00:00I did want to make sure that we talked about mental health, because election season can
00:03also be weighing on a lot of people, especially this particular election cycle.
00:07It's something new.
00:08It's something different every day.
00:10Something meant to stress you out.
00:11Something meant to rage bait you.
00:13Some new information that you're trying to understand if this is real or not.
00:17So what do you think, do you have any practices, one, to preserve your own mental health, and
00:23then as far as mental health services, how can we, in what ways can mental health services
00:28improve to support us?
00:30Well, I just want to acknowledge at first that before going into the ways and the things
00:37that we can do, that this is draining.
00:39All of this is draining, talking about these issues can be draining, constantly looking
00:44on the news can be draining, and just really this can all be draining.
00:48And I remember in middle school I was very lucky to take classes which really educated
00:54us on these topics.
00:55And a lot of times I would come home very emotionally drained.
00:59I mean, it was like very heavy information.
01:02And so I had to find ways to kind of, I guess, you have to find ways, and if you decide to
01:07go into this work very, and you're frequently doing this work, you have to find ways to
01:13reconnect and be able to connect back again.
01:17And so I think a lot of times finding some sort of escapism, watching something funny,
01:23or just doing stuff that you enjoy.
