00:00Thursday night football in Seattle, get yourself an NFC West game between the Niners coming
00:12off a bad loss at home to the Cardinals and the Seahawks coming off a bad loss at home
00:17to the Giants.
00:18So here we go.
00:19Why don't we start with Kyle Shanahan.
00:20Let's just say I watched him.
00:22I was looking for a lot of things in Kyle's press conference this week before the game.
00:27He really wasn't in the mood to talk.
00:29I'll just start by saying that he didn't have much to say.
00:33He's very focused, especially as he continues to lose games in his division.
00:37But here he is talking about what the Seahawks are now with Mike McDonald as the head coach
00:42as opposed to Pete Carroll, who he has seen for years as the Niner head coach.
00:46What can you tell us about McDonald's scheme and what makes it special?
00:50I mean, does a real good job mixing all the schemes up, fronts, coverages, his players
00:56play real hard.
00:57They're coached well.
00:58Their techniques are good.
00:59They mix up their players and they mix up the works.
01:01What's a little different between that Seahawks squad and a Pete Carroll Seahawks squad?
01:07I mean, the schemes have changed.
01:10They run different schemes.
01:11Thanks.
01:12Thanks.
01:13Thanks.
01:14I mean, that was really exciting stuff.
01:15I got to tell you, that really, boy, my whole day changed with it.
01:22You think you'd have, you know, you face a guy forever and I get he's not there anymore,
01:28but thanks, Kyle, for all of that great wisdom that you've bestowed on us about the Seahawks now.
01:34I'm sure everybody's pumped up for the matchup.
01:35I love watching them lose.
01:36I got to tell you, like, everyone thinks they're so automatic.
01:39You told me yesterday they're still favored to go to the NFC Championship and to the Super Bowl.
01:44Still the favorites.
01:45They're two and three.
01:46I think that they're the favorites for the NFC and I believe they're second on the list
01:52on the Super Bowl, I believe.
01:54Second or third on the Super Bowl list, but they're the favorites in the NFC.
01:57That's for sure.
01:58Geno Smith has had a very good start to the season for Seattle as well, although they
02:04did lose to the Giants last week.
02:06Big game for him.
02:07Division Thursday night at home under the lights.
02:10Geno is ready.
02:11Sense of urgency is definitely always up, you know, especially when there's a division
02:16opponent.
02:17You know, those games are, you know, they matter the most sometimes.
02:19And so, you know, for us, Thursday night game, another primetime game, another chance to
02:24go out there and prove ourselves.
02:25But most importantly, you know, to take control of the division.
02:29You know, that's the important thing.
02:30It's a big game coming up again.
02:32Still early in the season, but our first crack at it.
02:35And, you know, we got to be prepared.
02:37I got to tell you, Mike, they laid an egg against the Giants at Lumen Field, and that's
02:44really all I needed to see.
02:47I don't think they're that good.
02:49I think their wins came against cream puffs like Miami, who have no quarterback.
02:55And to have the Giants, I mean, really push them around, that was amazing to me.
03:01And the other thing is, you know, the old saying, they are who we thought they were.
03:06The Niners are exactly who they are.
03:08They're two and three.
03:10And the reason why they're not good is because Purdy's been average, and he doesn't have
03:15Christian McCaffrey to bail him out.
03:17Christian McCaffrey's the best player on the team, and without him on their offense, they
03:23don't matter.
03:25And they gave all that money to Brandon Aiyuk.
03:27When do you see him making plays?
03:29And where's Debo?
03:31You know, the only guy I saw making plays for them is George Kittle, and he's like old
03:35news.
03:36I mean, honestly, Kelsey and Kittle are getting old, right, on Kansas City and San Francisco.
03:42At some level, they are, and yet they're still making plays.
03:47Where's all these big shot Debo and Aiyuk superstars?
03:51Where's all this, oh, we're going to give 65, 70 million to Brock Purdy, he's going
03:56to get his payday.
03:58I mean, Justin Fields has way better numbers than Purdy.
04:04They have to win this game tonight.
04:06San Francisco loses this game, goes to two and four, they're not going to a Super Bowl.
04:10And you can quote me on that.
04:12Like, at some level, they are who we think they are.
04:14Look at the record, it's who you are.
04:16It's not, oh, like we've been hearing the Bengals.
04:19The Bengals are one and effing four.
04:21That's who they are.
04:23That's exactly who they are.
04:25All they do is lose.
04:27And then I hear how great they are.
04:29Shut up.
