00:00Howdy, this is Lemmy with RevZilla,
00:02here to show you how to execute a static burnout.
00:19Now some of you are gonna say,
00:20Lem, why would I ever need to perform a burnout?
00:22I can see two scenarios for most folks.
00:25The first is if you're trying to get your tires
00:27heated up and sticky very quickly,
00:29perhaps for that impromptu drag race.
00:31The second scenario is probably
00:32a lot more widely understood,
00:34and that's for those of you
00:35who are attempting a show of peacocking.
00:37If you wanna reel in a cutie,
00:38you need to know how to properly execute a burnout.
00:41I'm gonna show you how.
00:42Now our legal team informs me
00:43that I need to make a couple of disclaimers here.
00:46First, these things are super duper dangerous,
00:48or at least they have the potential to be.
00:49Secondly, burnouts are illegal
00:51pretty much everywhere in North America.
00:52So if you plan on doing one, use your noodle.
00:54Don't be a dingbat.
00:55Let's get started.
00:57Fire up your bike, and with the clutch pulled in,
00:59click down into first.
01:02Stand up and unload that rear tire.
01:04The idea here is to get all of the weight off of the rear,
01:07because if you have traction, you ain't got a burnout.
01:10Simultaneously, hold the front brake
01:12and rev the engine up about 75% of the way to redline.
01:15This part takes a little bit of dexterity
01:17because you're basically asking your throttle hand
01:19to perform throttle and braking duties at the same time,
01:21which you probably don't do very often.
01:23Dump the clutch.
01:24Don't ride it.
01:25Slingshot that sucker.
01:27Enjoy your burnout.
01:28Do not become distracted by the shouting of the hotties.
01:31Be mindful of your redline.
01:32You don't want to be banging this thing
01:34off the rev limiter constantly.
01:36Now, at this point, you can earn yourself some style points
01:38by swinging the tail of the bike around.
01:39You can also earn style points, of course, too,
01:42by getting a good plume of smoke going.
01:44A big, big cloud's always awesome.
01:46However, it does kind of kill the life on your rear tire.
01:49It's gonna be up to you to perform a cost-benefit analysis
01:51on exactly how much smoke to let go.
01:53Now, to end your burnout, pull the clutch in.
01:56Maintain the brake and roll off the throttle.
01:57And at this point, you can bask in the applause
01:59and the adoration of your newfound fans.
02:03So, as you can see, performing a burnout
02:04is not particularly difficult.
02:06Now, for those of you who are freaking out
02:08because I just ruined all the life
02:09that was left in this tire,
02:10I'm gonna recommend you do exactly what I did.
02:12Wait until your rear tire's just about shot
02:14before you practice any burnouts.
02:16And if you've gotten to that point,
02:17I would recommend you check out some of the
