00:00He set the stage one final time for a monumental Monday to end
00:07out week six at MetLife. It's the Jets and the Bills. DRS on
00:13paper. This game is a great conclusion to any week on
00:17Monday night football in prime time. Divisional dual Josh
00:21Allen and Buffalo, Aaron Rodgers and New York. Then you add in
00:25the stakes. Whoever wins tonight will sit atop the AFC
00:29East. Even the Jets with a victory at three and three
00:32would hold the tiebreaker advantage over Buffalo early.
00:36But then you add in everything that we have seen in the last
00:41six days and really the last 20 months since Aaron Rodgers
00:45decided he wanted to play for New York. Robert Sala fired on
00:50Tuesday. Jeff Ulbricht, the interim head coach that Daniel
00:54Hackett demoted. Todd Downing promoted and all of the
00:58pressure on Aaron Rodgers. It comes to a head tonight in
01:03East Rutherford, New Jersey. The Jets remain a slight home
01:07underdog. Will the Jets win with all the mounting pressure
01:12on Aaron Rodgers and gangrene? The Jets win tonight. I do
01:16believe that and maybe you'd get a different angle out of me
01:19if James Cook was 100% healthy and Khalil Shakir was too, then
01:22probably the Jets wouldn't have lost their last two games
01:24either at that point. But they did and there's a chance that
01:26they're going to lose three straight games and one of the
01:27hardest scenarios in professional sports other than
01:30like let's go on the road on a Thursday night after no
01:33practice and it's really hard to do is having three straight
01:35road games in the NFL. You're exhausted at the end of it and
01:38a must win game for both of these teams. I think actually
01:41favors the Jets slightly here. Now, I don't think anything in
01:44the room Ben actually changes with the offense per se on the
01:47Jets. You know, Nathaniel Hackett's now out there.
01:49Downing's going to call the plays. As you said, I
01:51understand all that, but you know what does change here when
01:53Robert Sella gets fired? It's Aaron Rodgers understanding
01:57when he's in a moment by himself going like it's
01:59actually on me now. I gotta play good football and you
02:01shouldn't have to recenter yourself as a Hall of Fame
02:04quarterback to say, oh now it's falling on me. It's usually
02:07always on you, but I just think now it's he understands the
02:10weight and the magnitude of this game tonight where it's
02:13reflected because let me get something straight here. If the
02:15Jets lose this game 40 to 39 and Aaron Rodgers goes for 385
02:19yards and five touchdowns and they still get beat in this
02:22game, then so be it at that point. It's not his fault, but
02:25the way the defense has played, it's been the offense's issues
02:29for why the Jets are under 500. He understands that I expect a
02:33clean game tonight. I would be surprised if Aaron Rodgers
02:36turns the football over, which means again, Aaron Rodgers
02:40being average should be good enough to win tonight. Rely on
02:43the running game. The defense make those passing plays when
02:45they're available and I think the Jets come away with a
02:48victory.
