00:00Thursday night football kicks off week number six of this NFL
00:06season. The San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks. The
00:10Niners a three and a half point road favorite up in the
00:13Northwest against the Hawks. Total is 49 and a half. DRS, a
00:18Seattle team that started three and oh, but entering a big
00:21Monday night football game in Detroit, we questioned just how
00:25true or perhaps fraudulent that three and oh beginning was for
00:29Mike McDonald and the Seahawks team. Frankly, they've come
00:33back down to earth and they're one three and one against the
00:37spread. The only cover against Skylar Thompson and the Finns
00:42out in Seattle week number three. Well, San Francisco
00:46hasn't been great either and at least Seattle still has a
00:49winning record above 500 entering week six. The San
00:54Francisco 49ers, the Super Bowl co-favorites entering the year
00:58alongside KC. The very short favorites nearly half the price
01:02of everybody else in the NFC to win that conference crown
01:05entering this season are sub 500. They are two and three.
01:10They have been booked as a favorite in all five games this
01:13year. They have covered in each of their wins week number one
01:18against the Jets week number four as a double digit favorite
01:22against the New England Patriots at home and oh by the way,
01:25they've gone over in both of their wins, but Donnie the
01:29Niners have been a favorite in every football game, even
01:32Super Bowl fifty-eight dating back to the start of last
01:35season. They're just eleven and fourteen against the spread and
01:39to me, this is an easy spot. If you want to be a Super Bowl
01:43favorite, if you want to win the NFC, if you want to be
01:46looked at as the favorite to win a conference crown, this is a
01:50game despite it being a short week. The 49ers go on the road
01:54win comfortably and even cover as a three and a half point
01:57road favorite, but it is a short week Thursday night
02:01football game and that's what draws the doubt into my mind.
02:05It does and also we're banking on the 49ers here. Ben being
02:08that football team that we've known and love saying, man,
02:11they're very talented. They're hammering football teams on the
02:13way to the NFC championship on the way to the Super Bowl. It
02:16hasn't been that team. Yes. We love to win over the Jets week
02:19one. How good are the Jets actually at that point,
02:21Minnesota Vikings go on the road and they get beaten that
02:23game. The Vikings look like they're going to be a pretty
02:24formidable opponent here in the NFC, but then the Rams with
02:27basically nobody up double digits to blow that football
02:29game. You don't get any points for beating the Patriots. That's
02:32a horrendous franchise right now. And then the Cardinals
02:34came in. We had a double digit lead stole back game at the end
02:37and walked away with a victory. So we're just anticipating. Oh,
02:39it's no big deal at this point. Like some people might look at
02:42the Bangles like, oh, the offense is so good. They're one
02:44and four. I don't care. They're going to make a playoff run.
02:46You are what your record says you are. So now you line up
02:48against the Seahawks, but here's where I think the Seahawks are
02:50going to be at odds is that defense as we pointed out who
02:53they played and where they got their style points from or the
02:56maybe the easiest opponents you can possibly have and you're
02:58going to get tested. But I do like the fact that the Niners
03:01blew that game last week because they understand they're under
03:03500. It's like, hey, you know what Ben? We were unbeaten last
03:05week coming in. Maybe took the game a little bit easy. Took our
03:08foot up the gas up double digits. Where's that excuse
03:10when you're under 500? You don't have that at this point
03:12here. So I do expect the 49ers who I think have a better
03:15offense than Seattle overall. Quite frankly, a better overall
03:18defense, but that defense didn't show its teeth last week
03:20at all. Arizona was doing whatever they wanted to in big
03:23spots and on a key fourth down play a ball that was a 50-50
03:27jump ball downfield. Arizona won that and ended up driving
03:29down and getting the game-winning drive. So I look
03:32at this and say I want to trust the 49ers, but at the same time
03:36my brain's telling me you're going to trust the 49ers based
03:38on who they beat and who they played this year as if they're
03:40going to go to run on a Thursday night and when they're
03:42not getting points, they got to win roughly by a touchdown
03:44tonight to cover that three and a half. We'll see if they can
03:46get it done. I think they can do that not in love with it, but
03:50I trust that Niners offense to go up against that Seattle
03:52defense.
