00:00I'd actually love to see Dylan O'Brien in a Transformers movie rather than just as a voice actor.
00:04The screen test of him changing into a car didn't look very good.
00:11Hi, I'm Dylan O'Brien.
00:12The internet is a place with a lot of people and a lot of opinions.
00:15So today we're going to read and respond to some of them.
00:17This is Don't Read The Comments.
00:31At John says, the bleach blonde is such a look.
00:35Uh, thanks.
00:37It's like rock bottom hair. You know what I mean?
00:39It feels like it's breakup hair. You know what I mean?
00:42It feels like it's like you got out of a relationship hair.
00:44The reason Disney didn't want him is because they're afraid he will take the spotlight from everyone else.
00:49The reason that Disney didn't want him is because he can't sing.
00:55This is a true story. I actually did go and do this audition because I know I can't really sing.
01:01And I just wanted to go do it because I was kind of like, f**k it.
01:06And I remember the casting assistant said, okay, that was great. Thank you.
01:11We need a stronger singer.
01:16It was something like that.
01:17I'd actually love to see Dylan O'Brien in a Transformers movie rather than just as a voice actor.
01:22The screen test of him changing into a car didn't look very good.
01:28You know, it's funny. A guy randomly came up to me on the street one time.
01:32And he said, are you the guy in Transformers?
01:35And I was like, Shia LaBeouf?
01:38And he's like, aren't you? Are you not in Transformers?
01:40And I was like, well, it's weird. This is weird.
01:43Because technically I am, but not in a way that you'd recognize.
01:47And it ended up being a really long conversation.
01:50We're still friends.
01:53Okay, I tweeted in 2011, at Jenna Janey,
01:57Spongebob is where I derive all my acting influence.
02:00Not no.
02:02I like love Spongebob, and I think that the show is like a masterpiece.
02:06I think I probably said this because in sort of reflecting on like shows or movies
02:11or things that I loved watching as a little kid, you just realize how much you pull from all that.
02:16Spongebob was one of my favorite characters as a kid, you know.
02:19And so he probably influenced me just as much as like a Jim Carrey did
02:22or like a Matthew Perry did, you know what I mean?
02:25At Comedy Junkie, with this funny of a cast, it must have been the most fun set ever.
02:30Yeah, it was pretty fun.
02:33No, I always loved Lamorne from New Girl.
02:35And like, I'd always like met him randomly at places too, like forever.
02:39And just thought he was like so nice.
02:40And Willem Dafoe and Willem Dafoe came on.
02:42I know everybody's really jazz.
02:44JK too, obviously.
02:46Oh, and Cooper Hoffman too, who's like my buddy.
02:48So that was really fun because we were like buddies who were then going to work together.
02:53Dan is a legend. Does Dylan have a favorite Dan character?
02:55It's probably like kind of random.
02:57But like my favorite Dan Aykroyd character for me as a kid was from a movie called Tommy Boy.
03:04Aykroyd just kind of plays this like Chicago car parts dealer.
03:08And he just has this like Chicago accent.
03:11And that's like not a prominent one at all, I think for anybody.
03:16But that was like the first thing that I was familiar with Dan Aykroyd from when I was like a little, little kid.
03:21Because I loved Tommy Boy.
03:22How did I keep a straight face?
03:24You know what's funny? I didn't really.
03:26And it's in the show.
03:28There's literally like a cut.
03:29It's like on Larry.
03:30And he's like telling the dog to shut the f**k up.
03:33He has like the dog in his arms and he's telling the dog to shut the f**k up.
03:35And I'm in the shot and I look off camera and I'm laughing.
03:39You can see it. It's in the show if you go and look for it.
03:41So I didn't really keep a straight face.
03:43Especially with Larry because he's hilarious.
03:46Holy crap, real good so far, but will he nail the flip flops?
03:49Yeah, f**k you flip flops. Nailed it.
03:51Yeah, I was trying to channel Andrew for sure.
03:54That scene always stuck with me.
03:56Like his performance in that scene is just crazy.
03:58And it's like, I was like 18 or 19 I feel like when that movie came out.
04:02And so it was just an iconic moment.
04:05At Gnarly Charlie, Donald Ryan is the king of playing himself and making himself seem insane.
04:09Yeah, good. Good.
04:12Growing up, I liked seeing actors from things like take the piss out of themselves and things.
04:16And I don't know, and kind of make you guess whether they're insane or not.
04:20Making fun of myself comes naturally to me is the best answer there.
04:25Dylan working on an M Night film. So ready.
04:27Yeah, this has been a long time coming. I love this movie.
04:31We shot it about three years ago.
04:33That's exciting that people are excited for it.
04:36At Tone Burger, does he follow any specific diet?
04:39My diet is kind of all over the place.
04:42I go in and out of sort of taking care of myself.
04:45Sometimes I'm doing a part where I'm like, oh, I technically should let myself go as much as I can.
04:51So I don't have to, you know, I could just drink beer and stuff.
04:54And then sometimes I'm like, you know, it feels good to eat clean.
04:57And so it's sometimes for me as easy as like, you know, roasting some chicken and some veggies, you know, of any kind.
05:03But then, yeah, I'm also somebody who like loves to eat and loves to like kind of be non-eating too.
05:09So like, I definitely indulge.
05:13Styles never shirtless.
05:15I heard it was because Dylan O'Brien is ripped, but Styles isn't supposed to be.
05:17So that's why he was never shirtless.
05:19That's not true.
05:21I don't think I was ever shirtless because there was no interest in me to be shirtless.
05:27Like by me, by our cast.
05:30So, yeah, it's certainly not because there is any sort of secretiveness.
05:35OK, I have heard what the Internet has had to say and I've responded.
05:39That's it. Thanks for watching.
