Oregon Defeats Ohio State in Thrilling Big Ten Showdown

00:00In the Big Ten on Saturday night inside Ottson Stadium. Two
00:09versus three. Ohio State and Oregon. Game of the year to the
00:13designation after game of the year one in Tuscaloosa. Another
00:18top five tilt between Alabama and Georgia exceeded our
00:22wildest expectations. So too did Saturday down to the closing
00:27seconds in Eugene. Oregon wins outright as a field goal
00:32underdog at home. 3231 over Ohio State. Both quarterbacks
00:38were sensational when you look at the box score, but one very
00:43costly mistake from Will Howard in the final 6 seconds
00:47taking off to run sliding as time expired inside Ottson
00:54Stadium. Oregon picks up a monumental win in a Big Ten
00:59battle against the Buckeyes 3231. And by the way, what
01:04600 what 660 670 total yards passing between these two
01:09quarterbacks here for touchdowns and no interceptions.
01:11It was a really clean game. The interesting thing for me as
01:14it broke down was I thought Ohio State would win this game.
01:16I did, but they're the more talented team, but not
01:18necessarily because we didn't think Oregon had a good
01:20offense. It's just how good that Ohio State defense seems
01:24to be and they got shredded yesterday and sometimes it is
01:26about competition and who you played how you can build up
01:28those statistics, but it wasn't like we were questioning. Ohio
01:31State's defense coming into the season like hey, maybe these
01:33young kids can get it together like no, we expected dominance
01:36right out of the gate. I was really impressed by Oregon for
01:39continue to fire away. Gabriel just made a play after play to
01:42get them back into it. They ran for five yards per carry and
01:45also two rushing touchdowns. I was impressed, but yes, Will
01:48Howard at the end of the game know the time know the clock
01:51know the distance. You even had a timeout at that point where
01:54you could have easily called a quarterback sneak or quarterback
01:57draw ran 10 yards slid down called that timeout for a
02:00legitimate chance or just keep it simple. The five yard
02:03outrout just to get you a little bit closer. He did the
02:05unthinkable because everybody in the stadium knew the time and
02:09it felt like Will Howard just didn't have that clock in his
02:11head and continue to ran all the way down. You might as well
02:14just try to run into the end zone at that point because he
02:16slides down with no time on the clock sort of grabs his head
02:19and away you go. It looks like one of the reporters or maybe
02:22the camera guys is giving a little bit of the business here.
02:24He wasn't happy with after that, but that was a tough game
02:27overall. But again, the takeaways are awesome game.
02:30Let's see the rematch. Both of these teams can still make it
02:32into the college football playoff, which is exactly what
02:34we wanted. You got an unbelievable football game on a
02:37Saturday night with the chance for a rematch for Ohio State to
02:40get revenge and get into the playoff. And also, you know what
02:42that means. If Oregon does run the table themselves and finds
02:45himself in the Big Ten Championship game and loses
02:47that game. Hey, Oregon, it's all good. You're still going to
02:50the college football playoff. I love this season, Ben.
