00:00There is no official list of who will enter the ballot in the election of 2025.
00:05But there are petitions filed against the candidacy of some aspirants.
00:09This includes the petition to disqualify Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.
00:13The pastor's camp also asked to declare a nuisance
00:17that will disqualify him.
00:20Witness, this is Sandra Ginaldo.
00:22Comleg Anne Bank accepted the recommendation of their law department
00:29for the 66 senatorial aspirants
00:32who passed their examination
00:34and will be included in the ballot in the upcoming election.
00:37This is a mix of individuals,
00:40possibly incumbent, possibly independent.
00:43There are political parties, but they are not that well-known.
00:46Labor leaders, lawyers, doctors,
00:48we included all of them based on qualifications and our determination.
00:54Our determination is based on the assessment of the law department,
00:58whether they have a political party or they are independent candidates.
01:02That is not the basis of including them.
01:07Of the 183 who obtained the Certificate of Candidacy or COC as a senator,
01:12there are 117 who are not included in the list
01:16and Comleg will file a petition to declare a nuisance.
01:21There are 24 petitions filed by the law department
01:26for the senatorial aspirants.
01:28The due process is still needed.
01:31The 117 out of the 183 senatorial aspirants
01:38to explain why they should not be declared as nuisance candidates.
01:45Pastor Apollo Quibuloy was included in the list
01:48who is currently in prison and facing a case.
01:52There is also a complaint from the Workers and Peasants Party, or WPP,
01:57which gave him a CONA, or Certificate of Nomination and Acceptance.
02:02The Senatorial Aspirant, Sani Matula,
02:06canceled Quibuloy's CONA, which was given without authorization.
02:10He also asked to disqualify Quibuloy.
02:13But Attorney Mark Christopher Tolentino,
02:17Quibuloy's political spokesperson,
02:19filed a petition to declare Matula and some others as nuisance candidates
02:24and to cancel their COC and CONA.
02:26The WPP President, Matula and Tolentino, met.
02:31According to Comleg, there are 80 petitions
02:34filed by Comleg for the declaration of nuisance in a local position.
