Dr Mahathir warded in IJN, trial postponed

Former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has been warded at the National Heart Institute (IJN), the Kuala Lumpur High Court was told on Wednesday (Oct 16).

As such, the nonagerian's defamation trial against Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi was postponed until Oct 29.

00:24According to Dr Mahathir's aide, the non-Ajanarian was admitted to IJN on Tuesday due to a lower
00:30respiratory tract infection and was given medical leave until October 25.
00:37The former Langkawi MP has been in and out of hospitals over the past few years.
00:42He was last warded in IJN on July 15, five days after celebrating his 99th birthday,
00:50and was admitted for two weeks for treatment of a cough.
00:53In January, he was admitted for 53 days for treatment of an infection and observation.
