public.
00:46Also guys, the price is looking like it's going to be $1200 price point for the base
00:52model.
00:53Now here is the thing that I really like.
00:55So Samsung is doing the 8 gig, 256 gig version.
01:00So they're getting rid of the 128 gigabyte version which I thought was absolutely absurd
01:06to charge $1200 base model for a 128 gigabyte phone.
01:10This is a 128 gig and I got it from Best Buy and I got the gifts and stuff like that but
01:15still I think at this price point you should never sell a phone with that low of a storage.
01:21And also I still feel like the base model should be 12 gigs of RAM but the 8 gigs, it
01:26is what it is.
01:27This one is 8 gig, it's fine honestly.
01:30It doesn't hold as much applications if you open a lot of applications as a 12 gigabyte
01:36phone.
01:38So that's why I said for this type of money they really need to get rid of that 8 gig.
01:43It really needs to be just like the Galaxy Note 10 plus base model, 12 gigs, 256.
01:48I think that's fair for the price.
01:51The screen is pretty much rumored to pretty much be the same.
01:55I'm hearing that they will actually get rid of the curves a little bit here.
02:01So you guys can see the S22 Ultra is very much a curved device when it comes to screen.
02:07It's very aggressively curved but as you guys, the rumors are saying that they're going to
02:13shrink the curve a little bit and this is not surprising because Google did the same
02:17thing with the Pixel 7 Pro.
02:19So this Pixel 7 Pro, it does not have such an aggressive curve like the 6 Pro.
02:24And I want to show you guys the score for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
02:28These are what the scores are going to look like.
02:29So you see 1500, 5, 2, 4, 9 and then you can see the 8 Gen 1 chip on here.
02:36So this is going to be a pretty big upgrade in speed.
02:39It's going to be, I think, noticeable especially if Samsung does the cooling right.
02:43This could be really, really powerful.
02:45Again, it's always going to be pretty much behind the iPhones because they're just better
02:49optimized.
02:50It's going to perform much better than the Tensor chip.
02:54But this is going to be a top tier powerful phone so I think that's pretty exciting as
02:58well.
02:59Now I want to get into some of my personal things that I would like to see with the S23
03:04Ultra.
03:05Again, I don't think they're going to bring SD card support at all.
03:09So a lot of people were hoping for that.
03:11I don't think they're going to do that.
03:12One thing that they need to do, this is a must.
03:15They need to fix this speaker, right?
03:17So I also want to talk about the speaker.
03:19So I got the speaker at max volume.
03:32So my issue with this speaker is that it's not that impressive compared to Samsung's
03:38previous devices.
03:39It's actually just not as loud.
03:41The bass doesn't hit as hard and it just sounds flat in comparison to other phones,
03:46especially like the Pixel 7 Pro, the iPhone 14 Pro.
03:50It just doesn't sound great.
03:51So I think the speaker really, really needs to be improved on this phone for sure.
03:58Also another thing that I think they can improve is the charging speeds.
04:03The Galaxy Note 10 Plus has 45 watt charging.
04:07This phone has 45 watt charging.
04:09They haven't moved away from the 45 watt charging in a very long time.
04:14So I would love to see 65 watt charging with this phone to be able to charge it a little
04:18bit faster.
04:19I think that would be awesome as well.
04:22And I think as far as the photo quality goes, of course we're getting the 200 megapixel
04:28camera.
04:29I think Samsung is always going to keep improving the camera no matter what.
04:33Like I said, I think this is one of the best camera systems currently.
04:37Right now it takes some of the best zoom shots, does great in low light, takes great
04:42video.
04:43I think this is already an excellent camera and pretty much top tier camera.
04:46So I'm sure Samsung is going to keep improving it.
04:48So that's why I'm not really worried about the cameras because it's something that they
04:51always pretty much improve here.
04:54But what I'm excited to see is strength of bevels down a little bit because apparently
05:00that's a complaint for people, you know, accidental touches.
05:04Battery life needs to be improved.
05:06Hopefully this new cooling system is going to work and this new design is going to work,
05:11whatever they're going to do to make the cooling better so it doesn't get as hot during long
05:15periods of gaming.
05:17And also hopefully this front camera is better because, I don't know, it's kind of a weird
05:22move to go from 40 megapixels to a 12 megapixel selfie cam.
05:26The design is pretty much going to stay the same from what we know.
05:31So what do you guys think?
05:33Are you guys going to upgrade to the S23 Ultra from the S22 Ultra or do you have an older
05:40Galaxy phone?
05:41Be sure to let me know and I'll catch you guys in the next one.
