Surah Al-Fajr (The Dawn) is the 89th chapter of the Quran, consisting of 30 verses. It emphasizes the importance of reflecting on history and the fate of past nations, serving as a reminder of the consequences of rejecting divine guidance and the blessings of God.

Key Themes of Surah Al-Fajr:
Oaths by Dawn and Time: The surah begins with oaths taken by Allah on the dawn, the ten nights (which are interpreted as the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah), and the passing of time. These oaths draw attention to the significance of time and events in the universe.

Destruction of Past Nations: The surah recalls the fate of the people of ‘Ād, Thamud, and Pharaoh, who were destroyed due to their arrogance, oppression, and rejection of the messengers sent to them. It serves as a warning to those who follow similar paths.

Human Nature and Greed: It highlights the tendency of humans to feel secure and boastful when they receive blessings, but to become hopeless and distressed when tested with hardship. The surah advises against such attitudes and encourages gratitude and patience.

Day of Judgement: Surah Al-Fajr ends with a vivid description of the Day of Judgement, where the wrongdoers will regret their actions and wish they had obeyed Allah’s commands. It concludes by calling on the "soul at peace" to return to its Lord, pleased and well-pleasing.

This chapter serves as a reflection on the consequences of human actions and the importance of adhering to the teachings of Islam.
