00:00Dr. Ibram Kendi's books stand from the beginning.
00:02There was also a documentary on Netflix that I was in.
00:04I didn't mean to plug myself, but I was in the documentary.
00:07But in the book, the opening of the book, the book was released,
00:11I want to say the year of Donald Trump's first year in office.
00:16And the way books happen is typically they're written before.
00:20And he basically made a lot of predictions in that.
00:24And he mentioned that with Donald Trump running for president,
00:27that this was just another illustration of the ebb and flow of progress that happens
00:32for black Americans.
00:33And so when we say there's pushback, pushback happens in pockets,
00:37but it's just like an ever, it feels like an everlasting flow.
00:41You know, when we were, when we were, I want to say not delivered, Jesus.
00:45But when we are emancipated from slavery, there was a pushback of Jim Crow.
00:51When Obama was president, there was the pushback of Trump.
00:54And there are definitely like little ripples in between time.
00:56But that pushback is almost inevitable because of the racist roots of this country.
01:01And so I just want people to ensure or make sure that people understand that Project 2025
01:06isn't just a new thing.
01:08It's actually been in the work for some years.
