CINCINNATI -- The Bengals had three different 10-point leads Sunday but could not come away with the win as Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry prevailed in overtime, 41-38, Sunday at Paycor Stadium. Joe Burrow said after the game that he's not shocked the Bengals are 1-4. He knows exactly why they're at the bottom of the AFC North. The Bengals botched a 53-yard field goal attempt in overtime and Burrow threw a costly interception in the fourth quarter. Trags and Skinny break it all down, including locker room reaction following Sunday's loss.

00:00This is the Jungle Roar Skinny Bengals postgame pod for week five. It was a
00:06heartbreaker at Baycore Stadium 41-38 in overtime. Justin Tucker hits the
00:12game-winning field goal from 24 yards out with about three minutes left in the
00:17extra session. Skinny, this was a game the Bengals had won. It felt like several
00:22times they had not one, not two. They had three 10-point leads in the second half.
00:28The defense couldn't hold it, but it wasn't just I think the defense kind of
00:32failing at certain points. They were going up against a fantastic
00:36offense and fantastic quarterback in Lamar Jackson, no question. But it was the
00:42inability to execute down the stretch that a lot of people pointed to in that
00:48locker room, in that Bengal locker room we were in, that really led to them
00:52losing their fourth game in five outings this season. Mike, the thing is
00:57you can point to every phase. You can point to coaching. Zach Taylor getting
01:02conservative in the overtime period after they recovered the fumble. You can
01:05point to Joe Burrow, who was so good, and that's what stinks, because he was so good
01:10all day throwing an interception on the slant route to Jamar Chase when they
01:13were trying to add on. You can point to the defense that had issues all day. You can
01:17point then to Ryan Rekow for unfortunately dropping, not dropping, but
01:22kind of muffing a snap from center and trying to put a placement down for Evan
01:27McPherson missing the field goals. Mike, it was every phase from coaching to
01:31quarterback and offense to defense to special teams, and that's kind of the
01:36microcosm of this season, is it not? I mean, this team has lost four games. This
01:41team's lost four games by 16 total points to Kansas City, which is gonna go
01:46deep in the playoffs, to Baltimore, which is gonna go deep in the playoffs, and now
01:50to a Washington team that we look and go, gosh, they're pretty good. They're
01:55probably going to the playoffs. Maybe not. Maybe stuff happens as the season goes
01:58along, but they're really good at the moment offensively. And so you can look
02:02and go, those aren't awful losses in the micro. They're awful
02:07losses in the macro. I mean, 1-4 is 1-4, and they could still, Mike,
02:12they could be easily 4-1, if not for a Dajon Anthony penalty, if not for
02:18not getting a stop against Washington, which again, that's
02:21probably, you know, it's a thing. It's not a thing they
02:28couldn't control, but they can control that. And then today, literally, you had a
02:32chance to either get closer for the field goal, kick the field goal, not throw an
02:36interception, get a defensive stop, not let Derrick Henry go out for 51 yards to
02:39get down to the six. It was everything today in a nutshell.
02:44I want to take one quote, and this was asked by Paul Daner, Jr., postgame of Joe
02:49Burrow. Is there a lot of feeling of disbelief at 1-4? It feels like
02:54every game you make enough plays to win the game, like Skinny just said, but
02:59haven't been able to totally finish. Joe Burrow's answer. No, I know exactly how we
03:04are 1-4. We're not making plays at the end of the game to go and win it.
03:08I'm definitely not in disbelief. I know exactly what's happening. What were your
03:13thoughts when he said that? Yeah, no, and he's right. And some of that, no offense,
03:18dude, Mike, he was so good today. He was just, he was ridiculous, but at the wrong
03:24place, wrong time. And we can credit Marlon Humphrey for the jump of the route.
03:28We can credit or debit Jamar Chase, who admitted that he ran a bad route. Yes.
03:35He said, I ran a crappy route and clean it up. And I'm not sure I believe that,
03:39but that's fine. I'm glad for him taking accountability for that. And we can blame
03:43Joe Burrow for making that throw. There's so much blame to go around. And like I said,
03:47then you can go back to the overtime period, ball at the 38-yard line. Are you really going
03:51to settle for a 53-yard field goal? Are you really? That's a lot. I'm going to play devil's
03:59advocate and I'll tell you what Zach Taylor was thinking. We cannot afford to take a penalty.
04:06We certainly can't afford to get sacked. Understood. And I think his fear was somebody's
04:11going to break through. Especially, I believe at that point, Amarius Mims had returned to the game.
04:18He did. Yes, that's right, Mike. And he returned for the last series, I believe, of regulation
04:23when it was 38-38. And it might've been a series earlier. I don't think it was. I think we all
04:29guessed at that, but I think to your point, I think you're right on that. Yes. And my guess
04:34is that Zach Taylor was like, we are in field goal position. We're giving our best. You know,
04:40second to third. I think they are. I mean, with Evan McPherson, when you're at that spot,
04:45with the wind being relatively calm, sunny day, weather wasn't an issue, you assume you got the
04:51snap down, that ball's going through. So what I wrote on local12.com was I didn't point to that.
04:58I made that certainly a factor because it was like literally there was every phase of the game
05:02had their issue from defense to not making stops, to Joe Burrow throwing a pick, to Evan missing the
05:11kick because of the bad hole, whatever. So it wasn't the only factor of the game. But here's
05:16the only thing I would say to that, Mike. And I'm not saying you're wrong because there's a part of
05:20me. I mean, as a coach myself, I coach high school basketball and I kick myself 50 ways from Sunday
05:26on decisions. Don't go right. I kick myself. I swap myself. And I go, I go, man, that was a good
05:32call, my guy. So I get it. But who's who's the best player on the Bengals? I mean, Mike, who's
05:38the best? Thank you. Right. I knew that answer. So that was kind of rhetorical. So Joe Burrow is
05:44the best player on the Bengals and you're not going to let him throw a pass. I know he checked
05:49out of one because both Joe and Zack admitted that he checked out of a play that didn't look
05:54right. That's fine. I'm good with that part. And you are, too. We all are. I mean, that's what
05:58quarterbacks do. They check out of plays you don't think are going to work. And I'm fine with that.
06:01But you're going to go three straight runs and go for a 53 yarder. Man, that's a big ask of a
06:08kicker. I know he can thump it. I love Evan. But gosh darn, that's a big ask. When Joe Burrow was
06:14cooking all day other than the interception, the interception was bad. Whoever's fault it was,
06:19Joe's, Jamar's, whatever. He was cooking all day and you're not going to let him throw a ball
06:26and you're paying him that kind of money and you're not going to trust him to make the right
06:29decision, right play. I'm not sure I live with that, Mike. OK, Kelsey Conway followed up that
06:36answer with to that point, when a season like this has gone the way it has, a lot of questions
06:41will be asked about the preparation. Do you feel there's enough accountability from the coaching
06:45staff to the players right now? Joe Burrow's answer, there have been tough conversations had.
06:52I think our coaches are handling it the right way. And whenever you're one in four,
06:56whenever you're in a tough situation, there are tough conversations that are going to be had that
07:02guys aren't going to like. Those conversations have been had. So I'm happy with how we're going
07:06about it. We're obvious. We obviously have to win. That's no secret. But I think people
07:12are handling it the right way. Yeah, that was an interesting comment because
07:19I don't know if it's is that a Cam Taylor Britt question? Is that a Lou Anna Rumo to his defense
07:25question? Is that a question to guys that have come back off of injury? Is it a Teagan question?
07:32Is it Jamar Chase question? That was an interesting answer to me. I'm not sure what to make
07:37of that. What did you make of that? So I'm going to throw it back at you. I think I'm not sure what
07:43to make of that, Mike. I think the tough conversations to be had have to do with everybody
07:50doing what they need to do during the week to be prepared. And I think usually when I see that or
07:56hear that it's players not being in the right position. That's a fair point. And not being
08:01prepared. You're not necessarily going to get on a guy for making a physical mistake in a game.
08:07If you get beat, if Cam Taylor Britt, who lost Zay Flowers on the first drive of the game,
08:16he had a bad coverage downfield, used bad technique. That's a physical mistake. I think
08:26that point of Joe Burroughs is pointed mainly at focus and preparation during the week. That's what
08:33I think that quote gets to. So I guess I would ask this because we can try to poke around this
08:40because we talked to both coordinators. We talked to Zach. We talked to them on the record a lot.
08:45We talked to them off the record a lot. Who is that that isn't doing that is the question. That's
08:51the part for me that's interesting because I don't know who that's pointed towards.
08:57I think if you get into that too much, that's when the finger pointing starts.
09:02Sure. And that's not good.
09:04What Burroughs is trying to do is he's trying to let everybody know players are getting talked to
09:12and the whole idea that players aren't going to like it and don't like it. The coaches are trying
09:19to get some of these players to wake up and get pissed off. And I think that's working.
09:26And I think the effort level is very representative of a winning team.
09:31They're just not doing what they need to at the end of game.
09:33So it's so weird, Mike, because I do. It's funny. This team is one in four.
09:39And again, this is going to sound stupid. They could easily.
09:43Three, four, one, three and two at the worst. Yes. And that's the part that's so frustrating.
09:50If you're a fan, if you're a player, if you're the coaching staff, because it's not like they're
09:56light years away. You played it. I think you would agree with this. Baltimore is really good.
10:00They're just really good. I mean, Lamar makes Lamar makes just such. I mean, how many times
10:04a day he make a play? You go, my word, what was that? You just stiffed armed a dude who's 300
10:10pounds and you shoved him out of your face and you kept scrambling and then you just slung one
10:14back across the goal line to a guy. You have no business doing that. That's the dumbest play ever.
10:19And oh, hi, Isaiah. Likely that's a touchdown. I mean, that that's the that's that's where they're
10:24at at the moment. But that's also that shows the margin of error is so doggone small that
10:30that's where you're at with that. Hey, everybody, it's tracks. Mike Petraglia,

11:50See, and I think fans are going to be upset because they see John Harbaugh and Harbaugh
11:55teams are winning those games. Yep, they are. They are losing that game. Great point. And that's
12:02what Bengal fans are going to center on. Rightly, wrongly, fairly, unfairly. I think it's fair.
12:08John Harbaugh has a Super Bowl ring. John Harbaugh's been to a couple of a couple of other
12:14AFC championship games. John Harbaugh has that winning culture behind him.
12:22And I think Zach Taylor thought he was so close to getting that winning. Yeah, certainly after 2022
12:28in a game like today, that winning culture has to show up at the end. Yes. And it's not there.
12:34And you can't, there's no injuries to blame today, right? No, no injury. I mean, I mean,
12:41you could argue, you could argue Dax going down. Yes. And you know, the news doesn't look like
12:48it's going to be great on Dax Hill. And certainly that had an impact on the past. That alone,
12:54even when Dax went down, this team found a way. Yep. Come back and get 10 point leads
13:01three different times, three different times. That is not the culture of a winning program.
13:05No. And that's, that's what's so weird. I honestly, when they, the, the, the touchdown
13:10pass to Jamar chase that made it 38, 28. In my mind, I'm like, wow, that was the play of plays.
13:17You have Eric Hall and drew sample who are nothing more. Well, Eric Hall is not a bit part.
13:21Eric Hall is going to be a really good player. Right. But, but for that play, he was a bit part.
13:27And those two dudes made two great blocks to spring Jamar chase on a 70 yard touchdown. You're
13:32like, okay, 38, 28, you're good. And they weren't good. And that's the amazing part to me. Um,
13:40they weren't even close to good. And, you know, again, some of you, I said, you can pin this on
13:46everybody. Then you go down the next drive at 38, 35 and Joe throws an interception. He was
13:52the worst part. He was so stinking good. And he throws that. And again, you can Jamar can pin it
13:58on himself. You can tip your cap to Marlon Humphrey because he was really, he is really good. They
14:03love to play inside leverage on stuff like that. They're really good at playing slants. Um, it was
14:08funny because I think in the last week's game against Buffalo, the, uh, the, the broadcast crew,
14:13um, uh, for NBC pointed that out. And I'm like, that's an interesting point. And then
14:18Marlon plays that leverage today makes a great play. But, um, you know, the thing is you, you,
14:27I don't, we all try to point a finger at this of how do you make an extra play? And I'm not
14:32sure they understand how to make an extra play. Mike, they haven't demonstrated it and you are
14:39what you are. I hope ourselves would always say confidence is, uh, the, the demonstration of, uh,
14:47ability time after time after time. And that Bengals are not doing that right now. That's
14:52why they don't play with a lot of confidence at the end of games. You have to eventually
14:57make those plays at the end of the end of the games. Uh, last week you could say they did that
15:01against Carolina. Yes. With one of the ball. Yes. And they, and they absolutely made the plays.
15:06They had to make Evan McPherson did hit that field goal to made it 34, 24 last week, game over.
15:12They didn't do it this week. What a segue that is to my next point. No, I tweeted and you know
15:19where I'm going with this, the ghost of Christmas Eve, Brad St. Louis. Oh my Lord. Um, 2000. Now
15:28that was a bad snap. Well, it wasn't perfect. It wasn't bad. It wasn't over somebody's head.
15:36It wasn't short hopped. It was not perfect. No. And I thought that's a lot of grief for that,
15:42but continue your point. No, no. But, um, so we were all in a tough spot and I'm pretty sure you
15:49were in on this with Ryan recount. I think you were. And, um, Cal out of Midas is next to him
15:54in the locker. And I think the question was asked about the snap and Ryan, to his credit, didn't
16:00roll calendar, the bus, which is really nice to see. And those guys are so tight. They get it.
16:06Like we're going to make a mistake. Everyone's while you pick me up, I'll pick you up. You I'll
16:11make a bad snap. Help me. Um, I'll make a perfect snap. You'll put a bad hole down. Help me. And
16:19based on the whole recollection of watching the replay, wouldn't perfect snap, right?
16:24No, it was inside. It was loan inside and cows really good usually. And then Ryan says,
16:30I tried to put it down too fast. Right. And he did. And it wasn't, it was so wonky that Evan had
16:35no chick. Cause as we all saw in the press box, right. It was Susan and fans saw it too. As soon
16:40as the kick went up, it's like, Oh my gosh, he didn't hit that cleanly at all. That's weird.
16:45And then you see the replay and you're like, I understand why that's weird. And so I'm not sure
16:50who to blame on that. I'm not sure it's fair to blame a guy. It always is. Cause fans want to
16:56blame somebody. I think it's just, you know what? That's why you don't try a 53 yard field goal,
17:01Mike. That's why, but skinny, that could have happened on a 28 yard. Sure. But, but, but to
17:09your point, I'll give you the credit here. If that's a shorter field goal, maybe he gets that
17:14thing up in the air and even he got, he, he got it up. He got it up enough to go about 50 yards,
17:20short, wide left. That said the point is, and I think I, I think my lead on my column was,
17:27you know, that's never automatic, even though these guys are good from 50 yards plus,
17:32you know, it's automatic. Mike, do you know what's automatic?
17:36Oh, I I'll tell you what's automatic is running the ball into the end zone and scoring a touchdown.
17:41That's exactly what's automatic. It doesn't have to be a running play,
17:45but I've got my $290 gazillion quarterback. Who's been hot all day. It's one thing of Joe and,
17:53and I get, maybe they're spooked by the interception. They shouldn't have been
17:57because you knew when Joe throws the interception, they're really, he's really good after that.
18:01Were they spooked? If they were spooked, shame on you guys, man.
18:04Yeah. And now as you say that skinny, I'm buying into what you're saying, like,
18:10and there were some of these comments after the game, you know, on, on the X and I, you know,
18:16I'm doing so much after the game, I kind of just let it slide and I don't pay them any nevermind,
18:21but Zach Taylor isn't using his best player to coach aggressively. And that cannot be accepted
18:32under any circumstances. You expect your best player to go out and win the game. And remember
18:38it was a bull, I believe against San Francisco, the overtime game in 2021, it was the same,
18:45essentially the same criticism. You remember that skin correct.
18:49They hit Kittle for the touchdown. I think if I'm, if I'm not wrong, it was, it was something
18:52like that. Oh yeah. No, I think you're right. I'm sorry. Yeah, you're right. Right. But yeah. So,
18:57so yeah, that's your point today. I'm not, listen, I don't need to throw it three straight downs.
19:03I would certainly throw it on first down and you, you call a quick pass play and Joe's smart
19:10enough to, if somebody's in his face to go throw it away on second down, throw it away. He's smart
19:16enough. You don't give enough credit to be smart enough to go, Hey man, I'm not kicking this out
19:21of field goal range. Now I know the one at the end of regulation, um, he held it for a bit and
19:26got sacked, but that was the end of regulation. There was no hurry or urgency to do something.
19:31There was urgency to do something here and you don't let him throw a pass.
19:36Come on. I was really, I gotta tell you though, with a minute 35, I believe it was to go in
19:42regulation regulation. Yeah. I'm like, well, they've got a great opportunity here. Then they
19:46get back on first down and I'm like, that's a breakdown. That's when I think I thought the
19:51pressure came from over the Bengals, right side of the offensive line. And I don't know if it was
19:57a Marius Mims. It was a Marius because he came back in the game. Yeah. And I think they targeted
20:02that right away. I understand. I understand that. But I mean, Mike, back to the overtime thing,
20:09I'm not going to let Joe Burrow not try to win this game for me, the way he was playing,
20:14the way the ball was coming out of his hand, the decision-making he's good at. Again,
20:19the sack in regulation was one of, okay, I'm taking a sack. It's regulation. I'm not going
20:24to do something stupid over time down there. He's going to throw it away or he's going to eat it.
20:29He's going to figure out something to do. And you went run, run, kick. And listen, I,
20:35we all love Evan. Evan's great kid. He's a great kicker. And if that ball had been held properly,
20:40and I feel so sad for Ryan Rico, cause he's been such a good holder, such a good punter,
20:46all those things. I'm sad for that kid. And we all are. I mean, whether you're, you know,
20:50I'm not a homer by any stretch, but I'm sad for the kid. Um, but at the end of the day,
20:57you literally played for a 53. That's what you played for was a 53 yard field goal.
21:03I don't want to play with that. I don't want that. I don't want any part of that.

22:37okay let's get on to jamar chase uh yep skinny he had a a remarkable day silly 10 catches 12
22:45targets 193 yards i know the catch and run was his athleticism yeah but the catch he made with
22:54nine seconds to go in the first half was just a thing of beauty and what impressed me also about
23:01that play was the hit that joe burrow took to complete that pass well mike the play before if
23:08you remember oh yes i do yeah he threw an 18 yardage more i did it was yeah it was a little
23:14bit of a it was a little bit inside he made a really good catch on that ball not a great catch
23:19but a really good catch like if he'd have dropped it you go oh okay i get it and um when he did it's
23:25not like you have to gush over it but that route for the 41 yard touchdown i mean joe steps away
23:31from pressure at the moment he's got a guy coming into his lap and he just launches it and jamar
23:37crosses left to right it was it was a thing of beauty and jamar basically the season is going
23:44because you're gonna have to score so many damn points to win games he might have a chance i swear
23:49mike he might have a chance for 120 catches for 1800 yards you can correct me if i'm wrong when
23:54you think that but the way this season is going that feels like where it's going i mean i remember
23:59tweeting after that touchdown i tweeted uh jamar um joe burrow to jamar incredible play three
24:09incredible incredible dollar signs you're right after that because if there was any not that we
24:16didn't already know skinny but that play that's those two plays the play you mentioned on the dig
24:23yep get them in this to the i thought that was a better catch mike i thought that was a better
24:29but yeah that's a fair point um and then the touchdown right after that those two plays told
24:36you why jamar chase is worth so much and it's gonna cost the bengals now a lot more to get
24:43him signed next year yeah i'm just it just is it is i'm just at the oak of i'm not sure where we go
24:50with this i just don't know where they go i'm not sure where the team goes um where he asks what
24:56they want to get it's a weird spot but i mean i gotta give this dude credit the new england game
25:02was wonky because the new game was wonky in general since that point in time he has been absurdly good
25:09not just good absurdly good you can make a case right now with five touchdowns he had two today
25:16so he has five touchdowns in his last three games insane and he's producing he's doing everything
25:22he said he would do for this team offensively if you give him a chance to shine joe burroughs
25:28numbers we talked about what kind of days have 30 of 39 392 yards and the five touchdowns
25:34my work a career high um any of those touchdowns stand out to you was it the was it the 41 yarder
25:42oh no the one to chase was the one to me like that was a big one for many reasons because
25:48the throw was great the route was great the catch was great and it gave them that two for one at the
25:53end of the half and then they to their credit they circle back around and got the touchdown
25:58start the second and that's where i thought wow you're up two scores now you're in a good spot
26:03you're in a good play you're in a great place and they weren't that's the part to me that was
26:07really really weird um i thought that i thought the the route to yoshivash down to the two and
26:15oh that was a beautiful ball it was it it hung it hung but um but it hung because the guy was in
26:22joe's lap so he just kind of just flipped it out there and it was a great ball in general and a
26:28great play by by andre to make the catch well he also shielded the defender yes um yes brilliantly
26:34well well he almost did like a pirouette he found the ball then he stopped slowed down i just thought
26:41it was a terrific catch uh and a great play on both ends uh we haven't talked too much about
26:47the dax hill injury and we referenced it earlier uh but that's a big one you're gonna probably
26:53lose one of their starting corners we don't know the diagnosis yet we know it's bad it's a right
26:59knee injury he came up uh hoblin on a uh actually it was a dax hill i'm sorry cam taylor uh brit uh
27:07breakup of a pass intended for zay flowers on third down um cam uh dax hill was passing off
27:14zay flowers to cam he made the break his knee buckled um how did you think the bengals secondary
27:21played after dax hill went out of the game because dax hill was supposed to be moving inside uh to
27:27play nickel for mike hilton who was inactive and then so you had jalen davis at the nickel you had
27:34dj turner one corner cam taylor brit the other horrifying um they're gonna have to figure
27:41something out and i'm not sure what that's going to be and again let's make this clear i'm not
27:45trying to make excuses that's a really good offense right i mean they're so good i mean
27:50lamar lamar throws some weird wonky passes at time where you're like oh my gosh guy that's a
27:55horrible pass but he also throws some really good passes and he extends plays and he runs and they
28:01run um that said i thought jalen davis was just horrifyingly bad i he's a good yeah i mean he's
28:09a special commerce that's the best mike at best and so now we're down to rookies man we're down to
28:16we're down to fig newton we're down to day john hanthony i mean and he's a safety but we're down
28:21to young kids and i'm not sure that's going to work moving forward now you get lucky because you
28:27play the giants you play the brown watson who couldn't throw a pass to you or me from 10 yards
28:34on air i mean that's part of a break and you play dysfunctional the eagles and then the raiders i
28:41mean so you have a chance to get back to this i'm not trying to be polly and i'm not i promise you
28:45people i'm not um but again you're playing a really good offense today shorthanded when the
28:52injuries happen i don't know where it goes with dax we don't know in may i mean tomorrow it's
28:57possible mike that we find out he's done for the year he's got a week and that's it now the other
29:03part is mike hilton will probably be back next week too that's a good thing a little bit so now
29:08you can figure out that okay cam and and dj are outside corners and that's fine um but today
29:14once all that stuff happened oh my word they were a mess in the secondary um and and i i gotta tell
29:20you you can correct me if i'm wrong and you can certainly tell me i'm an idiot geno stone has not
29:25been very good no and we were observing that collectively in the uh press box today i mean
29:32geno on the uh i believe on the likely touchdown the incredible uh the crazy the crazy yeah the
29:40crazy off to the side are jack that only by the way that crazy likely uh pass to isaiah likely
29:48i believe that one went for only looking it up right here's five yard it was six yards and he
29:54threw like the 22 yard line yes i mean that was insane now now for people who did not see that
30:01go see it go look it up kids sam hubbard comes off the edge and has lamar jackson dead to rights
30:09he does but he doesn't he does but he doesn't you're right fair point skinny fair point but
30:14he's bearing down on lamar and he has a beat on him and lamar as you said earlier just gives him
30:21a stiff arm and this is a you know 290 300 pound defensive edge that he gives a stiff arm too
30:27but still nobody's breaking open nope and it was like that borough pass uh in the playoffs
30:33against the raiders if i'm recalling correctly the wild card game as he's heading out of bounds
30:39he just flings the ball in in a play that you like in the middle mike into the middle where
30:44you're not supposed to throw the ball where if there's any bengal around that should be a red
30:49zone yes exception yes and he finds isaiah likely and geno stone was the db that appeared to be
30:57on that yeah it was insane that was a i mean again tip your cap because that that that stuff
31:03doesn't happen with 96.3 of the quarterbacks in this league but man was that a great play
31:10yeah it was that that was uh one hell of a game and it's just for bengal fans listening to this
31:17or watching this on our youtube pages uh it's a frustrating repeat of what's been happening for
31:23three of the first four weeks and now four of the first five weeks
31:27mike four losses by one score four losses by 16 total points that it's not an excuse it's just
31:36this team is better than what it's doing and that's the only thing i can give you solace for
31:40as a bengals fan and i'll give you the solace and i'm just gonna it's pollyanna it's rose-colored
31:46glasses whatever you want the next four games are winnable no question no question if this team
31:52somehow goes to five and four game on okay we we can re resume the discussion yes of a relevant
32:02bengal season that's what we're talking about and the bengals get back to relevancy right now
32:07they are a team that can't finish and they're one of those and we and we have just documented that
32:14with a special teams miscue defensive miscues a joe burrow interception on a day when he played
32:19great and arguably a zach taylor miscue of being conservative to kick a 53-yard field goal rather
32:25than get it closer it was every single solitary phase coaching offense defense special teams
32:31and that has to be fixed and the weird part is mike it can be fixed because you saw today when
32:37they were really good they were really good what do you got up on local 12 skinny so that's the
32:44column i wrote um just got done with it'll be up shortly um of again you can blame the field goal
32:50you can blame zach and all those things but there were literally everything in every phase and
32:56that's kind of this season in a microcosm of they can't seem to make the play they have to make
33:02our podcast obviously is up mike i did a uh q a with our sports anchor yanni trangelis that'll
33:08be up and i've got my game story which mike you're old school like me do you write an old school game
33:13story like i do i wrote old school i read pretty much yes i do i do it i do it i do think i do
33:19think there's value and i do too writer people people people read it actually what happened in
33:25the game correct it's funny it's funny it gets more reads than i've ever thought and i put i
33:32put like tweets in there for touchdown plays and stuff and as you know i yeah right i actually
33:37enjoy it so i get done with it like there's a satisfaction of you know what that was you know
33:43nobody cares but me but i like writing that little old school game story of here's a running game
33:47story of here's what happened here's a good lead here's how the game went and then write it from
33:52there and then all your tweets and stuff i love that stuff yeah and and i think there's still a
33:57demand for that 350 to 400 words on how the angles broke the their fans hearts on sunday with
34:04ego 41 38 overtime loss to the baltimore ravens bengals one and four on the season
34:11ravens improved two and three next up for the bengals sunday night football in the big apple
34:16or at least right across close close enough yes close enough but met live stadium against new
34:22york giants a team that they're clearly better than but we've said that before early here in
34:27the 2024 season take nothing for granted with these bengals correct they have to they have to
34:33definitely head into the week with that attitude i want to thank everybody for watching this
