00:05is trying to expand their grassroots program to find new talents.

00:16The Association of Boxing Alliances in the Philippines or ABAP is determined to find new boxers

00:21who can be the next generation of boxing Olympians in the country.

00:25ABAP admitted that the National Team lacks boxers

00:29due to the limited number of athletes who want to be a part of the country.

00:34While there is still no clear support for boxing in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics,

00:39ABAP started recruiting young boxers to compete in the upcoming international tournaments.

00:45Those of us who are discovering in the country,

00:49Philippine National Games, Batang Pinoy,

00:51we don't all want to join the National Team.

00:53Because the slots are limited.

00:55So we really need better support in the grassroots.

01:09We don't earn it right away.

01:12They get it from training, from experience, from abroad.

01:15It's good when you're young.

01:17They are really programmed for the future.

01:22Currently, there are 47 members of the National Training Pool

01:25compared to 1,000 members of boxing teams from other countries.

01:29Using the plan to establish the grassroots program of the Philippine Boxing Team throughout the country,

01:33it will increase the chance of the Philippines to win the first gold medal in the Olympic Boxing Events.
