00:28Captain Panesar, help us understand what is the hydraulic failure and what happens
00:33to the plane when it happens during takeoff.
00:38See on a Boeing 737, there are three hydraulic systems.
00:41They work for different, for landing gear, flaps and braking and all that.
00:49If there's a leak of hydraulic system, I think captain has taken a right decision to land
00:55back at Trichy and since the flight is a long flight and landing at Sharjah with a
01:01snag and all that would have been much difficult for the airline to send the staff for repairs
01:06and all that to Sharjah.

01:10But how this leak has taken place, they have to investigate why this leak has taken place.

02:52But if you take off with a maximum weight, you are not supposed to land with the maximum
02:57landing weight because landing weight, you have to reduce it.
03:00Otherwise, it will be well seated, tyre burst and so many things can happen to reduce the
03:06weight of the aircraft.
03:07So they have to dump the fuel, you know, if they can, some aircraft have the facility
03:12to dump the fuel so that the weight of the aircraft is reduced to a landing weight, maximum
03:17landing weight, and then he can land safely.
03:20But if there is a very serious emergency, he can land with a maximum landing weight
03:23also with the extra cautious, smooth landing and with a proper speed and all that.
03:29But he must have been hoping to dump the fuel or waste the fuel by flying over so that the
03:35landing weight comes within the limits and all that.

05:06And all these training has been given to the pilot during the simulator training, and

05:20landing weight.
05:21But if there is a greater emergency, like if an engine also fails, then he can land
05:26with a maximum landing weight, maximum takeoff weight also.
05:30And he has to land very cautiously, so the tires don't burst.
05:34So he can land with a maximum takeoff weight also.
05:37But it is better if we dump the fuel or use the fuel and land within the landing weight
05:43limit.
05:44So there's no further damage on the tires and all that by after landing.
