00:09that she recently had a benign cyst removed from her neck.

00:12Serena shared that she first discovered

00:14something was wrong this past spring.

00:16So one day, back in May, actually,

00:18I found this big mass on my neck.

00:22I was mortified by it.

00:23And I got tests done.

00:25Everything you can imagine, everything was negative.

00:28And it turns out I had what they called a cyst,

00:32a brachial cyst, to be exact.

00:33Serena ultimately underwent surgery to get it removed.

00:36It was so big.

00:37It was the size of a grapefruit.

00:39And yikes, it kind of hurt it coming out.

00:43Obviously, I went under for it.

00:44But they had to put a drain in it because it was so much.

00:48The athlete shared footage of her time in the hospital.

00:51She assured fans that the procedure was a success

00:53and that she was looking forward to moving on

00:54to the next steps of healing.

00:56I feel really happy to have worked with some great doctors.
