00:00So when you see a distance like 100 and 200 km from Bangkok to somewhere else in Thailand
00:05in a map or on a travel guide, so do you ever wonder where that measurement starts?
00:11So let's find out where Bangkok Kilometer Zero is located.
00:15In Thailand, the Zero Mile Marker, which is the spot from which these centers are traditionally
00:20measured, is a democracy monument in the Panakorn District on the side of Dinsor Road.
00:26This location was once the starting point of four major roads in Thailand, Mitthaphrao,
00:31Sukhumvit, Ekkasem, Pahonyothin.
00:33However, in recent years, the Kilometer Zero for most of these roads has moved to other
00:39locations.
00:40Today, only Sukhumvit Road still stands as a democracy monument stretching 488 km eastward
00:47to Prat Province.
