00:10With record-breaking attendance of more than 800 people, the Australian Lot
00:14Feeders Association event featured a high-profile lineup of international speakers.
00:19US Intensive Animals Industries consultant Joe Kearns told delegates the worldview for
00:25the Australian beef industry could not be better. Alpha President Barb Madden outlined
00:29the headline figures for the industry this year.
00:32Our grain-fed beef exports have risen by 33% year-on-year to a total of
00:38almost 37,000 tonnes of grain-fed beef exported last financial year.
00:43Grain-fed beef accounted for over 42% of total beef production, once again cementing the critical
00:51role that feedlots play in producing consistent, high-quality, first-class protein to markets
00:58every single day. And there were plenty of other speakers unpacking everything to do
01:03with the beef industry. More than 90 exhibitors showcased new industry services and products
01:08and a number of prestigious awards were handed out.
