00:50Flight QP1335 with 184 passengers on board took off from Delhi and an emergency was declared
00:58at exact 1.15 pm.
01:04The aircraft made an emergency landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi,
01:09where the threat was later confirmed to be another hoax.
01:13In a statement, Akasa Air explained that the flight was taken to an isolation bay after
01:19landing and passengers were safely deplaned, provided with refreshments and given regular
01:24updates.
01:26An Akasa Air spokesperson said,
01:28Akasa Air flight QP1335 flying from Delhi to Bengaluru on 16th October 2024, carrying
01:36174 passengers, three infants and seven crew members, received a security alert.
01:43The Akasa Air emergency response team monitored the situation to ensure all support was provided
01:49to the operating teams and information was transparently disseminated to relevant stakeholders.
01:56The spokesperson added,
01:58The captain followed all required emergency procedures, diverted the flight back to Delhi
02:04and landed safely at Indira Gandhi International Airport at 1.48 pm.
02:09In line with safety protocols, the aircraft was taken to an isolation bay upon landing
02:15and passengers were deplaned at 1.57 pm as local authorities conducted necessary safety

02:52flight, a Siliguri-Bengaluru Akasa Air flight, an Alliance Air Amritsar-Dehradun-Delhi flight
02:58and an Air India Express flight from Madurai to Singapore.
03:03On Monday, two Indigo flights and one Air India flight faced similar hoax bomb threats.
03:08These were the Mumbai-New York Air India flight, a Muscat-bound Indigo flight and another Indigo
03:14flight heading to Jeddah.
03:16The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, BCAS, is collaborating with cyber security agencies
03:22and police to identify the individuals responsible for these threats.
