Transcript
00:00Okay, so if you just tell me then, and tell me a bit about the situation that you're in.
00:05So, my name is Mantas. My situation is like this, but I have a really bad neighbourhood.
00:11I can't have a decent, normal life, because at my age we all want peace and quiet, but I can't do this.
00:20I'm regularly attacked by racist stuff, and all the time my house is attacked, like paints, eggs, stones,
00:30all possible rubbish flying to my garden, well, at least not to me, but that's daily basics.
00:38As well, I can't sleep at night, because screaming, shouting, no matter what time it is,
00:44whether it's midnight, early morning, there is definitely no difference.
00:51Then why did you contact the newspaper?
00:54Because I've been reporting many times to police.
00:59Police always was coming, they tried to do this, but as I understand, they can't do nothing.
01:05Later on I tried to report to anti-social behaviour services,
01:12and after a few weeks or months they sent me a letter back,
01:18that they are not opening the case, they have no evidence or something like that, or not enough evidence.
01:25And recently, which frustrated me to go to newspapers, I have a tent outside in my garden for my kids,
01:34and my kids, it was playing with Nintendo Switch, spending time in tent,
01:40and it suddenly starts going everything to my tent, like piece of wood, logs, something heavy, things,
01:51and as well, my older son waking me up and saying, somebody said, they're gonna stab us.
02:00I report to police, same second, I report to police, and police told me,
02:05we will call you back on Tuesday, 6 p.m. or evening.
02:09So, crime is going and you get, after a few days, contact.
02:15And what do you hope that can happen in the future?
02:18In future, well, that Tuesday, police officer called me, she tries really to sort it out, things,
02:26but, like I'm saying, I think police can't do nothing.
02:29Because first, the question is, is it council house neighborhood who is living?
02:34I'm always saying yes, and they can't do nothing.
02:37So, we try to give me some advices, and everything, where to go, as well as antisocial behavior services,
02:45but I don't trust them anymore, after first time when I sent them a letter, and we just rejected.
02:53So, we have no other choice, how to inform news, because all, like you know, world is going and everything going to public.
