00:00This is LARVA
00:14Before today's program, we used to talk about how Dengue is spreading and how our teams are working
00:24and how you, our children and our families can protect ourselves from Dengue.
00:35The most painful phase of my life was to be infected with Dengue.
00:4515 INDO teams have detected LARVA from 30 locations.
00:49They have stopped the potential mosquitoes.
00:52We thank you and all your workers.
00:54This is just a team of one.
00:56We salute all the workers who are working against Dengue.
01:14In the name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
01:21Assalam-o-Alaikum.
01:22I am Iqrar-ul-Hassan and I am presenting this special program to you from Lahore.
01:27The people you see with me are the brave soldiers of the Health Department.
01:32They are always on the streets to protect you and our lives.
01:37They go to homes and factories.
01:40To save you from Dengue, to complete their mission, they are always on the streets.
01:47We have with us CEO of Health Lahore, Dr. Zohaib Hassan.
01:52Thank you very much for your leadership.
01:54Today, we will try to reach more people.
01:57We will also be able to tell people about the work you and your team are doing.
02:02Right now, we are in Model Town, Lahore.
02:06We will also tell you about the work that has been done so far.
02:10We will also inform you about the work that is being done.
02:13Fortunately, the topics and topics of the previous programs were that Dengue is spreading.
02:22Dengue has spread.
02:24I am happy that the program that I am doing today, I can proudly say that Dengue has been controlled.
02:32At least this year, the credit goes to Dr. Zohaib and his entire team.
02:37Let's start with how these teams are working and how they are playing their role to protect you, our children and our families from Dengue.
02:49Come.
03:01Pakistan
03:16Dengue affects many countries internationally every year in its peak season.
03:22Pakistan is one of those countries that is historically affected by Dengue.
03:26Dengue outbreak occurs every year from 2012 to 2013.
03:30This year, the priority of the special government for Dengue was to focus on Dengue.
03:35Our secretary minister repeatedly held meetings from the CM's side.
03:40We took time in June and July.
03:43We started working from that time.
03:44We made an effective plan as a special efficiency from that time.
03:48To target those UCs that are vulnerable in Lahore every time and where there is an outbreak.
03:55DC led us in this.
03:57We took a very good plan.
03:59We have only 3,200 Dengue workers in Lahore.
04:03We made a comprehensive plan.
04:05We prioritized UCs because there are 2.2 million houses in Lahore.
04:09It is not possible for the team to reach every house which is an on-ground situation.
04:13If you look at it this time, you will see a lot of difference in the case load.
04:19The reason for the difference is that we looked at the spots, areas, housing societies, places and towns where there are more cases.
04:27Historically.
04:28We put more HR on that.
04:30We did indoor surveillance.
04:32We requested people to cooperate.
04:35Our team went to every house.
04:37If I tell you the figures of today,
04:40only 217 cases have been confirmed in Lahore so far this year.
04:44What was last year before this?
04:46Last year, there were more than 7,000 cases.
04:49Last year, there were deaths in Lahore.
04:51This year, Alhamdulillah, there were no deaths.
04:55We can say with confidence that there have been no deaths from Dengue in Lahore on record.
04:59In Lahore.
05:00Which is big.
05:02With this, I will tell you that larva detection is a basic tool.
05:05We try to detect the larva early.
05:09So that it does not convert into an adult mosquito and bites people.
05:15We do all our preventive efforts first.
05:18We come to curative treatment later.
05:20We have detected 125,000 larvae in Lahore so far this season.
05:25And on every larvae detection, we have done indoor residual spray in 5 houses.
05:31It is called IRSM.
05:33It also attracts larvae and adult mosquitoes.
05:35We have done that.
05:37These are some of the main things I have told you.
05:39I would like you to brief us about today's on-ground activity.
05:44And then we will come back.
05:45Today's activity is Dr. Shahid Nabi.
05:47He is our DDHO.
05:48He is in the model town of this town.
05:50In Gulberg, where we are right now.
05:52So today, Dr. Sahab will tell you where you were.
05:54And today's findings.
05:56Yes, absolutely.
05:57Before I talk to you, it is very important to tell you that I myself have been affected by Dengue.
06:03I can say with great confidence that there are very few dangerous diseases like Dengue.
06:11And my level of red blood cells had reached the point where I felt the need to bleed.
06:19And during that time, many of our loved ones passed away.
06:23So I think this is a very scary thing.
06:25And you all deserve congratulations that you are really saving people's lives.
06:29So what are the SOPs?
06:31How does the work start in the morning?
06:33And what did we do here today?
06:35In the morning, the day starts with a morning meeting.
06:39All the workers gather in one place in the Union Council.
06:44The plan for that day is told to them.
06:47And then the execution begins.
06:49First of all, like K Block is a model town.
06:52In K Block, we have about 750 houses.
06:55According to today's micro plan, we had a proper plan that we have to start from K Block.
07:01And we have to do sweeping here.
07:03We have a total of 15 teams here.
07:05Indoor and 5 outdoor teams.
07:0815 indoor teams have detected larvae from 30 places today.
07:13From where the potential mosquitoes were going to form.
07:17With that, its IRS spray has been done.
07:22So only from K Block, larvae have been detected from 30 places today.
07:26Apart from this, there was an under construction building.
07:29We have found larvae from there.
07:31So according to its SOPs, we have placed it there.
07:34That has been locked as well.
07:36When larvae are found from houses, is there any action against them?
07:39There is no provision in the law yet.
07:42We have not gone to that level yet.
07:44Our Mr. Imran Nazeer is basically a community worker.
07:50We have been working from someone's house for so many years.
07:53How long can we inform someone?
07:56But till now, there is no legislation.
08:00In that, to create social stigma, we paste red stickers.
08:06That at least for awareness, other people should be aware.
08:11That such dengue larvae have come out.
08:13They must have committed a crime.
08:15Because of which the larvae have come out from here.
08:17That is the precaution.
08:20Dengue or preventive, all our diseases are two-way traffic.
08:24This is from a single department.
08:26Till the community's response is not there, it is not possible to completely eliminate it.
08:32Our team is going home, cleaning people's fridges, pots, bird pots.
08:39We are also giving them awareness.
08:42Wherever there is larvae in the water, we are informing them.
08:44But I will also request my people to do their own housekeeping in their own homes.
08:49Without that, it will not be possible.
08:51Without that, it will not be possible to eliminate it.
08:53We have reduced the number of cases.
08:55We have made efforts.
08:563000 people worked day and night.
08:58We have created a difference.
09:00But still, we want 200 people, not even one.
09:02Our government, the people who are working, making efforts day and night.
09:06Everyone wants to end dengue.
09:08And one thing I would like to tell the camera.
09:11One and a half hours ago, we coordinated to record the program.
09:17And it is not that the teams were called from somewhere.
09:21The purpose of telling this is that they were really working on the ground.
09:24We just talked to Mr. Zubair Hassan an hour ago.
09:27In the name of Allah, come, the teams are already working.
09:29This means that work is being done on the ground.
09:31The numbers also show that, Alhamdulillah, all our workers are working.
09:38And they deserve congratulations.
09:40So this house is already ...
09:42Sir, our team is here.
09:44This girl is our team.
09:46How are you?
09:48When you come home, people get scared, right?
09:51Sir, people actually get scared.
09:53They are afraid that there will be a crime here.
09:56But we tell them that we are here for your benefit.
09:59You have no harm in this.
10:01If we get any problem from anywhere, it will be the IRS.
10:06Your house will be cleaned.
10:08People also cooperate with us a lot.
10:11What did you check when you came here?
10:13First, we saw their cooler.
10:14The cooler was positive.
10:15What does positive mean?
10:18There was larva in it.
10:20This is our sample.
10:23Then we got it cleaned.
10:26When we took the sample, we wrote the date on which we came.
10:30Then we put this positive.
10:32Coolers are very normal in every house.
10:35We visit every week.
10:37We tell people every week.
10:39If it rains, people know that it's been a week.
10:43Can you show this?
10:45This is the larva.
10:47It is very small.
10:49This is the sample.
10:51It is swinging.
10:53This is the larva.
10:55It takes 6 to 7 days to become an adult mosquito.
10:59In optimal temperature.
11:01If it was not there 6 days ago ...
11:03It had to become a mosquito and fly.
11:05When it had to bite, it had to be separated from the larva.
11:08We have to stop it.
11:10Mosquitoes can't fly.
11:12Mosquitoes can't fly.
11:14We have to stop it before it becomes an adult mosquito.
11:17What else did you check?
11:20There are bottles on the wall.
11:23We check it.
11:24We reverse the water.
11:26If someone has filled a pot with birds, we check it.
11:30Did people know about this work?
11:35We visit every week.
11:37We come and tell people every week.
11:39If someone is not at home,
11:41or if someone is not at home,
11:43or if someone is not at home,
11:45they say that they did not know about it.
11:49We tell them about it.
11:51We say that it happened last time.
11:53We thank you on behalf of the society.
11:58You are saving people from this disease.
12:00Very well done.
12:02Do your family members take precautions?
12:04Yes, they do.
12:06These people are here for you.
12:08I am sure you cooperate with them.
12:10Thank you so much.
12:11Larvae are positive from this house.
12:13We give awareness to our family members.
12:16We water the larvae.
12:18We have this red sticker from the government.
12:21We paste this red sticker on the house.
12:23This is for social stigma.
12:26People should feel that they have to take care of their house.
12:30They have to be careful.
12:32Do you have to do more?
12:34I will tell you.
12:36Larvae are found outdoors.
12:38We find larvae in factories.
12:40We find larvae in tire shops.
12:42We give F.I.R.
12:44This season, we have given more than 5000 F.I.R.
12:47to the District Law Office.
12:49More than 5000 F.I.R.
12:51It makes a big difference.
12:53What are the things to check?
12:55First of all, we introduce them.
12:58We are from the health department.
13:00We are here for your benefit.
13:02We are here to visit the dengue.
13:04This is a container.
13:06We have to check if there is old water in it.
13:09If there is old water in it,
13:11we have to change it.
13:13We have an M.T.S. worker with us.
13:15Sometimes, old women go to work.
13:18We ask them not to do it.
13:20We do it ourselves.
13:22We saw larvae on the backside of the container.
13:25If we want to find larvae,
13:27we have to go to 2-4 houses.
13:29Right, left, back and front.
13:31If we know these points,
13:33we touch the houses
13:35to make sure no one is missing.
13:37We ask the people behind the container.
13:39What do the women and daughters
13:41who are watching this
13:43have to do?
13:45You go there on a daily basis.
13:47You know where to find larvae.
13:49What are the things
13:51you have to check regularly?
13:53Where to change the water?
13:55You tell us.
13:57First, we guide them.
13:59As the monsoon season is passing,
14:01we find a lot of larvae.
14:03If we are going to one house,
14:05it is not necessary to be at one place.
14:07There are other containers.
14:09If there are bird pots,
14:11they are positive.
14:13If there is a shopper at home
14:15and there is no rainwater,
14:17even if there is a teaspoon of rainwater,
14:19it can be positive.
14:21We tell them that if they
14:23eat extra things,
14:25it will be good for them.
14:27If you have dengue fever,
14:29you will have a lot of problems.
14:31We tell the women
14:33that men don't have much time at night.
14:35We check the fridge tray.
14:37People have to keep water dispensers.
14:39They keep drinking water.
14:41The water keeps accumulating.
14:43We have taken out larvae
14:45from the fridge tray
14:47and the water dispenser.
14:49We guide them that
14:51if it accumulates on a daily basis,
14:53you have to waste it.
14:55People fill air-conditioned buckets.
14:57The water does not get wasted.
14:59We have kept buckets outside the pipe.
15:01One last thing I would like to tell you
15:03for people
15:05that dengue is preventable.
15:07If there is an early detection,
15:09it is just 1% mortality.
15:11If it is late,
15:13people do not test
15:15and if it is late,
15:17the death rate increases by 20%.
15:19So early detection
15:21and surveillance
15:23is the key to prevent it.
15:29Sir, what is the challenge?
15:33If we look at the old numbers,
15:35it means that work has been done
15:37and exactly those areas
15:39have been identified
15:41where there were problems.
15:43What are the challenges
15:45that we are not able to complete?
15:49The biggest challenge
15:51is our community's
15:53behavior
15:55or support.
15:57Although it is very good,
15:59but until everyone
16:01plays their role,
16:03because it is a preventive disease,
16:05it cannot be eliminated.
16:07This is housekeeping.
16:09Health department,
16:11the health department
16:13does not work alone.
16:15But housekeeping
16:17of a person's house,
16:19his fridge,
16:21flower pots,
16:23bird pots,
16:25will not be completed
16:27until we do it.
16:29When everyone takes their own responsibility,
16:31they will do housekeeping.
16:33Will this be possible
16:35only by making him feel responsible
16:37or should there be a punishment
16:39First of all,
16:41we campaign for awareness
16:43and do seminars.
16:45The biggest awareness is my team
16:47that tells people to go home.
16:49Secondly, we have seen
16:51when we do punishments
16:53and FIRs on our hotspots,
16:55we get a good response from people.
16:57The responsibility is fixed
16:59and the complaint is not repeated.
17:01There is no response from people at home.
17:03We have given suggestions
17:05and other people are also giving
17:07suggestions like
17:09wearing a helmet on the bike
17:11is fine.
17:13Even if a larva comes out of someone's house,
17:15we are putting a sticker on it.
17:17There should be an FIR or a fine on it
17:19so that they take care of other people's lives
17:21and their families.
17:23If I have a dengue fever,
17:25I don't know whose carelessness
17:27caused the larva to form.
17:29We have been in pain for a month
17:31because of it.
17:33I would also like to add
17:35that it is lethal
17:37for the elderly
17:39and children.
17:41It is lethal
17:43for children
17:45and it is also lethal
17:47for people with blood pressure
17:49and diabetes.
17:51It is also lethal
17:53for dengue fever.
17:55I would also like to ask
17:57about polio.
17:59We face a lot of challenges
18:01regarding polio.
18:03There are a lot of rumours
18:05and people are concerned
18:07about entering the house.
18:09Do you have to face
18:11any challenges from the people
18:13on the ground?
18:15We have a team
18:17and we are a
18:19small town society.
18:21We have a collaboration
18:23with them.
18:25Even if there are
18:27refusal houses,
18:29we get them covered.
18:31We try to convince them
18:33to enter the house.
18:35Ultimately,
18:37we don't get them.
18:39Do you personally feel
18:41that your efforts
18:43can be less
18:45if there is a mechanism
18:47for punishment?
18:49Yes, definitely.
18:51In Bangkok, Thailand,
18:53it is called a blessed mosquito
18:55because when the season
18:57starts, the community
18:59takes care of the house
19:01themselves.
19:03They take it as a
19:05blessed mosquito.
19:07It is my wish
19:09that people should
19:11take care of their
19:13own houses.
19:15It is my wish
19:17that people should
19:19take care of their
19:21own houses.
19:23There is no mechanism
19:25for punishment.
19:27We have done
19:29so many programs,
19:31so many efforts,
19:33so many campaigns.
19:35Even then,
19:37if you get a refusal
19:39from a house,
19:41then definitely
19:43you will have to
19:45add some element
19:47of punishment
19:49so that it doesn't
19:51go on like this.
19:53It will be a big budget.
19:55It will be a big budget.
19:57It will be a big budget.
19:59It will be a big budget.
20:01It will be a big budget.
20:03It will be a big budget.
20:05It will be a big budget.
20:07It will be a big budget.
20:09It will be a big budget.

20:15It will be a big budget.
20:17It will be a big budget.
20:19It will be a big budget.
20:21It will be a big budget.
20:23It will be a big budget.
20:25It will be a big budget.
20:27It will be a big budget.
20:29It will be a big budget.
20:31It will be a big budget.
20:33It will be a big budget.
20:35It will be a big budget.
20:37It will be a big budget.
20:39It will be a big budget.

22:21This is the medicine.
22:23This is the medicine.
22:25How much effort is being put in, how much hard work is being put in?
22:27Sir, in your opinion, the numbers compared to the last few years,
22:31Alhamdulillah, have almost come down to zero.
22:34Who do you give credit for this?
22:37We give credit to your personality as well.
22:39But from your side, what credit goes to which policy,
22:44to which direction, to whom does it go?
22:46The biggest credit goes to the frontline workers
22:49who worked in the field.
22:51You have seen that it is not easy, it is hot, it is cold.
22:55People are going to clean their homes.
22:58The first credit goes to them.
22:59The second credit goes to the government's policy,
23:01who provided us with resources.
23:04They provided us with budgets and HR.
23:07Frequently, there was a cycle on which we made efforts.
23:12Frequently, we have meetings.
23:14At the level of Dirk's ACPSS commissioner,
23:16there are meetings every week.
23:18At the level of Dirk's deputy commissioner,
23:21the chief secretary, the secretary,
23:23and the CM are directly watching it.
23:26We do not have a chance.
23:32Yes, sir, we talked in detail about Dengue.
23:35You have seen the efforts being made to control Dengue.
23:39And why are these efforts so important,
23:41or why are they being put so much effort?
23:43To tell you this, we will introduce you to some people
23:47who have been affected by Dengue.
23:49I am one of them, and I believe that
23:51the most painful phase of my life
23:55was to be affected by Dengue.
23:57May Allah protect everyone from this deadly disease.
24:01I want you to hear the impressions of such people
24:05who were affected by Dengue.
24:06What pain they went through,
24:08what suffering they went through,
24:09what problems their family members were affected by,
24:11so that we all can understand
24:14how deadly and deadly this disease is.
24:16We all have to play our part in its treatment.
24:20These are the people who survived.
24:22Apart from the stories and stories,
24:25the people who died as a result of Dengue.
24:28As a result, the whole house was destroyed.
24:30Come, let's introduce you to some people
24:33who have been affected by Dengue,
24:34so that you can understand how serious the matter is.
24:38At first, he had pain in his body.
24:40Then he had fever.
24:41After that, the fever was getting worse for two days.
24:45Then we brought him to the emergency room.
24:47They did his tests.
24:49They did it immediately.
24:51They immediately found out that his blood pressure was dropping.
24:54The cells and everything.
24:56The next day, they admitted him.
24:58Now, Alhamdulillah,
25:00he is much better than his treatment.
25:03Because I want to tell you a small thing.
25:05Three years ago, my son had Dengue.
25:07We were very worried
25:09because he was 18 or 19 years old at that time.
25:13Since then, we have been using mosquito repellent.
25:17We have been using mosquito repellent and sprays.
25:21I want everyone to do this.
25:23Because if you don't do this,
25:25you will get diseases from Allah.
25:27So, it is important to be careful.
25:29We were careful.
25:31But when we work,
25:33there was a little bit of garbage there.
25:37Because of that,
25:39it happened.
25:41When it was more,
25:43I felt that something was wrong.
25:45Dengue is mostly due to heavy legs.
25:47And the whole body.
25:49And the head hurts.
25:51And the eyes hurt.
25:53And the whole body hurts.
25:55When he came home from the university,
25:57he had a very high fever.
25:59So, I gave him Panadol for two days.
26:01I took him to the doctor.
26:03I took him to Borocho Hospital.
26:05They told me to give him CBC.
26:07Because the child has nothing but high fever.
26:09I gave him CBC.
26:11And his heartbeats were very low.
26:13Then I came to Miami Hospital
26:15for two days in the emergency room.
26:17Then I came to the hospital,
26:19I came to the hospital,
26:21then he admitted him.
26:23The child's heartbeats were very low.
26:25His heartbeats were very high.
26:27So, he felt a lot of weakness.
26:29Then he admitted him.
26:31So, he is much better now.
26:33He has recovered a lot.
26:35I don't know.
26:37because there are big gardens there.
26:40I don't know if it could be from there.
26:42It could be at home too.
26:43But I haven't seen anyone else in our neighborhood yet.
26:49Symptoms are like this.
26:51There is fatigue and fever.
26:55It goes up to 102, 103, 104.
26:58And it's just fatigue.
27:01There is a lot of fatigue.
27:04When you walk, it feels very heavy on the head.
27:10In this, just wear socks and go to the college or university.
27:16Cover it.
27:18This is the only treatment.
27:21And the rest of the gardens are far from here.
27:26So use a safe place.
27:30In this, a person should wear full-length clothes.
27:34And apply the lotion on the ears.
27:39Everywhere on the face.
27:41Do not let water accumulate in the house.
27:43Where this mosquito can be born.
27:45Check the plants here and there in the fridge.
27:48Be careful with water.
27:50And get as much spray as possible at home.
27:53Dengue patients also come and go.
27:56But be careful yourself.
27:59I didn't know when I got dengue.
28:02I used to have a stomachache, fever, headache.
28:07So I came to the hospital.
28:10They gave me medicine.
28:12I took it, but it didn't come.
28:14No phone was coming.
28:16Then I came to the hospital.
28:18The doctor told me to get my test done.
28:20I got my test done.
28:22It was dengue.
28:24They admitted me.
28:26They treated me.
28:28I am much better now.
28:30I am much better now.
28:32I had a fever.
28:34I didn't know before.
28:36So I got a private test done.
28:38There were very few cells in the CBC.
28:40Then I was admitted to the hospital.
28:42During the duty, mosquitoes bit me.
28:44I knew it was dengue.
28:46That's why I got the test done.
28:48I have a headache.
28:50I have a lot of pain in my eyes.
28:52There is no life in the body.
28:54Tiredness.
28:56My problem is that I can't wear clothes.
28:58I can't wear socks.
29:00I can't put on lotion.
29:01Mosquitoes.
29:05We have discussed how to control dengue.
29:11But what should be done?
29:17Now let's have the expert's opinion.
29:19So that you know.
29:22What should be done if there are symptoms?
29:24In that case, what kind of tests should you get done, what kind of treatment should you get done,
29:28what kind of reaction should you show immediately.
29:31Because as the doctor said, the severity of dengue is more in that case
29:38when you prolong the tests or treatment.
29:43So let's listen to the expert's discussion on this issue.
29:47Yes, the disease of dengue is basically preventable.
29:51It means that if we take preventive measures,
29:55then no patient needs to come here.
29:58For example, if you have to use a mosquito repellent at home,
30:02and there is no wet place at home where mosquitoes can grow,
30:06then if we take precautionary measures, then the disease of dengue is not possible.
30:12So our ward is made for dengue.
30:14Patients come to us from OPD or emergency.
30:17Some of the symptoms of dengue are high-grade fever, cold, headache, and eye pain.
30:26So if such patients come to us, then first of all we keep them in suspected dengue.
30:32After that, their CBC follow-up tests are done in which platelets are monitored on a daily basis.
30:39There are very few patients of dengue compared to last year.
30:43There was a lot of dengue last year.
30:45This time, there is not much flow.
30:47Because people have become aware.
30:49Because people also use precautionary measures at home.
30:53So the number of patients of dengue has decreased a lot.
30:55There are not many patients now.
30:57Dengue is a fatal disease, but it is curable.
31:00It can be saved by using different precautionary measures.
31:04Dengue is a clean water mosquito.
31:07In which the mother lays eggs in clean water and carries the virus from there.
31:12And when it bites a human, it injects the virus into it.
31:17Because of this, the blood vessels, which we call platelets, which help to store blood.
31:22Their destruction starts and their fractures start in the body.
31:26Due to which different types of symptoms develop.
31:31In which the pain of the body, fever, joint pain, different blood flows from the body, blood from the nose.
31:39Or blood can flow from any part of the body.
31:44So there is complete treatment to control all these things.
31:48So by adopting all these precautionary measures, we can save ourselves from this virus of dengue mosquitoes.
31:53Which is a curable disease.
31:55And this facility is also available in our hospital.
31:57If anyone has any symptoms, such as fever, body pain, or any symptoms.
32:03So he can go to the hospital.
32:05So that his treatment can be done on time.
