Our world consumes millions of tennis balls every year. Renewaball is the first to make them sustainable and eco-friendly.
Transcript
00:00Globally, we use 300 million tennis balls a year.
00:12We found out that 97% of all tennis balls end up in landfill or incineration.
00:33Renewable is the first ever circular tennis ball.
00:36So it's a tennis ball made of old used tennis ball.
00:40And it's produced locally here in Europe.
00:43Compared to normal tennis balls, they are produced in the Far East.
00:49At over 200 clubs here in the Netherlands, we have a collection container where people
00:54after they've played a match and the balls are old, they put the balls in the container.
01:00And we see via a microchip whether the container is full.
01:06We separate the black rubber and the polyester and the nylon.
01:11The black rubber we use again on renewables and we put 100% biological felt on top of
01:16it.
01:17Our tennis ball has 29% lower CO2 emissions than a normal tennis ball.
01:39We have a very ambitious plan because we want to be the new benchmark in tennis balls.
01:44We just launched this year in the Netherlands.
01:46We are launching next year in Germany.
01:48And from there we take the biggest tennis countries in Europe, France, Spain, Italy.
01:52And then we continue to the US and the Far East.
