00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. has returned to the country.

00:04And he will bring home the fruits of his contribution to the interest of the Philippines in the summit,

00:09including the investment from a company in Thailand.

00:18President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.'s productive and successful campaign

00:23in the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits and Related Summits

00:26in the Vientiane-Laos People's Democratic Republic

00:29where the Executive Board placed the interests of the Philippines in the so-called gathering.

00:34As part of the assistance of the Executive Board,

00:37some international issues are affected not only in the Philippines

00:41but in the entire ASEAN region, particularly the issue in the West Philippine Sea.

00:46I reaffirm that the Philippines will continue to defend our sovereignty,

00:51sovereign rights, and jurisdiction in the West Philippine Sea.

00:55And of course, all Philippine actions will be done in accordance with international law.

01:01The Philippines is continuing to strengthen its partnerships with all countries

01:05who share our values and our commitment to peace and to the rule of law.

01:09The ASEAN leaders also agreed on the promotion of sustainable agriculture

01:14to achieve long-term food security in the region,

01:17support for micro, small, and medium enterprises,

01:20and focus on digitalization and tourism.

01:24To prepare our country and our region for the future,

01:27we are together galvanizing our efforts to support the digital transformation of our economies.

01:32We are shepherding efforts in ASEAN

01:34to promote inclusive and sustainable tourism across the region as well.

01:39This will complement the Philippines' initiatives in positioning itself

01:43as a prime destination for sustainable tourism.

01:46As part of the summit on climate change,

01:50and as host of the Loss and Damage Fund Board,

01:52the President gave a privilege to the Philippines

01:55to have a role in climate finance

01:58to countries affected by the effects of climate change.

02:01In fact, the country will host the Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference

02:06on Disaster Risk Reduction next week

02:09to help other countries to strengthen their response to calamities.

02:14On the sideline of the summit,

02:16the President accepted the acquisition of a share of Public Company Ltd. from Thailand

02:21to head the country for the production of fiber cement building materials.

02:25This investment is worth Php 2.9 billion

02:29and according to the executive, is a big deal for the Philippines,

02:33especially in the construction of jobs for the Filipinos.

02:36The President also held bilateral meetings with several leaders,

02:39including Vietnam, where the rice trade between the two countries is even stronger.

02:44Also in Canada, where the President expressed his gratitude

02:48for the continued support of Canada to the country,

02:51especially in defense and maritime interests.

02:53Stronger bilateral relations were the result of the President's assistance to the leader of New Zealand.

03:23as a host ASEAN in 2025.
