00:00I'm Rebecca Norris and I'm the owner of The Clay Place, which is a pottery studio in Scarborough.
00:05I was on the Great Pottery Throwdown last year as a contestant and I've opened my pottery
00:11studio to allow other people to enjoy the wonderfulness that is clay.
00:16I was on the show last year, on the Great Pottery Throwdown last year, and I had an
00:21amazing time, met lots of wonderful people, had lots of experiments and lots of just great
00:27ideas to come away with and it really gave me a passion to come back and want to share
00:33that experience with other people in the community.
00:37So I started a pottery studio and now hold workshops and courses that allow other people
00:43to come and join in playing with clay.
00:46So The Clay Place is a fully equipped pottery studio with five pottery wheels, lots of tools,
00:53an extruder, a kiln, lots of shelves, lots of tools, and a slab roller, so lots of things
01:00that people can get really into clay with.
01:03So on the pottery wheel it can take a while to get the hang of, hand building is a lot
01:13easier in terms of getting the hang of it and also creatively you can get more out of
01:20hand building in my opinion, but having a go on the pottery wheel or hand building is
01:25really special.
