00:00 Well, welcome to Leeds. Just had your first training session how did it go?
00:05 Yeah, really good. Learning names, learning a lot of things at the moment.
00:10 But yeah, getting in day one and getting moving around with the boys, yeah it's been really good.
00:14 You arrived yesterday, so you've been sort of more or less straight into it?
00:18 Yeah, straight into it. That's how I wanted to do it. I think if you bask in your jet lag, as they say, you just feel sorry for yourself.
00:25 I've been up since three and I'm hoping to get a record workout sped up today and try to stay up as late as possible and try to keep that jet lag straight away.
00:33 Weather not too bad for you?
00:35 No, I've had two days of sun. I'm the one under one, apparently there's a storm coming so I'm waiting for it.
00:39 But yeah, I'm dressed appropriately.
00:42 Yeah, yeah, yeah. You must have been, obviously it's a while since you signed, you've been getting married in Australia and everything.
00:49 You must have been quite anxious to get over and meet everybody at last?
00:53 Yeah, definitely. It has been a super busy period for myself back in Australia.
00:56 But yeah, definitely a bit anxious. Obviously, you see the boys training hard.
01:01 As I was doing my own training overseas, you know that you're missing time with the team.
01:07 There's always that tiny bit of guilt that you're not with them.
01:10 But knowing that I need to do what I need to do.
01:12 So yeah, now I'm here, I just want to make the most of the time we have now in pre-season and build those combinations.
01:18 You're obviously in good shape, having trained with the Roosters in pre-season over that.
01:23 Yeah, yeah, getting a good pre-season with Amel, it's always going to help you.
01:27 So I haven't just been kicking around down the park. I've been doing a pre-season, just not this one here.
01:33 Looking forward to, I think there's a couple more pre-season games.
01:36 Looking forward to getting one with you before the real business starts?
01:39 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hopefully I will see Spike De Roos on day one.
01:42 Just keep my feet under me and Spike De Roos and see whether he thinks he's the best.
01:46 Have you always fancied running a crack at Super League?
01:49 Definitely something I want to try in my life.
01:51 Definitely want to come over at some point in my career.
01:54 Never really put too many, too much timelines on my career. Just seeing what happens.
01:58 And obviously the opportunity came at the right time, right club, right coach, right players.
02:03 I think the boys we have here, it's really motivating and excited to see what we can do this year.
02:08 How did the Moves Leagues come about?
02:11 Leagues itself, not necessarily. I obviously knew about it.
02:17 But obviously conversations with Roe came up through the club, through Rooster, through Leeds.
02:23 They've been having conversations and obviously meeting Roe, yeah, I could tell that straight away.
02:27 We could gel on a deeper football level.
02:30 I guess how we think about the game at Rugby League and how we style our football like the best we want to play.
02:37 It just really drew me to it.
02:39 Obviously, previously thinking about coming up to Super League, it just kind of made sense.
02:43 Everything just made sense.
02:45 It's regarded as an attacking style of footy over here.
02:48 Do you think the way Super League is played will suit you? Have you seen much of Super League?
02:52 Yeah, I have watched a bit of Super League.
02:54 Look, I think defensive teams can win comps, best attacking teams can win comps.
03:00 You've got to find your style as a team. You've got to find what you're best at and you've got to be able to do that.
03:05 Yeah, I guess everyone will call it a more attacking league.
03:10 Yeah, I guess that does excite me. To answer your question, it does excite me that there could be more opportunities to attack.
03:15 I've got some players that can do that.
03:17 So, yeah, it's exciting to see where this team can go and the style of play we've come up with.
03:22 Do you know any of the other guys in the team you've played with?
03:27 Yeah, I've spent a little bit of time with Reece at Borussia's.
03:29 Obviously, I was super young back then, but I met Reece Martin back then and obviously come across some of the other Aussie boys as we played each other.
03:36 So, besides that, no, not really. It's meeting a lot of new people today.
03:40 Well, that's part of the challenge of the adventure, isn't it?
03:42 Yeah, of course. Of course, yeah. Adds another layer of it.
03:45 But, hey, we're going to be spending a lot of time together. It'll be good to know it.
03:49 Yeah, and I believe you went to Dunlop more or less straight after you'd arrived.
03:53 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
03:54 What do you make of that place?
03:55 Yeah, yeah. Like I was saying just before, the history has surprised me.
03:59 How much history there was there and there is. Hopefully this team can create more.
04:04 Thank you.
