New Leeds Rhinos signing Jake Connor

Here's star recruit Jake Connor's first interview following his move to Leeds Rhinos from Huddersfield Giants.

00:00Jake, welcome to Leeds Rhinos. How did the move come about?

00:05Yeah, it all happened pretty quickly really. Obviously I nearly joined here on loan mid-season,

00:13but fell through last minute and then the opportunity came round again and jumped at it really.

00:20It all happened kind of quick but I'm happy to be here now.

00:24And you've said it's the biggest move of your career so far?

00:28Yeah, definitely. At this stage I'm still only 30 and this has been a big club since I've known about rugby.

00:38It's definitely one of the biggest clubs about and probably the biggest club I'll ever play for.

00:43Do you think it's the sort of move that can give your career a bit of a kick-start after a disappointing season last year?

00:49Yeah, definitely. At first I said a couple of years didn't work out the way I wanted them to,

00:56but hopefully a change will do me good and I want to get back to my best.

01:01I want to be competing for silverware and I feel like this place can definitely help me get back to my best

01:07and hopefully I can improve with the team as well.

01:09And what do you make of the squad leads you've got at the moment?

01:12Yeah, it's looking good. We're putting quite a good squad together and I'm just keen to get started and start fresh

01:22and see what happens in pre-season.

01:24Are you looking forward to working with Bron Arthur?

01:26Yeah, obviously I met him before I signed and leaving that meeting I didn't have any doubts about coming here.

01:35He made me feel welcome straight away and told me what he wants from me and what I need to work on.

01:41So, I'm ready to go.
