00:00My name is Daisy McKenzie. I am a mum of five boys, including little Albie, who we lost last
00:07year at age one. So Albie was just the happiest boy, like even when I think about him I just
00:12can't help but smile because he would just, he couldn't walk so he would just army crawl
00:17everywhere and he had a smile whenever anyone would say his name or look at him.
00:22He loved playing with his brothers. He would play quite rough with his brothers as boys do.
00:28And so he was all about dinosaurs and cars and he enjoyed being outside regardless of the weather.
00:34He would always want to be in the garden. He was just, he was just so full of joy and he
00:38was just so happy and content. He was just the cutest little baby.
00:58After Albie's first birthday, two weeks later, we put Albie to bed after nursery one day and
01:06he was so happy. He was looking at some new fairy lights that we'd bought and he was looking at all
01:11the twinkling lights which were making him smile. And then he drifted off to sleep and sadly that
01:17night he passed away and didn't wake up the next morning. Obviously our world's broke and we
01:25eventually found out that it was due to SUDC which is Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood.
01:32So we still don't know why Albie died. So this week is Baby Loss Awareness Week which is a week
01:39I never used to know even existed. It was a much happier and simpler time to be honest but
01:45the week brings a lot of emotion but for me I remember this week not the loss of Albie but
01:51the life of Albie and I really don't need a week because I think of him every week and every hour
01:58of every day. But this week is special because everyone is coming together and everyone's
02:03remembering the babies and the charities are all benefiting. The week in itself does so much good
02:08not just for us bereaved parents but for the people supporting us as well. So there's a few
02:13lovely things going on for Baby Loss Awareness Week which is so nice to see everyone pulled together.
02:18For example the management of the Eastgate have organised for Falcon Square to be lit up blue and
02:23pink and the Ness Bridge is going to be lit up blue and pink because that's sort of a worldwide
02:28thing that you try to light up as many landmarks blue and pink as you can so we've got a few along
02:32the coast as well so it'll be so special to see them all. High five to mummy. High five to mama.
