00:00Mainly, our generation, we're an interesting group.
00:05I'm sorry, we're an interesting group.
00:09So it's just the simple fact that we
00:12don't go check our information, how we should
00:14go and check our information.
00:17Oh, God.
00:18They come with some of the craziest things,
00:21the craziest statements.
00:24I know a couple of days ago, actually, in class,
00:27someone mentioned that they could actually
00:29turn in a vote-by-mail and vote in person.
00:33So that's one reason why they don't trust the election.
00:37And I'm like, I've never heard of that.
00:40And so I previously interned with the Palm Beach County
00:43Supervisor of Elections.
00:44So I had to go in my bag a little bit,
00:46and I was like, I don't recall us being able to vote twice.
00:52That's not an excuse for you to use to not wanting to vote,
00:56to not want your vote to count, because you
00:59think people can vote twice.
01:00That is not true.
01:02And stop spreading that information.
01:04That's not true.
01:05And then also, students are just really concerned.
01:08Most of them, I noticed when we did our voter registration
01:12activation on campus, most students
01:14aren't aware that they could literally
01:16change their voter registration information the day
01:21of the election if they cannot make it back home
01:23to their specific county to complete their ballots.
01:28So that's some information that I'm also trying
01:31to get out there to students.
01:34What else?
01:34Students aren't on our campus, like I said,
01:37students aren't aware that there's
01:39a precinct on our campus.
01:40So they're concerned about how they're
01:42going to be able to get to these precincts to even vote.
01:45And so I know our SGA and student leaders
01:50are trying to encourage students to use our precinct.
01:53But mainly, a lot of students are really
01:55concerned about the history, teaching of the history,
01:59our history throughout the state of Florida,
02:02how we could, it's us a whole lot,
02:05how things could change here in Florida, the potential of so
02:09much going with this election.
02:12It's exciting on FAMU's campus, but we're combating
02:16a lot of misinformation.
