00:02 >> Donnie, we talked about it, the marquee matchup that we have week number five,
00:07 Sunday Night Football in Santa Clara, a rivalry renewed between the Dallas Cowboys
00:12 and the San Francisco 49ers, San Francisco a three and a half point home favorite,
00:17 the over under is 45 points.
00:19 DRS, just how good of a matchup are we going to see Sunday night in Santa Clara?
00:24 >> It's gonna be a lot of fun, two elite pass rushers going against each other in
00:27 a marquee matchup on Sunday night.
00:29 Finally, we wait for a nice Sunday night football game and we should get that.
00:33 It is interesting to see though that 45 total,
00:35 cuz both of these defenses, yes, are good.
00:38 But both of these offenses can move the football here,
00:40 even in blowout situations.
00:42 As you've seen the Dallas Cowboys smoke some teams only got to zero,
00:45 actually getting to zero, they had zero, the Giants.
00:48 And three points there last week for the New England Patriots.
00:51 I first look at this and go to myself, boy, that's a tough side to pick here.
00:55 But the total at 45, are we really going under?
00:58 These are two really good offensive teams you're getting after.
01:01 And again, I know the defenses are good, but
01:02 we're not asking for 53 and a half points, 55 points here.
01:06 45 should be doable, which means I'm not gonna be shocked when both teams are in
01:09 the 20s in this game, and therefore you got a good crack at that 45.
01:13 >> Yeah, DRS, I don't really know how I feel about the Dallas Cowboys offense,
01:18 honestly, to start off this year.
01:21 You look at the point totals for Dallas as a team, and
01:25 they're outstanding, 40 week number one against the New York Giants.
01:29 30 the next week against the New York Jets.
01:33 16 only against the Arizona Cardinals.
01:36 38 this past weekend against the New England Patriots.
01:39 However, the Dallas Cowboys have scored multiple defensive touchdowns.
01:43 Take last week, for example, two touchdowns defensively for
01:49 Dallas, and they scored two offensive touchdowns.
01:52 One in the opening quarter, one late in the fourth quarter,
01:56 when the game was really out of hand already.
01:59 And Dallas has the best scoring defense in the National Football League,
02:02 only allowing 10.3 points per game on average.
02:06 But they have their work cut out for them against San Francisco,
02:09 a 49ers offense that has scored at least 30 points in all four of their games so
02:15 far this year.
02:16 Christian McCaffrey can't be held out of the end zone at this point.
02:20 And the Niners still tie for the third best scoring defense in the National
02:23 Football League, only allowing 14.5 points per game.
02:27 I think if I was looking under,
02:30 it would actually be Dallas Cowboys team total under.
02:34 Go back to week number one, a blocked field goal return for a touchdown.
02:38 A interception of Daniel Jones taken back the other way to the house.
02:43 Now Dallas hasn't had to do much offensively, but they truly haven't.
02:47 Week number two against the New York Jets, 30 points, right?
02:51 15 of them, half of those 30 points scored via Brandon Aubrey and
02:56 his right foot.
02:58 Five field goals converted for Dallas, and they had really short fields.
03:01 The Jets defense very good, keeping Dallas out of the end zone and
03:06 not paying off those drives with a touchdown.
03:09 I agree, both teams have put up a lot of points.
03:12 But I think Dallas's offense has something to answer for this upcoming Sunday.
03:18 And if as we've seen so far this year, Donnie,
03:20 Brock Purdy's not turning over the football and taking care of it.
03:24 As he has really the entirety so far of his NFL career.
03:28 I don't know how Dallas's offense puts up all that many points against
03:31 San Francisco.
03:32 >> Yeah, no, we'll see what happens here.
03:35 But when you're looking at two elite scoring teams,
03:38 I guess would be the better version of this.
03:40 Because Kyle Shanahan's not gonna be, hey, you know what?
03:42 If we get to 17, we're gonna win this football game.
03:44 That's not the way these two teams are gonna play.
03:46 And also, we can't knock opportunistic defenses like the Dallas Cowboys.
03:49 Their front seven absolutely swarms.
03:52 So if you are Brock Purdy and you're built on the three step drop,
03:55 the five step drop, soon as I hit that back foot on those drops,
03:57 the football is away and I'm not gonna get sacked.
03:59 Then he's gonna be making quicker decisions,
04:01 which could lead to quicker interceptions there.
04:03 Because you're not gonna have a ton of time in the pocket either direction.
04:07 Boomer bus plays, what I like to take a look at here is, yes,
04:10 you have great offensive players on each side here.
04:12 They're going to make plays, but equally that defensive line on both sides
04:15 can get to the quarterback for strip sacks here.
04:17 It's not a bad thing to go three and out and look for a total.
04:20 And some people say that doesn't make any sense.
04:22 That means the defenses are dominating.
04:23 No, you know what kills your totals?
04:25 Eight play drives, six and a half minutes off the clock that end in a field goal.
04:29 That kills you.
04:30 A three and out can take a minute and a half of each, hey, two, three and out.
04:33 So we only burn four minutes off the clock.
04:34 I think you'll be fine in this game.
04:36 We'll both move the football as long as we're getting good playoff,
04:39 excuse me, good play conditions,
04:40 which I don't think we have any precipitation in the forecast.
04:43 I think we get points in this game.
04:44 And again, I don't mean points as 34-30 barn burner.
04:47 You don't need a lot in this game.
04:48 This game enters into the fourth quarter 20 to 17.
04:51 You probably got this.
