00:00Double signal, double signal.
00:05Okay, good.
00:09Today, the Malaysian Road Traffic Police...
00:13...together with the Royal Malaysian Police...
00:16...the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department...
00:19...the Traffic Investigation Department, PDIM...
00:24...together with the Anti-Drug Agency...
00:27...we have been carrying out OPS for a month...
00:32...starting from 1st October until 31st October.
00:37This is an order from the Minister of Transport...
00:41...so that the JPJ will take firm action...
00:44...against commercial vehicles...
00:46...especially lorries that carry excessive weights...
00:50...because this is an order from the accidents...
00:54...that have occurred since the IAEA...
00:57...involving death accidents.
00:59So the JPJ has cooperated with several other authorities...
01:04...especially the Anti-Drug Agency...
01:07...to identify the drivers...
01:10...who drive commercial vehicles...
01:14...that have issues related to positive drugs.
01:19So for three days...
01:22...the OPS for commercial vehicles...
01:25...has been started all over the country...
01:28...starting from 1st October...
01:30...and for three days until 3rd October...
01:33...we have identified 32,178 vehicles...
01:37...4,233 vehicles have been taken action...
01:42...16 vehicles have been reported...
01:45...and 8,701 notices have been issued...
01:51...regarding various violations.
01:54And in just three days...
01:57...seven drivers have been tested...
02:00...and found positive drugs.
02:03The test has been carried out by the IAEA.
02:06So we have taken action...
02:08...to identify the vehicles for the positive drug drivers...
02:13...and there are also vehicles that we have identified...
02:16...regarding other violations.
02:20The JPJ wants to emphasize...
02:22...to all commercial vehicle drivers...
02:24...to always be responsible...
02:27...to follow all the regulations...
02:30...set by the government.
02:32We want to inform that...
02:35...the JPJ will always monitor...
02:37...not only the main roads...
02:40...even today...
02:42...we are also on the road...
02:44...the small road...
02:47...that has never been operated...
02:51...by the authorities...
02:53...especially the JPJ and BDM.
02:55In fact, we have identified several other roads...
02:59...that are used by commercial vehicles...
03:03...based on public complaints.
03:06This road in Bangi Semenyeh...
03:08...is one of the roads...
03:10...with the most vehicles...
03:13...that pass through this road...
03:15...and disturb the visibility of the residents...
03:18...around this area of Bangi Semenyeh...
03:20...which caused us to operate on this road today...
03:24...and at the same time...
03:26...we have the JPJ and BDM teams...
03:30...operating on other roads.
03:34Dato, regarding the accident issue...
03:37...of a commercial vehicle...
03:39...as you said...
03:41...the situation is getting worse...
03:43...so, from the JPJ's perspective...
03:46...what is the cause?
03:47Is it due to the lack of skills...
03:49...or the issue of the vehicle...
03:51...that has been around for too long?
03:53There are several reasons...
03:56...the drivers...
03:58...as we can see...
04:00...regarding the skills of the drivers...
04:02...they do have sufficient training...
04:05...but there is...
04:07...what we see sometimes...
04:09...regarding the aspect of the vehicle itself...
04:12...we see the technical aspect of the vehicle...
04:15...when we operate...
04:17...whenever there is an accident...
04:19...the JPJ will conduct a village survey...
04:23...an audit of the vehicle itself...
04:26...so, in terms of our survey...
04:29...we found that most of the vehicles...
04:31...do not meet...
04:33...the technical specifications...
04:35...that should be met...
04:37...so, this may be due to...
04:39...the lack of maintenance...
04:42...to the vehicle itself...
04:44...but in terms of driving...
04:46...we see...
04:48...in terms of the driving record...
04:50...we also see...
04:52...that some of the drivers...
04:54...have a broken brake caliper...
04:56...so, there are various aspects...
04:58...that we see...
