00:00We can see here in our latest satellite images,
00:03these thick clouds that are continuously affecting the area of Mindanao.
00:08The continuous effect of this Intertropical Convergence Zone or ITCZ
00:13is the accumulation of wind from the northern and southern hemispheres.
00:17Because of the ITCZ, we expect a high chance of rain today
00:23here in the southern and western portions of Mindanao.
00:26Remember here in the area of Palawan.
00:28In Metro Manila and in the rest of the country,
00:31we will experience a clear weather.
00:34It will only be accompanied by isolated rain showers or localized thunderstorms.
00:39Especially here in the eastern section of Luzon
00:42because of the arrival of Easter East
00:45or the wind coming from the Pacific Ocean.
00:48We will continue to monitor this low-pressure area
00:50outside our Philippine Area of Responsibility.
00:54Our latest location earlier this morning at 3 am
00:57is at a distance of 1,455 kilometers from the south-eastern Luzon.
01:03The scenario we see is a medium chance for this low-pressure area.
01:07This means that it is possible for this to become a storm
01:10within the next 24 to 48 hours.
01:13But we do not expect this
01:15or low chance of tropical cyclone development within the next 24 hours.
01:21For the current weather situation here in Luzon,
01:27a large portion of Luzon, including Metro Manila,
01:30will continue to experience clear weather.
01:32But this Easter East or the wind coming from the Pacific Ocean,
01:36isolated thunderstorms are possible here in the eastern section of our country.
01:44Particularly in the areas of Cagayan Valley,
01:47Isabela, Quezon, and other parts of the Bicol Region.
01:52We will also prepare for the chances of thunderstorms in Metro Manila,
01:56especially in the late afternoon to evening.
01:58But now in the morning and afternoon,
02:00we expect generally fair weather conditions.
02:03The total temperature outside today
02:06is possible to reach 32 degrees Celsius.
02:0932 degrees in the area of Taguigarao
02:11and 24 degrees Celsius in Baguio City.
02:14Maximum temperature forecast for Metro Manila today
02:17is possible to reach 32 degrees Celsius.
02:2033 degrees in the area of Legazpi
02:23and 31 degrees Celsius in the area of Tagaytay.
02:28In the area of Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao,
02:31the southern and western sections of Mindanao,
02:34and also here in Palawan,
02:36particularly in the areas of Zamboanga Peninsula,
02:39Barms, Oxargen, and Davao Occidental,
02:42we expect high chances of widespread thunderstorms today.
02:45It is still the tip of the Intertropical Convergence Zone or ITCZ.
02:49So let's continue to be prepared and alert to the threats
02:52of flooding and landslides,
02:54especially if the rain continues.
02:57For Visayas and the rest of Mindanao,
03:00we will also experience generally fair weather conditions throughout the day.
03:03Let's also prepare for the chances of localized thunderstorms,
03:07especially in the afternoon to evening.
03:10Maximum temperature forecast for Kalayaan Islands today
03:13is possible to reach 32 degrees Celsius.
03:1632 degrees in the area of Puerto Princesa
03:19and 32 degrees Celsius in the areas of Iloilo, Cebu, and Tacloban.
03:25Maximum temperature forecast for Cagayan de Oro today
03:28is possible to reach 32 degrees Celsius.
03:3133 degrees in the area of Davao
03:33and 32 degrees Celsius in the area of Zamboanga.
03:38In our current weather conditions,
03:40there are no high-level gale warnings in any of our islands.
03:44It is expected that there will be moderate to moderate thunderstorms
03:47in a large part of our country.
03:49However, it is still possible to experience thunderstorms
03:52or offshore thunderstorms.
03:54So let's expect strong winds if we have offshore thunderstorms.
03:59This will affect the rise of our waves.
04:02So be careful of our fellow fishermen.
04:06As for our 3-day weather outlook in a large part of our country,
04:12this low-pressure area that we are monitoring outside the PAR,
04:15we expect that it will be possible to enter our area of responsibility
04:19within the day.
04:20And the scenario that we are seeing for the time being
04:24is that the chance of tropical cyclone development is increasing.
04:27So our scenario is that there is a medium chance that it will be a storm.
04:31We expect that it will be a storm within the next 24 to 48 hours.
04:36And this time period, possibly by late Sunday to early next week.
04:41So for now, it is still far from our country.
04:43But for the next few days, we expect that because of its proximity to our land,
04:49it will be possible for rain to fall in some areas of Luzon,
04:53particularly in parts of Cagayan Valley, Aurora,
04:56a large part of Southern Luzon, and Visayas.
04:59Here in the area of Palawan and Mindanao,
05:01because of the ITCZ or Intertropical Convergence Zone,
05:04the high chance of storms and thunderstorms will continue in the mentioned areas.
05:09So for the next few days, a large part of our country,
05:12we expect that there will be rainfall due to the ITCZ
05:17and this possible storm that we are monitoring.
05:20So stay tuned for future updates on the forecast
05:25regarding our weather and our low-pressure area that we are monitoring
05:30outside our Philippine Area of Responsibility.
